Stopped in on a Monday afternoon looking for fun gifts to take back to Ohio. The store looks overwhelmingly full of things but it is organized very nicely. It took some time to look through everything because each piece is so fun and different. I finally landed on the really neat colorful lights made from reused Mardi Gras beads! They were a bit costly but I know it is for a good reason and now a have a little piece of New Orleans! Staff was friendly and helpful. I would definitely stop here again for jewelry or random corky things.

Great store(great cause and great products)! Everything is local(or at least all of the jewelry and lamps). I love the colorful lamps which are made of melted mardi gras beads(Reuse). I am hoping to invest in at least one soon. Their jewelry is one-of –a-kind too.

If you go to one store in New Orleans make it Here! The store is super cute with amazing handmade items including dresses, necklaces, jewelry, and more! The owner of the store was very sweet and knowledgable about her store and took her job very seriously. I was treated so nicely and I even got a free pair of earrings for checking in on Unilocal! You also get a free ring if you like it on Facebook, so be sure to do that! Really cool and funky items at good prices! I loved it!

Cute store for jewelry and housewares/gifts, many of which are New Orleans related.(For example, Water Meter doormats/clocks, French Market paraphernalia.) The jewelry selection is large, affordable, and runs the gamut from super funky to quite delicate. Most of the pieces I saw were under $ 50. Great spot to stop if you need a random gift for a friend’s birthday or housewarming that won’t break the bank.

Great spot for very unique(hey it’s in the name) housewares, clothing, jewelry or gifts. They have lots of recycled/upcycled items, as well as some of the clothing lines that Big Life Toys carried when it was in this location. Plus Adorn & Conquer is in their loft space(but is a separate business). The staff was courteous but let you browse; the store can be a little jammed with stock which makes it a bit difficult if there are a bunch of people shopping, especially on the weekend before Christmas. Definitely a place to stop and buy a present that will make your recipient ask«where did you get that?!»

I live in America, and chances are you do too. If you’re reading this, I assume you have a computer and/or smartphone. So I also assume that you are like me in that you already have basically everything you actually NEED. Go to UP/Unique Products to find things you do not need and don’t even know why you want. A gratis example: I bought a water faucet that was painted bright red and screwed onto a block of stained wood. Like Duchamp’s Fountain, I intend to mount it somewhere inappropriate. Entirely unnecessary, but I like it. This store will sell you many other unique consumer goods whose mass-produced functional equivalents can be bought at Wal-Mart, but you’ll be much happier with those you buy here.

This is a cool store. Located in the same block as Juan’s, this shop sells items made by local artists. I stopped in with a friend recently and while we didn’t buy anything, I am sure I will be back soon. The shop had some very cool items including hand made cuff links. They were made with some sort of colored glass and were very cool. There were also clocks, lamps and other funky home items. The guy working seemed to be one of the artists and was very knowledgeable. I would recommend this shop if you’re looking for a unique gift, or some cool decorative items for your home.

This is the first place I think of to look for quirky, handmade, or up-cycled accessories. Objects from multiple vendors are set up throughout the store. From what I can tell most of it is locally made or recycled goods. Anything from lamps, wallets, clocks, bags, hats, jewelry, hairpins, to even a few clothes in back. I can’t even begin to count how many awesome things I have bought from this joint. My favorite is a pair of plastic fortune cookie earrings. Oh, but I do so love my two scrabble tile rings, too. I picked Q & T(get it?) This past trip I saw Barq’s bottles recut and repurposed into awesome drinking glasses… they’re definitely making it onto my Christmas list *hint. hint* I just love it when the creative recycling, reusing, or repurposing of objects turns out to be not only affordable and sustainable but wearable and funky, too!
