I can’t believe somebody gave this place one star. Sometimes I think people are too critical. Walking into this place was like going back to my childhood. Unlike Dylan’s you won’t get price gauged. They have a great collection of pez. I was greeted warmly. They saw me walking around with my hands full of candy for my nephews and made some helpful suggestions. I’ll be back soon :-)

I might give this place another shot, lest an initial impression unfairly injure a small business. I walked in to the patronless candy store, feeling airy enough to entertain my Smarties hankering. As I looked to my right at the wall of kitschy button candy and Sanrio branded treats, I asked myself, «what personality traits are necessary to lead a person to open a candy shop?» Before I had time to answer myself, I caught the eye of the man behind the counter. I won’t try to tell you what he was actually thinking, but neither friendly nor respectful was the look on his face. I quickly started perusing the wide Pez selection. Unable to find Smarties, I picked up a roll of Sprees.(I rarely see Sprees these days, and almost always buy them when I do.) At the counter, I queried their price. «One fifty.» he growled. «Really? I’m not used to paying that much for these,» I responded. «Fine,» he nearly spat at me. For the first time in my life, I walked out of a candy store, a microcosm of happy childhood, feeling like a cynical, pissed off grown-up.
