Didn’t try the food. But the drinks were strong and the people friendly.

I remember when this place came under new ownership they actually were pretty good. I went there and ate several times. I even got to meet the owner Big Al himself. As time went on this place started going downhill. The food wasn’t as good, and the employee’s there didn’t act like they cared anymore. The very last time I went to this place was earlier this year when my father came to visit me. When my dad came to New Orleans one of the top things that he wanted to do down here was to try some Crawfish because he had never tried it. We saw a sign in front of the business that said,“Boiled Crawfish Daily”. We went in and got seated at our table. The lady asked us if we had decided what we wanted. We both told her that we wanted some boiled crawfish. She then proceeded to tell us that she couldn’t boil any crawfish because the owner was not there that day. We both got up and left right then and there and went somewhere else. I haven’t seen my dad that mad in a Long time, can’t say I blame him though. I guess I know why there business is dwindling between the poor service, and false advertisement. Such a shame they used to be pretty good! Update: This place is under new ownership… Again! Sometime I will have too check it out and see what changes they made.

To start with, I have driven by this restaurant for 9 years and never went in. The only reason I did go was a friend gave me a coupon worth $ 25 towards $ 35 worth of food. So three of us went to claim the coupon. It was a Saturday Night at 7pm and the place was almost empty. We presented the coupon and was immediately told that the coupon was invalid. That it was under new ownership and the coupons would not be honored. I asked when the new ownership took place and the waitress said January. I stated that the coupon was bought in August which is 7 months after the new ownership. She said that there was some mistake and that the coupons were not honored as stated on the door. So we ordered. In New Orleans, you better have either good food or good prices. Deckbar had neither. I got 8 shrimp, fries and potato salad for $ 12.95. The portion was meek and the fries were not cooked to order. The others with me agreed that the food was very subpar. So I will not be going back. I will however, report this to the coupon agency.
