Food was good. Place was hot so I couldn’t even dine in as planned. Customer service could have been way better.

Well this is a little gem… I ordered the west Harrison hogie with boudin balls. this hogie was bug enough for two people. it was the most flavorful and tasty hogie I’ve had in a long time. The boudin balls were awesome… Chicken Sues is a must visit.

Very good lunch spot. I took my wife there many times while she was pregnant for our son. Ms Sue and her staff took great care of us, and still do. Try the Fried Chicken.

This is the best fried chicken I have had. The chicken is perfectly seasoned and cooked. Her chicken reheated the next day is better than most other chicken. There may be the personal/religious arguments about battered vs floured; here, it doesn’t matter. Only vegetarians won’t like this chicken.

The fried chicken is worth the wait. Everything was made fresh and delicious. Great little spot ducked off in the corner on harrison. Ive only had the fried chicken but its good enough to get a good review for the whole restaurant. Definitely recommended but dont expect the chicken to come out quick… eat and enjoy.

Was there at 6:50, was told that restaurant was closed. Typical New Orleans. Four tables inside.

I must say, as a regular to New Orleans, chicken sue’s is a must stop. After 2 visits, the chicken is the best I have had anywhere. The creamed spinach and green beans are fantastic. We will always go to Chicken Sue’s and enjoy a fantastic southern meal!

This place deserves 4 stars for the fried chicken alone. You’ll see in my profile that my last meal on Earth is fried chicken. Well, I wouldn’t complain if Sue catered that unfortunate meal. Sue’s chicken is in that middle ground between a super crunchy, almost battered chicken and the shaken in flour homecooked variety which is more of a soft crust. Both sides of the crust argument will enjoy this version. Sue also succeeds on one of the more trying issues in store bought chicken — her breasts come out moist on the inside while the thighs are cooked all the way through. Not easy to do. The potato salad is excellent as wel as the muffaletta. You will not go wrong at Sue’s.

Was embarrassed to discover I neglected to enter a review for Chicken Sue after Sue’s great southern hospitality. A friend is going to New Orleans. I was looking up Chicken Sue as he was looking for recommendations on where to eat when I was horrified to discover my sin of omission. We ate at Chicken Sue on a Friday night in late September 2012, arriving just before closing at 8 p.m. We ordered the fried chicken which was prepared fresh. The pieces were huge, hot and golden delicious as promised. What surprised us the most were the eggplant fries. Awesome! And… no one else has them, at least not to this level of perfection. We couldn’t stop eating them as they are absolutely delicious.(I don’t know why the NOLACVB doesn’t play up Sue’s eggplant fries. It should be on any list of things to experience while in New Orleans.) But more importantly, the best thing about Chicken Sue is Sue herself. Sue has run the business as a means to support the livelihood of several other women who were impacted by Hurricane Katrina. We immensely appreciated the idea that by choosing to dine at Chicken Sue we too were helping in the recovery process. Chicken Sue’s was a little difficult to find as we weren’t aware the entrance is tucked into an inside corner of a L-shaped building just left(behind) a more visible pizzeria. The easiest route is to enter and exit from the nearby intersection of I-10 and I-610 and then turn West onto Harrison. So, yah! We’re fans and will return for some more eggplant fries on future New Orleans trips and will gladly recommend Chicken Sue to others.

The best chicken strips around! We happened to go to a Halloween party that was serving Chicken Sue’s chicken. It was so good, I looked up the place the next week. They have a small place in the Lakeview area. The people working there are really friendly and nice. I suggest getting the food to go, as there aren’t many tables to sit at in the shop. I recommend the chicken strips and baked mac n’ cheese. We weren’t very impressed with the poboys or the jambalaya. But, the chicken is awesome!
