The food is mediocre and the waitresses are lifeless. You can usually make up for mediocre food with great service and witty banter, this place was lacking everything.

I’m sorry for the bad review but I think this place has a lot of potential if they change a few things. I went here with a few friends and we actually left after 10 minutes. And here’s why. The music was ridiculously loud. The music was not my taste but it could’ve been tolerated if it wasn’t so loud. It sounded like a club. Next were the TVs. Everyone was watching a game. I’m sorry, a barcade is for playing games, not watching other people play them on TV. And because everyone was watching the game, nobody was playing! Not one single game was being played in the main area and the place was packed. Also, the bartenders look like they belong in a dance club. This place needs to figure out its intended demographic. I wish it was a place for people to hang out, drink beers, and play fun games. I’ve been to other awesome barcades before. Believe me, they don’t have TVs and the bartenders are nerdy videogamers.

I would normally walk past arcade bars because I feel like I’ve grown bored of the concept but as it was a rainy day in New Orleans and this place was right next to my hotel I had to give it a go. Nice drink list, staff is friendly and helpful. They let you relax and enjoy yourself without pushing more product on you. They have games of course, most from the 90’s the games are fun, don’t know if this is something that happens everyday but when they first open or near opening, a guy maintains the games, and while doing so he puts loads of free games, so I played quite a few at no cost, so get there early and have fun. Cool for games and drinks.

Barcadia was a nostalgic trip back to childhood. The old school arcade games alone make it worth stopping by. When I saw they had a fried PB&J on the menu, I was intrigued. It was a delicious treat! My wife got a burger that tasted good as well. I look forward to my next visit!

Paying for parking always sucks. The food is pretty good. Drinks are expensive. The main draw though… The games. Good game selection, but some games are broken. Still had a blast though. Plan on going back.

Stumbled across this place on the way to Cochon and returned after dinner with the hubby to relive our youth playing the Simpsons arcade game, Pac Man, air hockey, and other favorites. The giant Connect Four outside was also a draw. Very laid back place but taking off a star because some of the games are broken(i.e. take your quarter, but then the controls don’t work.)

According to my check-ins I kinda like it here… ALOT! Strategically placed somewhere between the Warehouse District but not to far from the CBD and French Quarter… you have a place where the kid inside the adult can LIVE! I love love love the oversized connect four. I’ve been here on several occasions with friends… big or small groups and its always a good time. Even if i’m just walking through the neighborhood, catching the Saints game, having date night or purposely meeting up with folks to hang out… its always a winner. Great beer selection, full bar, happy hour is nice, and the food is decent for bar food. I love the burgers and the loaded fries. Its really a nice place anytime of the week. This past weekend one of my girlfriends who recently moved to Kentucky was in town. we partied it up on a Sunday. The DJ played hits all night… so much so we worked up a sweat and probably had a few stares from ppl wondering why we were in such a good mood. Its always a great time when I’m here.

Poor service and even worse food. In town for sales conference w/over 400 colleagues. Guess where we won’t be going back too?! How can u run out of wings on Sunday afternoon and the alternative boneless wings– taste and look more like flavored chicken nuggets. Beer was cold tho…

I ordered a double Macallan 12 neat. The first time it was fine. The second time, the brought me a cold, watered down drink. Buyer be ware, they attempted to water down my drink. P. S. The food sucks. I the positive side the waitress was nice.

This is my kind of place. I was pleasantry surprised by actually liking the food, we all did. One of us had a burger, one had a chicken sandwich and one had steak. We all loved our dishes. To wrap it all up, we got to go play mortal kombat and others after dinner. It was a good time. Will definitely return.

I’m about to be bougie as all heck right now. If you are of a certain age, definitely go here. Like fresh to drinking age. If a video game bar is a new concept to you, definitely go here. If you like young girls asking you to slap their ass while you are just trying to get in your dancing zone, definitely go here. My friends and I made the mistake of listening to a couple of 22 year old dudes when the proclaimed this«THEBESTBAREVVVVEERRRR». Ehhhhh. I have been to a couple of these bar/arcade/video game places. Every town has one. It just turns into bro central really fast and things are over-priced. If that is your thing, then by all means, proceed. If you are on my level, save yourself and go somewhere else. It’s too generic.

A bar and old time arcade mixed into one-what’s not to like?! They had a decent amount of local beers and staples on tap. The bartenders were nice and welcoming. This place definitively had a hipster/local feel to it. Our group enjoyed our party punch and sampling of beers. An extra star awarded for carrying 312 on tap.

Boy! A total class act compared to anything on Bourbon St. No funky odors, no weirdos standing motionless for money, no drunken street crawlers to step around and over. Overall good bar. Great place to daytime drink too. Real drinkers come out before dark.

I always enjoy coming here. Great games. The food is great for bar food. It does get very crowded on game days, and the bathroom lines get really long. We always have fun here though. Music selection is great.

It seems like every major city has a «Barcadia,» or something fairly similar, to satisfy those of us who grew up playing video games in the mall or in the the back corner of a 7 – 11. Since I’ve enjoyed my previous visits elsewhere, I figured I’d would test out the New Orleans version on a Friday evening. The first difference I noticed immediately is a focus more on the restaurant aspect of the establishment over the gaming/bar. Although, the bar is fairly large and offers a nice variety of craft brews and other drinks. Since I assumed it would be more Happy Hour patrons than diners, I hadn’t planned on eating here and made plans elsewhere for later. So, I can’t comment on the dinner menu. Regardless, I found a delicious coffee porter I wanted to try and made my way back to the game room. It was smaller than I envisioned with some old school video games, mini-basketball, air hockey, etc. However I was happy to find some short-term entertainment with one of the pinball machines for a bit before moving on. Nice place, a fun time and worth the visit.

I usually have a good time at Barcadia. And on Sunday night, when we ended up here after a going away party on the Creole Queen, we were still enjoying ourselves. The fries one of my friends ordered apparently wasn’t put in, so that took a bit longer than we expected, but no harm. We were having a good time and were some of the last people in there, and everyone was pretty liquored up. There was a woman who I guess was trying to close, I think a bit after midnight, and we were under the impression that Barcadia stayed open till 2 a.m., because that’s what it says on Unilocal,on Google, and on their website. I think she may have told one of us that they are closing and I remember being incredulous. At one point, I said something and I heard her respond to what I said, but not directly to me, but loudly in a really unprofessional manner, mocking me. I don’t know if she was the manager or what, but she could have actually addressed the group like an adult and said they are closing early for whatever reason. Maybe even apologize, since everywhere it says that they are open till 2. But nope, she walked around the establishment grumbling that people weren’t leaving. So that wasn’t the best end to the night and honestly it left a bad taste in my mouth.

Very refreshing salads. Had tvs up to watch games and giant connect 4 games. The giant connect 4 are neat in theory but sound like someone is raising a metal door if you are sitting by them.

Interesting and fun concept. It’s a bar with rollup doors that has old-fashioned video games and large connect four games along with full-size Jenga puzzles. Lunch specials were varied and well sized. I had the turkey and Brie with a side Cesar salad for $ 10. Beer selection was basic and average. There was a lot of advertising for Geeks who Drink which is a trivia night organization. That seemed like fun. Wait staff was a bit slow and very distracted. Overall a nice lunch stop.

I could have sworn I wrote a review for this joint but who knows. I’m getting older so maybe I imagined it. Anywho, this review will be bittersweet. My best friend who is like my brother(who passed away) and I went here on his suggestion. It was a Sunday afternoon so we were able to get easy street parking and it wasn’t crowded inside. He had the fried pb & j sandwich and absolutely loved it. This is like an adult playground with tons of video games, skee ball, pinball, basketball throwing game, pool table, huge connect 4 and huge jenga etc. My bestie and I got a roll of quarters each and went to town! My favorite is always the shooting game(hey, I’m non violent but I love shooting up fake stuff on a video screen!, skew ball, air hockey, pinball and jenga! This would be a great place to bring a first date bc you could let your inner kid out while getting yummy food, drinking and having a great time! Happy game playing!
