Tu DO Restaurant Corporation

Went there today … The appetizer, spring rolls, sucked!!! Plus they had three different waiters serving us at the same me. It was strange… On top of that they were cheap with the heat and charged me 25 cents for ice … Who does that 0_​o ??? Might not got here again is just one of those places you pass by…

In a city of thousands of restaurants, finding a good Vietnamese restaurant shouldn’t be quite a daunting task right. Sadly, it is. I’ve tried many and this Tu Do has become the defacto restaurant for when I crave Vietnamese food. Right now the some of the best are found in Brooklyn (Sunset Park) or Philly. It isn’t completely Vietnamese as most establishment here in the city since it is Viet-​Chinese. But what sets it is that the Vietnamese food is done consistently right. The décor is about what you expect from a typical Vietnamese restaurants… crystal chandliers pulsating, Christmas decorations mixed with Valentine’s Day.
The Phở, you can smell it … the broth slightly fatty, flavorful beef broth with a hint of the different seasonings (star anise, cinnamon and fish sauce). The ratio of noodle to meat is a skimpy but is enough. This is one of the better ones I’ve tasted in the city… I won’t name names… (Most are bland, watery, no flavor hot water with noodles and meat.). The Bun Rieu is equally comforting and closes to my mom’s. The Goi Cuon is freshly made, the Banh Beo is good, as is the Ban Cuon arriving with the assorted sides. Very few restaurants have this dish and it is one of my favorite Vietnamese dishes and is done right. Grilled pork with rice/​vermicelli is satisfying good with fresh vegetables underneath. The fruit smoothies is also a favorite. The weakness here is the spicy fish sauce that is like ketchup for us a bit watered down and lack the complex ingredients. Then there is the back of the menu with the assorted Chinese dishes for those who want it.
I never go back that far.

I just went back tonight, They got a «A» rating. I noticed in the past that the waiter staff were properly clean up and groomed. Keep up the good work!!!
