Jovan was a pleasure to work with! Upon entering the boutique, I was instantly amazed my all the various forms of wrapping paper the store had, as well as cards. Jovan was very helpful in explaining all the different styles and textures in wrapping paper and just great to get to know. Great ambience, friendly vibes, and solid selection on wrapping paper, cards, & other knick-knacks!e

I noticed Box Paper Scissors while moseying around Magazine street because they’ve got a pretty sweet neon address sign (will photograph next time). You walk in and the store has a very contemporary art gallery feel to it, and is very clean and organized.
While some stores pile on the merch, they’ve got just enough to cleanly cover their tables and bookshelves with many of the books displayed more like art than retail which I think is swell compared to other stationary stores that really pack it in.
They carry a unique variety of Alexa Pulitzer, a New Orleans native stationary designer and artist, whom I can’t get enough of so I bought some Christmas presents. Though her Alexa Pulitzer stuff is a little pricier than other retailers, I don’t mind supporting a local artist in a local store.
Box Paper Scissors also carries some really cool wrapping paper, that I’ll actually be framing a sheet of for our bathroom.
The staff (who I think may have been the owner and another employee) were very pleasant and helped me get one of the sheets and wrap it up for me, so I didn’t send their paper in disarray.
I would definitely come back to check out their stock again!

I thought this shop was closed since it was no longer located at the address listed in the Unilocal database… but then I discovered it a few blocks upriver still on Magazine (address change submitted to Unilocal HQ).
The shop had a great selection of fancy cards, stationary and art books. I loved all the fancy papers as well.
The staff member/​owner was very nice and helpful as she prepared for a party later that night. Definitely a spot to find a gift for a special someone.

Beautiful stationary (and more) store! The owner (I think she is the owner) is so sweet and helpful, and clearly is dedicated to giving people a quality product.
They have very unique and beautiful card sets, with many done by local New Orleans designers, and some more famous ones, like Christian Lacroix. They also sell notebooks of all different styles, colors, and sizes. They also have gorgeous wrapping papers, which could be art themselves! They also have pens, art/​design books, and artsy plateware. I like just coming in to browse the pretty things.
The layout is clean and simple, not too crowded with stuff, with everything beautifully displayed. They also do a lovely wrapping job!
All in all great store, for presents or something pretty for yourself :)

I love Box Paper Scissors. I’ve been three times and have always found something to come away with. The two sisters who run the shop are amazing people and very knowledgeable about nerdy writing things like pens, ribbons, wrapping paper, and the like. They’re also super friendly and helpful. You feel taken care of there. Box Paper Scissors is a beautifully laid out store with all types of lovely products. For any occasion I come here and get a super unique, hand made card to send out. They have funny cards, serious cards, and everything in between. But all their cards are of super high quality material. Definitely support this place.
