I have to come and finish this review, because I don’t wanna just left an unfinished rating. In general ok food, but the take out took forever and I have to cancel it, and one of the host there was really mean, Dislike this place anymore.

Couple of work lunch here as its so close to the office but it’s really garbage! Possibly the worst sushi I have ever had! Service can be very spotty too(my salad came with dressing twice before the simple«no dressing«was granted!

So basically the food here is mediocre at best. A limited but reasonable quality of the types of sushi you would expect in any small town in America. This isn’t a small town, it’s nyc. Beyond that is the fundamental rudeness, ignorance and lack of professionalism of the staff. An order can take an hour and a half from two blocks down the street and if you call the cheerful moron on the phone there says«oh, it’s okay, it just left» then hangs up. I strongly suggest you stay away from these people. There are many far better choices in the neighborhood.

A few coworkers and I came in on a Tuesday at around 12 and it wasn’t too packed yet. The place isn’t huge so I can see it getting pretty busy. They have lunch specials, which come with your choice of miso soup or a side salad. The salad dressing was really gingery so if you don’t like ginger, you might want to ask for it on the side, or maybe opt for the soup. I went with the sushi sashimi lunch. It comes with 3pcs of sushi, 7pcs of sashimi, and a tuna roll or california roll. I have no complaints. Everything tasted fresh. It is a bit pricey for a lunch but it’s sushi in Battery Park, so the prices are pretty standard for the city. If you’re not interested in sushi, they have other dishes, like fried rice, noodles, pad Thai — basically a mix of different Asian cuisines.

The food here is OK if you want Asian and work or live in Battery Park but go in knowing that it will probably be adequate at best. It gets busy during the week during lunch from the business lunch crowd. Otherwise, it’s pretty empty. I had the general tso’s chicken which is fine but pretty heavy with a sweet, overpowering sauce. The lunch special also comes with a side. I went with the salad which is a pretty straightforward salad with not much dressing to speak of. Go to Ho Yip instead if you want some Asian food, it’ll save you a few bucks too. Expect to spend around $ 20 for lunch.

Horrible. Would give it no stars. Not only is the food not worth the price you consistently get delivered the wrong meals with no effort to correct or refund for the customer… here the customer is never right. Go anywhere else.

Very ordinary taste. It caters mostly to the office crowd in lower Manhattan who probably don’t mind paying higher than usual price for barely ok Chinese food. The only plus side was the prompt service.

Ordered food from Wei West. The quality wasn’t superb but I was craving Singapore noodles and it’s one of the only restaurants in the area that has them. I also chuckle evert time I read the name. Hehe.

Stopped in for lunch and shared a couple of dishes with friends. The General Tso’s chicken was great, the chow fun was fantastic the sauce in this dish was great and everyone wanted more. The sushi was made to order and seemed to be of high quality fresh ingredients. Would definitely go back

Omg I love this place. If your ever at Loopey Doopey and want a great selection of sushi and happy hour, this is the place to be. I don’t remember what rolls we ordered but they’re very tasty!

Flavor! That is what is needed at Wei West! I have ordered from here a couple of times and even been to the restaurant a few times. However, each time I am left liking one dish and wishing the other had more flavor. My favorite dish from them hands down WAS the vegetable Bhutanese red rice… it was so good I even tried to replicate it at home(I failed miserably of course). I recently learned that the dish is no longer on the menu and so there goes any motivation for me to order from them again. The rest of the dishes that I have tried such as Kung Pao Chicken or Chicken Lo Mein have left me wishing that the dishes had a bigger punch flavor wise. Overall the food is just ok and for what I get too pricey as well. Overall, if you’re looking for Thai or Chinese food in the downtown area, skip Wei West because the food is strictly just«ok.»

Ordered from here a couple of times. The Thai food is somewhat ok but everything else is horrible. Sometimes it seems as if they’re short On ingredients so they add whatever they have lying around. Most recently I ordered a beef lo mein and they didn’t use the correct noodles.

As someone who is gluten free, I was so excited when I saw this place! It got 3 stars on Unilocal and 5 on the gluten free app. We never go to restaurant that has less than 4 stars on Unilocal but we decided to give this place a try bc it had so many Asian gluten free options. We ordered the Manhattan roll and NYGiant roll which were both disgusting. The combination of ingredients made the sushi unpalatable. I would not order the sushi here. Stick to the gluten free sesame chicken which was good. Perhaps the non Japanese foods are better. The food did not trigger any of my gluten symptoms which was nice.

Ok i know it’s battery park, but REALLY? I think a well trained Mexican cook can make better Chinese food than this restaurant. I came with 4 friends, one Hongkongnese, one Szchuanese, one Singaporean, one Malaysian and one American Caucasian. It’s barely mediocre but very pricy– 26/person?! Portion is big but it only makes things worse when it’s not good! Should’ve gotten shake shack next door. We are not coming back.

Gluten-Free Chinese food menu is very lengthy. I ordered sesame chicken. And it tastes fantastic! I only wish they did deliver a larger radius, had to pick it up. Also be sure to ask for the gluten-free soy sauce. The place looked very cute from what I saw, I will have to eat in next time!

You know you’ve ordered well when the kid next to you orders the same thing as you, the Shank Beef Noodle Soup w. Kimchee was large and very tasty! «My son saw yours and knew he had to have it!» «I hope he can make more of a dent than I could» Wei West is one of those places you have to tell them from the get go you’re running late to your next meeting, and you’ll still be sitting there an hour and half later thinking, good thing I blocked my calendar for 2 hours. A wide offering of Asian cuisine and in the heart of Goldman Alley to get you back in time for your 2 o’clock.

OK really nice place but honestly not the best sushi I’ve ever had. I came here after work one late rainy night with my colleague to grab something before his basketball game. We ordered: –Edamame w. Sea Salt –Singapore Noodle: roast pork, shrimp, eggs, thin rice noodles, a hint of curry –Tuna Lover: Crunchy tuna avocado topped with spicy tuna, red and wasabi caviar an spicy aioli –Golden Eye: Crunchy spicy salmon and mango topped with salmon, jalapeño, red and yuzu caviar with sweet miso, beet and wasabi sauce it was good and the portions were plentiful. Ok spot in a pinch.

This place is phenomenal and I hate anyone who gives it less than 5 stars. The food here is great quality; it’s fresh, service is attentive and the prices are completely reasonable. For happy hour any night, you can enjoy $ 5 wine, free edamame, and appetizers until 7:30, which you can’t get anywhere else nearby. Try the tar tar, lychee martini, or sushi here. If you don’t like it here, you can easily blow your money at any of the classy establishments nearby.
