I live on this block, and the sheer convenience lures me in from time to time. I’m always hopeful, but WITHOUTFAIL there is a long snaking line and only one or two registers open. No matter the time of day — it’s pretty magical. Unclear why they don’t call for more support in the front, as there are always a few more employees milling around. Also, the photo printer is broken, so my prints came out all streaky and oddly colored. They gave me a full refund, but not without some bellyaching on my part… The selection is pretty standard for a drugstore, but on the whole you’d be much better off going to the Duane Reades on 1st and 3rd…

Literally worst staff. Everyone is incompetent or too lazy to learn their store or products. The manager Cynthia is extremely rude left me on hold for 20 min over the phone multiple times.

Wish I could give zero stars. Service is consistently rude, slow, and incompetent. Prices are badly uncompetitive also.

Quick update — the staffers were undergoing the holiday transitions, but the biggest obstacle to their business now is that massive construction building for the 2nd Ave Subway sitting outside their door blocking the entire city block. I didn’t even realize I was walking past the Walgreens door until I was already past it — they may want to put a better banner out or something.

I just went there this evening. I gave the cashier a coupon. She rung up my order while looking at the coupon in her hand. Despite this fact, she failed to credit me, and when I pointed it out, she replied that I should have told her about the coupon that she had in her friggin hand. Rather than deal with the credit herself, she made me wait for the manager, who seemed stoned. He keep asking for the coupon and just gazed blankly at me while he struggled for another 10 minutes to figure out my credit. The store has some of the dumbest and rudest people that I have ever encountered in my 28 plus years living in the city.

It really is just the same as every other Walgreens just not as big. The staff at checkout could be friendlier. They have good selections considering the size, but I’m still a fan and use this as my photo center. Prices are fair and it’s 24 hours, so when you desperately need that 3 am face wash or 4 am frozen dinner, you’re covered.

It’s a Walgreens, keep your expectations in check. Pharmacy is slow and the assistants are annoying girls that think its funny to chase off customers by telling them the wait will be long. Seriously, I’ve watched this happen. My biggest gripe is the HEAT!!! In the summer its HOT, in the winter, it’s HOT. I think the manger is from warmer climates and prefers it that hot but I can’t last more than 10 minutes sometimes. And don’t buy any chocolate here because the heat causes it to degrade. I have had to throw away several bags I have bought on different occasions. It is always discolored and covered in a white film. Moving soon so I can find a new one.

Their pharmacy is slow, understaffed, disorganized. Go elsewhere. Even to another Walgreens. I waited an hour, only to find out they didn’t have my prescription.

Open 24 hours. Even the pharmacy department is 24 hours. Good prices. This Walgreens has actually just been through little renovation and the store looks great. The weekly sale items are always in stock and if not the manager would help you order more for their next shipment. Good customer service. Managers will make sure you’re being taken care of.

This Walgreen’s doesn’t match the super-extensive selection of its duplex sister stores at, say, Astor Place or on Broadway in the 90s. But because it’s a Walgreen’s, prices are consistently lower than those of its neighboring competitor chains(DR /CVS). And it’s open 24 hours! For the best prices — nay, for INCREDIBLE bargains — always ask for a copy of their EasySaver coupon booklet at the front-register and stack up your savings by combining those with weekly sale items.

This Walgreens opened the day I moved into my apartment across the street and it became like my second home. Sometimes I would have to go in there three or four times a day. The cashiers and pharmacists were super nice and helpful. The problem with this Walgreens is that it doesn’t have as much selection as other Walgreens or other drug stores in the city and it was often out of items we needed. In any case, it served its purpose – providing essential food and drug items 24 hours a day at better prices than the local bodega. Walgreens, I will miss you.
