We’ve been at We Work 42nd Street for almost five months now and we’re happy to be here. In general the facilities are in good shape and the common areas are kept pretty clean. The people on our floor range from fashion companies to app developers to hedge funds so it’s a diverse group and everyone is congenial and friendly. The location is prime and there are lots of spots within a few blocks for lunch. Access to Grand Central Terminal makes the commute a breeze from anywhere in Manhattan, Queens or the BK which is great. I live in Long Island City and my commute typically runs in the 16 – 18 minute range, door to desk. Beat that! Only two things come to mind that bother me. First, it is very noisy. The floors are hollow so when someone walks down the halls it sounds like Andre the Giant is stomping around in steel soled boots when in fact it’s just a woman in heels. If you need quiet to be productive this is absolutely not the place for you. Secondly, sometimes the bathrooms get messy. That said, I’m not sure if it’s because some people are utter savages who don’t understand what is supposed to go IN the toilet, not on it or around it, or if the staff needs to clean it on a more regular basis. Maybe it’s a combination of the two? Other than that, we’re pretty satisfied and have just signed up for a bigger space to accommodate our growth. I’ve already recommended this location and the company to others.
