I wanted to restore a 1948GE radio. Bruce was polite and efficient in analyzing the problem The two-week target date for repair was met. Not only did he repair the inside, but he restored the outside as well. You would benefit using him for your radio repairs and also looking into buying from his shop. He has a lot of fascinating vintage items

I brought in an old radio to be repaired. Owner just shook her head and said that it’s worthless and she didn’t care much for it, she recommended it’s not of any value and to throw it away, would not even look at it closely. Kept shaking her head at me and was very flustered. When I asked if she even cared for it, said not at all, it’s worthless, even though I was just trying to get it repaired. Very rude.

I looked around for ages to find a place that would repair my broken KLH Model 21. Most places told me they wouldn’t repair anything made before 1970 so I turned to the forums, which is how I found this place. Charlotte at Waves took in my busted radio and two weeks later gave me back a machine that was even better than it was before. It sings, talks, hums, and the knobs were cleaned to boot. An A+ experience.

as an antique collector, i have come across many eccentric dealers over the years. the owners of wavesllc are a perfect example. actually, i am rather envious? they must be quite wealthy. a few months ago, i sent one of the owners pictures of antique radios i wanted to BUY. i also spoke to her on the phone and pointed out some specific models from pictures i saw online. result: no response & complete blow off. again, i wanted to BUY radios not SELL them to her. must be nice? they must do well on nyc foot traffic because their website is horrible. its almost NEVER updated with new items which is an online death sentence if you sell antiques on the internet! oh well???

Beware! This place is terrible and the owner, Charlotte, has a lot to learn about customer service – it’s been over a month and I have been unsuccessful in even obtaining an estimate to do a restoration project – even with repeated follow-up phone calls. Apathetic, with plenty of excuses, she even told me «we’ve been a bit lazy.» Can you believe a business owner actually said that?

Ah nostalgia, some psychologists treat it like a disease, and looking at some of the crap in my home I agree. And yet, I say, «Prepare yourself for a dusty trip back in time.» Take a Zyrtek, put on the $.99 respirator that you’ve kept unused since 9⁄12 and go take a look at this place. Its worth it! Waves has some pretty cool antique technology, Radios, TVs, wind up phonographs, 8-tracks. Some are absolutely beautiful and others… well lets just say they would have been better off left in the attics they were probably resurrected from.
