Ballin’s is a unique store on a stretch of Magazine that largely caters to tourists. They feature incredibly high quality, usually made in America and/or hand made, and unique high fashion pieces. Their selection ranges from New Orleans Knitwear sets, to beautiful hand painted silk scarves, to jewelry and handbags. There are also quite a few brands that I had never heard of, that are specialty or smaller independent lines. The sales associate told me that each Ballin’s location specializes in different brands, so each location has a different selection based on their clientele. Ballin’s definitely caters to a more mature crowd, but everything they carry is truly elegant and top notch quality. Even as a 20-something, I found many pieces that I could wear and even more pieces that my mom would look sophisticated in. The salespeople are bubbly yet knowledgable, and all of them have extensive experience in styling different body types and tastes so that you look your best. Even if your budget isn’t in the hundreds or thousands, they can usually help you find an accessory or sale item that fits the bill without judgment like some other high end shops.
