I came in here to get lunch. I ordered shrimp with garlic sauce. They offer brown rice as an option at no extra cost so I got that with my meal. It took about 8 minutes to get my food at which point I forgot what I ordered. The only thing that made me sure what I ordered was the brown rice. I thought the lunch special came with soup or soda but I was mistaken. The lunch special just means the price is lower than for dinner. The shrimp with garlic sauce had large diced green bell peppers, baby corn, thinly sliced carrot, broccoli florets, sliced water chestnuts, large pieces of white onion, and half cooked white button mushrooms. It had a good amount of heat. There were also 6 jumbo shrimp. Many times the hot dishes at these Chinese fast food places are not that hot to me. That wasn’t the case for this meal.

went there once. the to-go order, for one person, took forever. the place is pretty dirty too — tape residue all over the ways from whatever they had posted over the years. the walls are essentially bathroom tiles. the wall area by the heater on the floor is all broken with exposed sheetrock. tables were dirty. food on the floor. My chicken dish tasted like whatever fishy thing they cooked in the wok before getting to my order.

Decent food. Terrible customer service. Delivery man could not find my building, and then calls to yell at me from the service entrance. Crab Rangoon was delicious though.

Excellent food!!! Great place for take out order. Super simple. Super local. Everytime we come here or pass by it’s full of local people. Always busy lunch and dinner. Diverse crowd. Highly recommended if you are in the area. Look forward to eating here again on my next visit to NYC.

Good prices, good portions, and fairly good food(within the americanized chinese takeout category)…but THEDELIVERYGUYISHORRIBLE(it’s the same one every time)! if you aren’t waiting right by the door to immediately open it as soon as he rings, he will continue to ring the bell(it’s never taken me more than 5 or 6 seconds to open the door… that is not fast enough for his liking). Once HETRIEDTOOPENMYDOORFROMTHEOUTSIDETOLETHIMSELFIN! That was the last straw. I am never ordering from this place again! Order from Happy Family on 10th ave at 43rd street. Their delivery staff has always been friendly and courteous.

My first visit to NYC and was really looking forward to, what I thought, would be much superior Chinese food to what I am used to in Portland Oregon. Boy was I disappointed by Weng’s. The whole meal is what I would call pedestrian. I recognize that it is Chinese food, and it wasn’t horrible, it was just very average, My order cosnsited of pot stickers, pork buns, beef chow fun and chicken with pea pods. The appetizers where OK. Not bad, but not great, pot sticker sauce to me tasted like just soy sauce. Flavor-wise, they are what I could get back home. I am not mad at the pork buns or pot stickers, but nothing special. Beef chow fun had no flavor. None. I would say the same for the Chicken with pea pods. very bland. Thank goodness they sent along some say sauce and hot sauce. I needed both to make them taste like something. Also, the order of chicken with pea pods, what I got was chicken with vegetables and a few pea pods. If I would have wanted that, I would have ordered the chicken and vegetables. i hate to be a hater, but my Weng’s experience was not a good one. I guess I will have to wait until my next visit to NYC to get good Chinese food.

Still waiting on food to arrive. Poor customer service. Might be yummy but I couldn’t tell ya.

I would give 0 stars if I could. They charge you extra for paying by credit card without warning and the girl at the front counter was a nasty b*tch. Not worth the aggravation.

No A/C in the summer. Nearly died the evening I came in. Food was okay. Very limited seating, much like a fast food restaurant set up if they served Chinese food in there. You could do worse.

The. Slowest. Gave them several chances. Even the smallest, simplest order takes almost an hour… even though delivery is only 3 blocks away.

Cheap and no frills Chinese food! Had the egg foo young and it was quite delicious. Perfect food after a long day of walking all over NYC. We got take out and grubbed back at our hotel.

Americanized Chinese food but received fast eat in service, food was served hot, large portions, comfy. Only problem if any was they should wipe some of their tables for their customers but everything else was fine :-)

Took an hour and a half to deliver it one block away. Food was cold. I ordered chicken and broccoli and it came with no sauce! just oily water. I had to add soy sauce, but eventually just threw it away. Who the hell wants slimy chicken and broccoli with no sauce? Disgusting.

This place can keep it. Some guy from Weng’s barged into our office and started throwing down menu’s on everyone’s desk.

What I really liked about this is that it wasn’t overrun by tourists… In fact we were in there for an hour, and no one that would pass as a tourist walked in. The staff was friendly, and despite the other reviews, it’s not a dirty place, its just dated and looks like it caters more to the takeout crowd. The food was ok, about what you’d expect from this type of small, family owned restaurant whether its in Manhattan, NY, or in Manhattan, KS. Its cheap, portions are good, and didn’t take long to get our order. If you’re looking for local, cheap, and tourist-free dining, this is your place!

Located in the shadows of Port Authority is where you’ll find Weng’s Palace. This place is run down, dirty, but that just means it will serve up some cheap Chinese food. Once you step inside you’ll know that décor isn’t what this place is known for. With tables scattered around the floor, you surely can eat here, but not many people do. I myself opt for the Seamless method, in which the minimum delivery is $ 8. As far as food goes, they do give you pretty large portions, so needless to say, you’re getting your money’s worth. On the flip side, the dishes tend to be overly sweet, and yes, immensely greasy. What better way to celebrate a night of drinking than to order some delivery at Weng’s Palace?

oh I have had better sooo much better and for the same price. I went here becuase a co-worker said the lunch deals are only 5 – 6 bucks which was true. But I got a 2⁄3 of rice and 1⁄3 was broccoli and beef:(Honestly this was my fault I should have know by the crowd and place it was not going to please me but a meal for $ 6 buck i could not pass up… well here I truly got what I paid for. Enter at you own risk!!!

Another cheap Chinese place by the Port Authority where I can get a meal which will either fill me up for the next many hours or that I can’t even finish because the portions are too big. all for under 10 bucks. Just as a side note, when having Chinese, PLEASE share. Portions are huge. This is a lesson I never seem to learn. Anyways, the place is very small but just big enough that you can sit in and eat if you want. Food is decent for Chinese takeout. Don’t expect gourmet cuisine in Chinatown. Be sure to make sure the staff gives you cutlery, napkins, Chinese noodle chips, etc. the girl there today did not and I had to ask for several things after I was given my food. Oh, and of course, be ready to be harassed by homeless bums that walk in there.

I had high hopes. What Chinese place can screw up Sweet & Sour Chicken, right? Well the sauce is so watery and doesn’t taste like anything. When I poured the sauce on the chicken it immediately soaked in and ruined the chicken and the rice. My meal came with an egg roll, didn’t get it. The can of Mountain Dew was good.

UNDERNOCIRCUMSTANCEWILLYOUEATHERE… Not only is the food nasty, the services leaves a worse tast in your mouth. I was there the afternoon of 4÷21÷13 and ordered food for afriend, since there is a 10 dollar credit card minimum, I was forced to order for other people to meet the minimum requirement. The attitude and rudeness of the cashier was unacceptable and somewhat rude. it go to the point where I cancelled my order and requested a refund which she refused stating the sale aready went through. At that time a customer came up with his food complaining that it was distasteful and had no flavor, Another customer complained of hair in her food. Albeit the price is right, you get what you pay for. I will never come here again. Service was crap and food was worse.
