Still a great place to train despite the ONE negative review on Unilocal.I actually invited Wanda W. and I guess she didn’t know what to expect from a full-contact school. Not sure why being told to try your best is being perceived as disrespect. I thoroughly enjoy Sempai August’s classes as he is very knowledgeable and martial arts is his life. It wasn’t a kids karate class and it was taught appropriately for the level of skills on the mat that day. I am convinced that she misinterpreted the instructor’s good intentions. There is no modification in a full-contact style of karate. I encourage all who want to try this style to come in.

This has to be one of the worst classes I have ever experienced. The instructor was rude and seemed to be on a personal mission to embarrass me. My first problem with this class obviously is the instructor. I came to class with friends and it was our first time. I expected to obtain so type of basic understanding of karate and what the studio had to offer. Instead the class was just began like we had all been there before. One student started speaking in Japanese and we all just looked around. Then the instructor mentioned what was going on, as an after thought. This persisted throughout the class, Japanese commands, sometimes with explanation, sometimes without. My frustration continued when the instructor dropped into a split. We all just looked around, myself waiting to hear some type of modification. Instead we were sarcastically told«do the best you can.» When I asked for modification he again just sarcastically said«No, Do the best you can» He followed this up by saying«did you not stretch in p. e when you were in school?» Are you kidding me?! By this point I was completely over it but tried to keep a cool head for my friends. My breaking point is when we were being taught a fight stance and apparently my toes where not facing outward enough(I am pigeon toed) when I mentioned this the instructor said «So what! we all have disabilities, you are here to work past it, I have disabilities too» It was at this point I asked my friend what time the class was over and the instructor replied ” You can leave now this isn’t for everyone“ So I did exactly that. I have not felt so disrespected in sometime. What is the purpose of I trial class if you are not going to introduce the students to anything you are doing? The instructor treated the class like we were all returning students who didn’t do their homework. The instructor made a comment that«This is like the military, you don’t move unless I tell you to move» Well I’m sure in the military they give you directions in your native language before they yell them at you expecting you to know them. I am sure the other instructors are much better but because of this instructor I would never go back.

I train Capoeira here, and this is a great facility. The mats are always clean and the entire space ia very well kept. The owner Dice, is very kind, accomodating & humble. I highly recommend training here.

Simply the best Dojo in the city. Sensei Daisuke provides a warm, family atmosphere and he’s an amazing teacher! You can’t go wrong here for classes and more importantly for the children’s camp! Great value for the money as well.
