LOVELOVELOVE the VBH handbags — the clutches to be exact! I absolutely ADORE the store itself. It’s majestic. It is the sort of place you would like to live. A dark large wood slat floor. Super high ceilings. Large rooms. Very un-store like. Über chic. Über cool. I kinda just wanted to plop myself down on the plush leather couch and sip my coffee. And just look, adoringly at all the lovely handbags. And dream. Of living this life. I had to wake up. And why. Oh why. My dear VBH do you not believe in a sale during this tough economy? I weep for I can buy your lovely handbags at Bergdorf’s on sale. No worries. I still love you.

What do I love more than running clothes and cool GPS gadgets? Luxurious leather goods! *drool* The interesting thing about this store is that it is very discreet. From the outside, you would never think it was a retail establishment. There are no products merchandised in the windows and there is no large store front sign. However, you walk into the store and are greeted with a beautiful setting, gorgeous architecture housing many many gorgeous bags and jewelry. Someone told me VBH meant«Very Beautiful Handbags,» and I believed him for about three minutes, but it is actually the initials of Bruce Hoeksema, a former colleague of Valentino. The leather goods are amazing — clutches, hobos and totes made with leather, lizard, crocodile, python and ostrich. Each soft and supple and absolutely gorgeous. The clutches are very delicate, especially the python skinned. I don’t think I could last a year carrying it around. The building itself is beautiful. Formerly a bank, the bottom level has a gorgeous safe with truly unique jewelry. Lots of rose cut diamonds, paves, amethyst and emeralds, I saw a lot of beautiful pieces that seem more like art pieces than something I’d wear. If you love luxury and leather, VBH is a place worth visiting.
