Beer, wine, and some descent grub? Yes, please. So when you first walk in it seems like a basic bar, but the real action is happening outside. So you go up to the window and order your food they give you a buzzer that will go off when your food was ready. The menu was pretty standard nothing too special more of a burger and fries joint. I believe that this was one of those places that you dont come for the food but for the drinks(which I am okay with). Everything is a la carte for the burgers so I got the cheese burger dressed with bacon. The burger wasnt to die for but it served its purpose to go with the beer. I loved the fact that there was LOTS of bathrooms outside as well in the bar. So the outside seating is perfect its about three nice size lots put together with all types of seating and there is the beer bar with any type of ale/beer that you can think of, and on the other side is a wine bar with lots of selections of wine. This is a really good spot to grab a few drinks with some friends before going out or if you just want to sit around and drink and share memories.

Friendly bartender, excellent bloody Mary and extensive beer list. The crawfish boil was good, but honestly could have had a couple more pieces of corn, sausage and potato(only one of each with our giant heap of crawfish for 3 people) Overall, it’s a nice relaxing space perfect for sharing crawfish and some cold drinks.

$ 12 for a GIANT plate of crawfish. My sister and I shared it and we’re both completely stuffed. They also have a huge selection of beer and cider at a really reasonable price. Also lots of outdoor seating! They could accommodate a large group as well. We’ll definitely be going back here and telling all our friends!

I was visiting New Orleans(originally from Los Angeles) and was lucky enough to be recommended this place. From the outside it is quite unassuming and seems like a normal bar. You have to walk through to the back where there is so much outdoor seating, shade, a crawfish area, and 2 other bars. It is a great place to spend the afternoon drinking and eating. Between 4 of us we ordered 2 pounds of crawfish which was more than enough. The drinks were tasty and relatively inexpensive and the atmosphere was great. The bar is right by a bike path too which was great because we biked from the French Quarter. Overall really great. I will definitely be back next time I’m in town!

We ended up going here at the end of May for a crawfish boil. Guess the only complaints I had was the fact that I had no idea where to go in order to place my order when I walked in. I looked at the menu and it said nothing about a crawfish boil, but my friend had asked someone while I was waiting. You have to go outside to the back of the bar. It would have been nice to know before waiting in line. Anyways, I got over it. We went to the back and got served pretty quickly. We sat down with our beers and crawfish boil. Everything was tasty. One thing we noticed though was there was only one potato and sausage in our crawfish boil. I would think if there’s anything to be stingy over, it’d be the crawfish. I liked this place though. It had a nice comfy vibe to it and the crawfish was good.

So I’ve seen this place before it was BBG and I must say it just keeps getting better and better! It’s expansion brought on better beer, alcohol, and wine selection! The food is just what u need in life and the deck is perfect for any weather! Saints game there are the best!!! Love this place!!!

The only reason BBG gets 4 out of 5 stars is because there isn’t any open service on the floor– you must go to the bar to order. Still, there is a beautiful courtyard in a nice neighborhood with better than decent bar food. I’ve been here before and I will be back again.

Yooo this place is so dope. Went a few weeks ago for a party and it was just ultra tight. The beer is «chrispy» cold(if you know what I mean) the ppl are super nice and the ambiance is just right for relaxing evening w family and friends. Just be sure to go when it isn’t too hot and humid!

I would like to clarify that this bad experience happened last summer(2015). Thank you to the GM of Bayou Beer Garden, David, for reaching out to me and offering me a gift certificate to return. Unfortunately, I will not be removing this review because I feel that Unilocal is designed so that an average consumer like myself can honestly review an establishment. I went out of my way to attempt to speak to someone other than the rude bartender, and the«manager»(at the time) did not seem interested in calling me back to resolve the issue. There are way too many CONSISTENTLY friendly bars in Nola that deserve my patronage more. —edit Came here for the first time with a large group of coworkers one evening. I had placed my order with a female bartender at the bar outside when I asked her for several more drinks for my friends who had just walked up. She then was extremely rude with her body language, and with a condescending tone, told me not to order again until I knew exactly what I wanted. I thought it was a joke and said, «wait, you’re kidding right?» And she said, «NO — don’t order if you don’t know what you want.» I KNEW exactly what I wanted; I was only helping my friends get a drink. Do I apologize to this girl for giving her business? So ridiculous. When I asked to speak to her manager, she said, «I AM the manager» and walked away. I went inside to speak with other employees about her outrageous behavior and they actually directed me to the REAL manager who was helping in the kitchen due to the large crowd. I explained the entire situation to him, and he apologized repeatedly and asked to take my number and said that he would call me back«in a couple of days.» I’m not sure why he wanted to do that but I gave him my number anyway and lo and behold, no phone call. That’s fine. Like I told him personally, I didn’t speak to him because I needed a comped meal. I worked in the service industry for several years, and I know how tough it is. But never have I been angry enough to lash out on a customer. I refuse to give them my patronage again. which is sad because it boasts an extremely laidback environment and I would have truly liked it otherwise.

We hosted our Sunday drop in brunch after our wedding at Bayou Beer Garden and couldn’t have been more pleased. Dave and John were prompt in their responses and worked with us on menu and bringing in king cakes. Our space was as described and everyone had a great time. I would highly recommend using them for an event. They do not enforce a spending minimum, which relieved so much pressure for us.

This place was an awesome hangout for a Sunday afternoon. We were a group of 12 and took over the front yard. Bayou Beer Garden is an old house converted into a bar. They have a full bar so the name is a deceiving. We snacked on some crawfish, and had a couple of craft cocktails. If you are in Mid-city you definitely have to hang here for a bit.

This place deserves five stars. It’s a beer garden, attached to a wine garden. I repeat, it’s a beeeerrrr garden that’s attached to a wine garden. The two areas are separate, but meet in the middle– the beer garden has a very big patio, the wine garden has a decent sized one. The ambience of the wine garden is better in the interior, it’s the opposite for the patio. Tuesday night trivia at the beer garden! Crawfish and Ousters on Fridays(maybe more days) The beer garden has an extensive cider menu. I love cider Come here with the gang to chillax #Chillaxin #TVsEverywhere #CiderIsTheNewBrownBagDrink #DownInOne #VEEP

My boyfriend and I rented bikes during our trip to NOLA and decided to bar hop in the Mid City neighborhood. He loves craft beers, so we decided to stop at the Bayou Beer Garden for a drink. The front of this establishment is deceiving. It looks like a quaint coffee shop; however when you walk to the back, there is a very large deck with several different seating areas and bars. If you go down two steps, you are at the Bayou Wine Bar with a fountain, additional seating, and a bar with wines on tap! Both bars feel like one giant space, and apparently the owners are in some sort of partnership. For my boyfriend and I, it was absolutely perfect because he loves craft beer and I love wine. We went to our respective bars to order and found a seat in the Beer Garden area. It was happy hour, so I ordered the red wine on special, and it was only $ 4. They also have oysters on special during happy hour, $ 10 for a dozen! We didn’t get any because we didn’t want to spoil our dinner, but we talked to a lady from the East Coast who had ordered oysters, and she said they were some of the best she’s had. I would definitely go back, especially when the weather is better. It would be an ideal bar for a warm, sunny day.

Officially impressed. Small menu. Order up front, sit out back(at least on a nice day). The beer garden was cozy and fun atmosphere. We ordered from the menu. The crab cake bites were on point. We also ordered a few pounds of boiled crawfish. It’s in season and they were great! We’ll definitely be back to this spot.

During a weekend getaway to beautiful New Orleans, my group and I decided to seek out a crawfish boil. How amazing that we found Bayou Beer Garden! The beer garden itself is among the best I’ve experienced. Amazing ambiance, cool sections where you could sit, and of course, delicious crawfish! We spent several hours at Bayou just soaking in the environment. The food at Bayou was delightful. In addition to the crawfish, we ordered several appetizers including jalapeño poppers, crab cakes, and fries. I’d definitely get everything again! I’m very much looking forward to hearing back to this gem next time I visit New Orleans!

Finally checked this place out since i recd a bday giftcard. Pretty good beer selection and decent sized spaces indoor and out. Unfortunately the peanut butter burger left much to be desired and the jukebox doesnt actually work. Pretty decent beer selection and staff was friendly. Also have a pool table inside. Their disco fries were delicious! Will definitely be back. especially to hang outside during the nice summer days/nights.

Tis the season for Bayou Beer Garden. Buckets of beer in an enormous courtyard is basically all I want to do until the thermostat goes back over 85 and i return to airconditioning for the next 6 – 8 months. But while temperatures remain reasonable this is a great spot to take advantage. Crawfish on the weekends is a nice touch. The newly opened Bayou Wine Garden means both establishments now have a massively expanded parking area — which is great for the designated driver. The inside portion of the bar is dark and somewhat weird compared with the outdoor vibe of the patio and the food is terrible … but who cares! I have a bucket of beer.

Ah BBG, a fine staple in all of Mid-City. I remember when you could walk in and get a seat no-problem. Unfortunately for me, but fortunately for them, they’ve become so popular it’s not always as easy as it once was. That said, they have a LOT of seating(inside and out). The back«garden» area is great for a party(which you can reserve) or to watch LSU and the Saints. There’s a bar out back too! This is also a great alternative bar to watch soccer. Inside is a wonderful, dark bar with a spot to order food. Typical bar fare, but delicious and reasonably priced. They have a varied and interesting selection of bottled beer and beers on tap. The bartenders are friendly and attentive. This is just one of those bars that everyone knows and loves!

Huge outdoor patio is all you need. Oh, and the beer prices aren’t terrible, either. They offer a wide variety of beers, but don’t have a lot on tap. They also have liquor if you are not a beer person. If you sit on the patio, you have to go to the bar to order, and they’re a little slow because they usually only have 1 or 2 bartenders. This is a great place to come during the day to leisurely catch up with some friends over a couple drinks. They have pretty good food, too. Get the disco fries with roast beef debris gravy and cheddar cheese!

Great spot to watch a football game outdoors. TVs at every angle with full audio and plenty of shade. Pretty good bar food also. Definitely a chill spot
