I wish I had all day to spend in this one tiny shop. Everything in here is unique and a true find. From the vintage baseball gloves to miniature brass cannons. David is friendly and helpful in the most genuine nature. Truly what you hope for in an antique shop.

Best thrift store I wandered into during my time in NOLA. The man behind the counter, who I can only assume is David, greeted me warmly when I came in and asked if I was looking for anything in particular. He has a great selection of random odds and ends. Costume jewelry, antique lighters, old photos sorted by odd categories, housewares, skeleton keys, clothing, shoes, original glass mardi gras beads… I found an awesome pleather and lace jacket, two giant skeleton keys, erotic greeting cards from the 70’s/80’s, and a black and white photo of a couple by a coffin, eyeing the camera with derision. I brought two of my friends back with me later in the week and one of them found an absolutely gorgeous glass kaleidoscope. I can’t even explain how gorgeous this thing was, and it was reasonably priced at $ 65. As per my friends words, «This is something I’m going to keep in a special room, never let my children touch, and then leave to my grandchildren to inherit». Awesome.

What an amazing find this place is! This is a small unique shop on Lower Decatur that kind of reminds me of someone’s grandmothers house that is filled with antiques and treasures. Here you will find all kinds of unique things. Some items that stuck out to me were: TONS of vintage clothing, including old Navy uniforms, vintage hats, unique salt and pepper shakers, religious figurines, antique decorations, statues and bottles and much more! One thing I loved is that there are boxes of old black and white photos. If you are a collector of unique pictures, you must stop in here and check them out. Looking through the box you see people dressed up for Mardi Gras on Canal street, people enjoying themselves at wedding and much more. There is even a case with antique jewelry in it. Some of the items here are a little expensive, but keep this in mind: these are unique items that will make great gifts and if you see something you really like, why would you want to hunt around for a better deal online when you are already in the shop? Also, the shop is pretty small and it’s packed with things so you are bound to find something worthwhile in any price range. If you are a collector of things that are a little dated, unique and a touch creepy, than this is definitely the shop for you.

My favorite place in New Orleans to shop. Seriously! Whenever I’m in town, I am sure to stop by David’s Found Objects. The store is jam packed full of treasures, but the jewelry stash is particularly awesome. I always walk out with a handful of trinkets(which, when I get home, always garner me tons of compliments). The prices are great, David is friendly, and there are just TONS of items. What more could you want?
