Kyle’s frames were hanging on the walls here long before I ever heard of «Yelp!». Good frames cost good money. If you’re looking for something one level up from scotch tape or a push pin, pick up a frame from the housewares section at Wal-Mart. But don’t complain if your artworks look like you lifted them from a Super 8. For us, Kyle has framed diplomas, professional certificates, a large NOCCA watercolor, and a number of prints.(My wife will probably send me back here to edit this, because«You forgot the […]!») For a 2000s vintage child, Kyle successfully emulated an old, fragile framed matched collection of toddler portraits done by D.H. Holmes in the 1950s and 60s. We also trusted him with a signed limited edition William Joyce print that now sits in the«first seen» spot in the front room. Kyle gives good advice on frame texture, matting, color choices, proportions. He’ll listen to your ideas(crazy and otherwise) and work with you on a range of choices. On every job he’s done for us, workmanship of what came back has been perfect. Pieces he did long ago still look new after enduring years of temperature and humidity cycles, moves, house-cleaners, and painting crews. If you used Lakeview Gallery and Framing of Kenner(out by Château Estates) or Lakeview Gallery & Framing on Harrison Avenue, those were Kyle’s shops. I recommend with five stars: You get what you pay for, and we have beautifully framed work that does justice to both the art and the surroundings.

The quality of the work is excellent. I feel the price was much higher than other places. I am new to framing and am learning a lot about the process and the pricing. The first piece I got framed was of similar size to the one I got framed by Kyle. I didn’t know of Kyle until I saw his Living Social deal($ 55 for $ 120 worth of framing). This intrigued me: I thought that this was great because I’d be getting the same amount of framing for half the price. I inquired with Kyle on his Facebook page and he assured me that his prices were actually lower than competitors because he doesn’t have the overhead of those shops due to being mobile and working from home. Again, I thought this was great because I’d maybe get the whole frame and matting done for the LS price. The price quoted to me was 1.5 times higher than the price I paid for my other framing job when quoted with the matting. Even after the matting was deducted and then the LS coupon was deducted I still had to pay $ 120. So, in total, somehow I ended up spending twice as much for less framing with Kyle(if you include total value of LS deal and the cash price I paid after the deduction) than I did with a local shop. Kyle as a human was pleasant, he was prompt, he was efficient, and he did great work. I think that his pricing is extremely high. Again, I don’t know everything about framing; so maybe I got a better quality glass with Kyle, or maybe I didn’t get cork backing with the other shop so I paid more for that with Kyle. Not so sure but will learn more as I frame more and learn what to ask. If you know what to ask then Kyle does great work quickly!
