We have been here a few times now and have always had a very good experience. We were greeted upon arrival and immediately seated. All staff were pleasant. The restaurant itself can get pretty crowded and cramped. The tables are rather small and chairs are not too comfortable. But, that does not deter me from coming back as the food is excellent. There is also a small outside seating area which we had never tried before. On this occasion, we asked to go outside since it was a beautiful night. It would have been nice to have dinner outside, but they had a rather pesky ant problem that seemed to be coming from the neighboring garden. We decided to go back inside rather than deal with the ants. We have had the opportunity to try a variety of items on the menu. My favorite is the borek. If you have never had it and are a fan of dill, you need to try them. They are cigar shaped, fried pastry that are stuffed with cheese and dill. There are times when we will stop in here just for them. Everyone in our party that night ordered the bronzino special for a main course. The bronzino was cooked and seasoned perfectly. It was served with a salad which was nice, but I thought it was a little salty. The others in my party however, loved it. For dessert, I had the chocolate pudding. It was good. The others all had the rice pudding which was excellent. We were also given some turkish tea on the house. That was a nice touch. We will definitely be back!

We love this restaurant and come here a couple times a year. Last night we went to celebrate our wedding anniversary. I had the grilled octopus special which was delicious. Tender and tasty. With an interesting salad which included mint, lentils and cabbage in addition to various greens and another side of bulgar. My husband the grilled chicken and eggplant. Again wonderful. And we started the meal with their off the menu special of grilled peppers with yogurt and tomato sauce. Not spicy, but really delicious. I always look forward to that. I highly highly recommend this restaurant. Lovely ambiance and the wait staff are so warm and pleasant!

Nice waiters and hostesses, though some could see them as pushy toward more expensive dishes. Anyone glancing at the menu from outside will be asked to come in. Great ambience for groups. Turkish coffee wasn’t the greatest. Food about average.

Looked for a place slightly off the beaten path and found exactly what I was looking for. Great food, super friendly service. Really enjoyed the experience! Lamb with eggplant kebab was so tasty. Special of the night was a tender lamb shank, also great! Finished with Turkish cotton candy and hot tea — brilliant finish! Definitely worth a visit if you’re looking for a cozy place to dine.

Should have known better when they dragged us in at 10 pm when we were on our way to our favorite place… Food not very good and i have eaten a lot of turkish food. Prices extremely high for what you are getting. We ordered two specials and they were not worth the 28 or 29 $ we paid. My branzino was a tiny tasteless fish with absolutely no seasoning and still had part of the guts inside… It was not properly cleaned! Gross! It was about a thimble full of food. The rest of the plate was salad. There are so many other good restaurants on 9th ave… Appetizer waitress said was delicious was simply roasted red peppers with some yogurt for $ 15. Really? A chimp could have concocted that meal… No wonder the name is so unmemorable… the food is too! Stay away! A complete rip off with crummy food.

Food is ok, tea is good, tho they only bring it by glass. One thing i did not like, that they bring you a platter of sweets to chose from, but you are not aware of the prices(they do not give you the menu with the sweets, which are probably listed in the menu you ordered food from, but who looks at the desert prices before end of dinner…) and they are not cheap. Made me feel a bit taken for a ride. Not going back there ever…

TaSTY, BUTTHEBILLIS A SHOCKER! 25.95 for a small plate w 3 lamb koftas, 16.95 for a scant combo appetizer platter, 9.00 a beer, 9.95 for a rice pudding. I was shocked, and not even full! The prices on the items we ordered were not on the menu nor mentioned to us.

Solid 3 stars. This place is just… Large and affordable menu. Very small tables inside and close quarters– so get ready to snuggle up with theatre goers who just hopped out of the bus from out of town in their mom sneaks. The food was fine. Not bad. Just fine. Service was a bit slow but very nice. Got some water finally and even though it was in m’wine glass I was just thankful. And, in the middle of the dining room lies a desk with a computer. A woman sits behind it, not waiting tables and stared at everyone around her. The desk included a phone and her prescription pill bottle. WHY! I can’t describe this and you have to see it for yourself. I probably would go elsewhere if I wanted some slammin Turkish food. This was good but not memorable for me.

I really liked it — had the yellow peppers appetizer — with eggplant & tomatoes — VERY tasty. My husband had the lamb shank — HUGE and very tasty — he ate every scrap. I had the Branzini, which they offered to take off the bones for me, but that’s half the fun. Turkish coffee good, and we tried two desserts, a spongy odd tasting cake and a creamier version of the same — I wish I remembered what they were called. My only thumbs down is it is a bit pricy — they kinda glaze over cost when rattling off specials — which they talk you into because they sound so tempting.

I really wanted to like this place. The food was really good and the décor was lovely but my friends and I had such a disastrous experience here with our waiter. I was there with my roommate and her brother. Our waiter was a little pushy but very friendly, so that was fine at first. We thought he was just trying to be helpful, so it didn’t really bother us. We were trying to pick out appetizers to share and we were considering getting an appetizer platter for $ 25, but then we decided $ 25 was too much for appetizers. So then our waiter told us he «highly recommended» that we get the«appetizer specials» instead — orange peppers and eggplant. We asked him how much those would be and all would say is that it was«cheaper» than the appetizer platter, and how much he «highly recommended» we do that. So whatever. We got the orange peppers and the eggplant. Which were delicious, by the way. I’ll give them that. So were our entrees. But the whole experience was tainted by the fact that after finishing our food, we got our bill and found out that the peppers and eggplants were $ 14EACH. So not only did we get much LESS food than we would have gotten if we had ordered the appetizer platter we were thinking of originally, but we ended up paying more. AND, after all of that, he «accidentally» overcharged our cards when he gave us the bill. Maybe that was an honest mistake but it didn’t help that that happened after the whole appetizer fiasco. Thankfully, he at least fixed that after we pointed it out to him. Anyways, maybe I just got unlucky, but I don’t plan on coming back.

Went here on a Tuesday night and it wasn’t too packed. I never tried Turkish Food before so i’m still not too familiar with it. The place was very decorative and the waiter was super upbeat. He recommended this chicken dish with spinach which was fantastic. Their desert was great too. The only issue I have with this place is that it is fairly on the expensive side. Overall, I would return! The restaurant felt very homey. It was like i was in someone’s living room. I like that element.

This place can leave you with the warm, fuzzy sweet feeling — 1 extra star for service! We stumbled upon this while looking for something new to try. Loved their vegetarian selection, beverages and appetizers. I liked the Turkish Tea. And if you’re in a hurry, can stuff up on their appetizers(works for my wife).

My friend and I were in a rush and went into this place for a quick bite. Upon arrival we told the hostess we were strapped for time and she recommended apps. We ordered the liver and salad and it arrived at our table in 5 minutes! Not only were they quick but the food was delicious. The liver was tasty mixed with veggies Total time in and out about 30 mins Will return to try other things on the menu

Great Turkish food. The falafel we got as appetizers were fantastic. I ordered the lamb with yogurt dish and it was amazing(really rich, so I couldn’t finish the entire thing). The interior was small but very well decorated and homey. For my beverage, I ordered the Turkish cherry juice, which was alright.

Not coming back. Food: mediocre Turkish Cuisine I ordered the kofte from the lunch menu. It was not grounded and did not come with any sauce. I was disappointed. Service: fair The waitress was great but the manager/owner did not want to take my 10% off bill coupon without looking at it. She told me said it was a buy one get one free. I had to correct her but she did not correct the bill. Décor: excellent The decorations on the walls are gorgeous.

I was hoping for amazing experience but I found the food to be average and service to be subpar — which puts me at 2.5 stars. There were six of us and most felt the same as me unfortunately. We started out with the hummus and pita, which was actually pretty good. But after that, we found the rest of the dishes to be pretty average. We didn’t find the service to be too friendly — it was a little odd, I think we were a well behaved group! But reading a few other reviews this appears to be a common experience. It seemed kind of pricey for what we ordered as well.

I had a very nice lunch here, and I like how it’s decorated inside, with white table cloths on the table, bright mosaics and plants along the walls. The service was also pleasant, I felt like someone’s aunt was serving us. She seemed a little frazzled with my request for tea and it took me awhile to get it but she had such a nice smile it didn’t even bother me. The cucumber/yoghurt appetizer I had was heavenly and I saved some to smear on my lamb kabobs and rice later. I know, like a kid, but it was that good. I would say the rest of the food tasted like somewhat better than standard Turkish fare, though maybe a little heavy on the onions. Over all a very enjoyable meal at a moderate price.
