Simply one of the most gorgeous and eclectic mix of antique furniture, art and objects in town! And quite reasonably priced for such high quality pieces. Appartique is an inspiring and beautiful store with plenty of space to roam around(not like one of these crowed dark junk shops) and let your imagination take over. If you are in need of advice or suggestions, Jason and John(the 2 owners) will expertly guide you to come up with what you want/need for your home or office. They are also the best at customer service: on one recent shopping spree, Jason(who is also a fabulous painter) personally delivered our purchases to our home and even stayed long enough to help me hang a mirror I had bought from him. A mandatory stop for anyone serious about antiques, who seeks beautiful pieces!

Recently went to Appartique to fulfill a few of the annual«Christmas Quests» — those wonderful friends/relatives on your list that collect only a certain random color of hundred year old glass, or some other random arcane implement made not necessary by the dawn of indoor plumbing. Both of the owners were very helpful, and were able to allow us to complete our mission quickly(with time to spare at a local watering hole). Compared to some of the other shops in the direct vicinity, it is a bit pricier, but significantly better organized and a lot less cluttered. Speaking of the other shops, they also helped steer us to a few other shops — including one with more old random-colored glass. They also sell quite a bit of art, most of which is in-house by one of the owners. They are painting of old photographic portraits — including a giant neat one of two boxers. Perhaps someday it will be mine, once I acquire a wall large enough to accommodate it. Aside from Antique/Vintage Fare, they also carry a number of boutique lines, which(from what I remember) include jackets, soaps, ties, and accessories. The ties look pretty slick, and are made in the Carolinas. After living the LGD and Irish Channel for the last few years, this stretch is a great little wander, with almost all the business owners present and attentive. If you are looking for something unique, give this shop a whirl, along with the other shops. It is a lot more pleasant that its cousin on Royal Street in the Quarter.

From my perspective, antiques stores often appeal to the female shopper, however, Appartique has great items that will make even the gents do a double take. While there is a wide range of items available, I especially enjoyed the horn stools and horn light fixture. Great service in one of the best blocks on Magazine Street in NOLA.
