Not much of an atmosphere and the back area with the bar is a different ownership from the front cigar area? Odd. Had to make separate purchases.

Great selection! A little over priced but understandable given the location. Friendly staff & very comfortable atmosphere.

Large cigar lounge with full bar, lots of seating, good sized humidor. Has the Cuban ex-pat feeling. A little slow weekday afternoons. Not really in the French Quarter, on the other(«American») side of Canal St. Not sure how long it will last, most other buildings in the area are being renovated and I’d guess rents are up.

Huge mark up on cigars, very rude, unprofessional service. Would not recommend. In a city that should cater to a wide customer base, in my humble opinion, this cigar store falls short. Highly recommend looking elsewhere in the BIGEASY.

Cigar are good. If you know what you want. The guys are very nice. The price is right. The drinks at the bar are good. It’s priced reasonable. I would check it out. It’s very quiet and laid back. The music is good. Nice place to lite up and relax and enjoy a cigar.

This place needs to make sure that they treat everyone the same. Certain people should not get preferential treatment. Our group came in with drinks from another establishment, bought cigars and no one in management said anything. Our party enjoyed ourselves for 2 hours and bought drinks from their bar as well. After about 2+ hours we decided to get one more drink from the place next door and when someone came back with another drink all p a sudden management had something to say. That’s funny, why didn’t they have something to say when we walked into the establishment 2 hours earlier if that was a policy?! In addition in talking with a local, who had a water bottle filled with liquor, no one said anything to him about bringing outside food or drink into the establishment. Sounds like preferential treatment if you ask me. Sad that in 2015 establishments still have these practices in place. I would not recommend this location or establishment if you want to be treated fairly.

Their sign outside says they close at 12, but they kicked us out at 11. Cigars were overpriced by about 20−25%. The seating area was nice but that was about it.

We stopped in here for a cigar and drink. The manager? recommened a Dominican cigar to us and it was delish. He knows his cigars. They also have a very nice selection of scotches. Don’t hesitate to come here for a nice cigar and drink before or after dinner.

First and foremost. I can’t believe I just got ripped off that bad. I understand cost of doing business is high but if your going to have to almost be Borderdline offensive with prices, YOUAREINTHEWRONGLOCATION! I’m sorry but It can’t be ok to sell cigars for that price. I travel and breath cigar shops and this place puts the hammer on the nail. On a good note ;The place is set up nice, good lounge space, nice music and has a bar. I really wanted to enjoy the vibe. But I just couldnt do it after I paid nearly 15 dollar more then the cigar actually cost. Word of advice, bring your own cigars and you might enjoy what would of seemed to be an excellent place. Will not be returning.

This is clearly the best cigar lounge in the French Quarter. But… as far as cigar lounges go it’s kinda grundgy. They have a large walk in humidor with a good selection, very high priced, probably 10% higher then anywhere else. But it is on Cannel St. And $ 9 for well drinks. We hung out and watched the basketball game on several TV’s. The furniture is broke down and horrible air quality. No smoke eaters here. But still better then others in the area.

Great find! Comfortable leather couches and chairs throughout for watching a game, playing dominoes or solving the problems of the world. Well stocked bar, excellently stocked humidor. The place is spacious and comfortable with a friendly staff. If you enjoy sitting back with a fine cigar, you’ll find one here and this place is a great choice.

Acceptable selection of cigars, however they are all large ring gauge and kind of over priced, the bar SUCKS! No mojitos, no wine selection, just a shot and beer type dump.

This is the best cigar bar in NOLA, bar none! Most folks have no idea what a hidden gem they’ve stumbled into when they find this place. Here’s the back-story. The Rodriguez brothers grew up working at their father’s tobacco farm and later worked for the top cigar makers in the world. Now the Don Leoncio Cigar company sells about 7 million sticks/year, not counting the cigars that they manufacture for Gurkha, La Palina, etc. Usually 2 of the brothers and their nephew are at NOLA shop and available to answer all of your questions about cigars, play dominoes, share a cup of coffee(their own boutique brand at no charge), leave you alone to work, have a meeting, work on your computer, or spend all day taking it easy at the best location in the Big Easy— all at no extra charge! Make no mistake. These guys are cigar experts who can tell you everything and anything you ever wanted to know about cigars. They are also very humble, approachable people who will help you with anything you need. So what’s the problem? Well, MY problem is that once you try the Don Leoncio cigars you will not want to smoke anything else! I speak from experience, having a very large cabinet humidor at home. After trying their sticks I keep coming back to theirs, no matter how hard I try to smoke others for variety. Yes, they are that good! This place has a decent selection of cigars, as well as their own brand of cigars which isn’t half bad. Several leather chairs/couches to sit and smoke at, and a full bar. All of the windows are completely opened which makes it less smokey and the AC is always running. Overall a decent place. The reason for only 2 stars is because their sticks are ridiculously over priced… in some cases double what I normally pay for the same cigar. I get that they are convenient and that warrants a bit of gouging but they are way overboard.

Like they’re all saying, good, conveniently located place to relax and finish the day. It is what you make of it. Friendly, knowledgeable owners, nice humidor(some are saying«limited», I’d call it «selective» … if you can’t find something you like here, you’re probably not into the best Dominican brands). Very decent, if slightly pricy, bar. Flavored(or not) Dominican coffee brewed and to go(try the nutmeg). Felt at home though just visiting. In the words of an aficionado from my home state: I’ll be back. Update: got the nutmeg coffee home and found it completely flavorless. So bad I had to throw it out. Still a good place for a cigar, but maybe shouldn’t stray from the core biz. Dropped a star for this.

Great Cigar Bar on Canal Street very close to Harrahs Casino. Not much to look at inside, random couches all over the place but the owner was very helpful at helping us select a cigar based on our tastes. I honestly have never had a cigar I have enjoyed until I was at Don Leoncio. Excellent service and selection. A bit pricey but for the selection I think it was worth it. Reasonable drink prices too!

The cigars are ridiculously overpriced here. Talk about taking advantage of tourists ! The humidor is very limited. If you are a Pinar fan, then you are in luck. But as a far as any other cigars the selection is just not there. My fiancé and I always visit Cigar shops, no matter where we travel as he is a definite Aficionado. The guy who was running the register(not sure if he is owner, manager, or what) entered the humidor behind my Fiancé. My initial reaction to this is to assume that he was trying to be of assistance. However, after a few questions and answers between them, it quickly became evident to my Fiancé that he was actually being watched or surveilled, as opposed to being assisted. This is a complete turnoff. Yes we know that there are people that steal from businesses. I can understand a business owner trying to deter this behavior. However, there are many other ways in which you can keep your eyes on your merchandise without making a customer feel like they are under suspicion(Uh cameras anyone ?) Again, we go to A LOT of cigar shops & know quite few owners and are well aware of ways in which this can be done without intrusion. The worst thing you can do is offend someone who gladly spends plenty of money on cigars & would never think of stealing a cigar. The upside to this place is the full bar in the back, generous seating, and a nice view of Canal St. for people watching. However, after feeling profiled like a criminal, it’s hard to get the bad taste out of your mouth and it was not the taste of a good cigar !
