Do not come to this event!!! The cost is 18.00 per person. But what they forget to tell you is that when you come. They only get candy to kids 12 and under. I had a bag of chips taking from me after I had open them. And my child also was giving a bag to get some candy and it was taking from her also. Because she was 15yrs old In the toddler area. There was face painting but they stop after the 1st hour of opening. You can just come to the zoo in the day time and do the same thing you do at Boo at the Zoo. And the night is not over. Never again!!!

The place to be for family Halloween fun. Parking is crazy so plan accordingly. Purchase and print your tickets online and just walk up through the turnstiles. As you walk in there are plenty of props and photo ops for the family. The trick o treat lane where they hand out bags for the kids to collect candy is not till you’re far in the park by the team room walkway so bring trick o treat bags for the kids sine there are many booths before you even get to the candy lane for the free bad. Tip#1: Have the bag handed out near the entry way. While it was convenient to have all the all the candy handed out in one place it takes away from the whole«boo in the zoo». Tip #2: have the candy stations spread through out the park so kids can see the animals and have their Halloween fun – one by the reptiles, one by the dinosaur exhibit, one by the main game area, etc. Otherwise this whole event was just a festival with a small area for Halloween. Definitely liked the haunted house – scary and non-scary version. A definite must as well as the monster maze. Some of the booths were not labeled well. It was sad to see kids run up to a booth for candy only to be told no candy was given here. Every booth should have candy(while supplies last of course). The Arena football Voodoo mascot was a nice way to reach out and interact with the community. Too bad there couldn’t be more representation from other professional sport organizations. Nothing from the Saints or Pelicans… sad. The stage area was a great place to grab a chair, have a meal and listen and watch all the kids dance on the stage to the tunes of Monster Bash. The food selection was pretty good. $ 3 for water and soda $ 6 for hot dogs and burgers $ 2 for cupcakes. There was also gumbo, chicken tenders, and corn on the cob. In the splash zone area was made for the little ones. The main hit must have been the haunted train. Wait was over an hour to see zombies in the park! Overall, it is a nice safe way to enjoy Halloween with kids and parents all dressed up. It’s worth it! #NOLA
