Once again, V&A did a terrific job. I was buying a couch off of Craig’s List. We had a tight turn around — It had to be picked up exactly at 10am — the guys even beat me to the pick-up location. And after they delivered the couch they helped us tighten the bolts and make sure it was ready to be enjoyed. I seem to get the same 2 guys each time and all I can say is they are the best! I so appreciate their professionalism.

I’ve used these guys twice now to pick up stuff from Housing Works and deliver it up a four flights of narrow stairs. The two guys picked up at Housing Works the day I called them(Housing Works has a 48 hour removal policy, so I was in a pinch) and brought up a giant 7ft tall secretary desk/chest to the fifth floor. The damn thing must have weighed a ton, but they put it in the desired room, unwrapped it, and even screwed the top onto the base for me! They were super nice and helpful. It’s a tiny operation, but I didn’t have any problems!

WARNINGDONOTEVERUSETHEM! They are the worst moving company ever. We scheduled them for a 1 bedroom move — we gave them a list of furniture and then said additional boxes from which they gave us a quote. When the movers arrived this morning they said it was too much stuff and they couldn’t do our move… and said the only way was we paid them 3x what we were quoted… an absolutely ridiculous number. We asked them to at least move the furniture and we would move the boxes and they just LEFT saying they didnt have time to do the move and couldnt do it… even though they had printed out documents of the items they were supposed to move. They left us in a huge bind and their boss, who’ve I have been emailing with and dealing with the entire time now will not answer my phone calls. My friend used them in the past and said she was not satisfied. They are rude and do not communicate well and left us in a HUGE bind. There are SO many more moving companies that are much better. DONOTEVERUSETHEM! this is my first post on Unilocal ever i had to send a warning because they are SO awful

I would give ZERO if I could. Like the other mentioned, housing work recommended this mover to us. We needed to move a 86 inched couch from 14th St to 115th St. The agreement was they arrived at 11am to take the couch. Since the building has strict restriction, my husband had to take the couch out on the street and wait for them to arrive when it was the said time. But the movers, having texted and called to reassure their being punctual, was more than an hour late. Guys, it was snowing! My husband waited for more than an hour in the cold! After they finally arrived, they said there was no space for my husband. So he took the subway. Again, more than an hour wait, they just didn’t show up. My husband took the morning off hoping to get this done, ended up asking them to keep the couch till the next day. 1. It wasn’t rush hour. 2. They texted and called to said they would arrive at both location shortly but didn’t. The price was $ 120 for moving one couch. I’d say not too bad. But if you are thinking to do what my husband did, take a morning off and get the moving done. You may want to think again.

V & A Trucking was recommended to me by Housing Works. It’s a small operation that will move one or two or three pieces of furniture if you happen to buy from a thrift store.(I’m sure they would move new furniture as well but usually the store will deliver for free if you buy brand new furniture.) At any rate, this moving service is WONDERFUL! ***I purchased a full size sofa from Housing Works on the Upper West Side at 1:15pm. I called Victor at V & A Trucking and he had two of his men deliver it to my 3rd floor apartment by 4pm! He charged me $ 95 which was very fair because the sofa also had to be carried it up two flights of steps! *** His delivery men took extra care with my sofa too. They wrapped it in moving pads before they left Housing Works and were very careful moving it in the lobby of my building as to not scratch the main door or walls. They had it up two flights of steps in no time and kindly brought it into my living room. They were polite when speaking to me and careful to not scratch my walls or tare the sofa. They also made sure to pick up their moving pads and not leave anything behind. I really appreciated their professionalism and quickness in moving my sofa and tipped them accordingly. I had an excellent experience with V & A Trucking and would highly recommend them to anyone who only needs to move 1 or 2 or 3 pieces of furniture in the city.
