The Arepa was really really messy. Only good thing I tried was the Tequeyoyos. Fast delivery though.

I LOVE this place. Right down the block from my house. The staff is very friendly. The food is great! My only thing is the increase of prices. When I first started coming here, a yoyo(my favorite thing on the menu) used to be $ 5. Now it’s gone up to $ 6.25, in a matter of a year and a half. They have gained a lot of popularity which explains the price increase. However, I’ve been coming less ever since because of this. Still doesn’t take away the fact that it’s great tasting food. The palitos de queso(cheese sticks) are bomb!

I called to ask the wait time was & the woman said 45 min. I said, okay & ordered my food. I ordered at 7:50. At 9:05 i called to ask where is my food and the woman assured me it was on the way. I call again at 9:35 and a guy said my food just left lol. Like who the fuck is paying these liars? If your having a busy day just say it & apologize for the delay. He tells me to wait just 2 or 3 more minutes that he should be here any second. Now, i done ordered Chinese food & ate it already. Its 10:02. My cachapa STILL aint here. Smh. Horrible service & not even a courtesy phone call to tell me if my food is on the way or anything. NEVEREVERAGAIN! I honestly dont even think these niggas even put in the order.

I’ve only had the cachapas and the Yaroas here but both of them are good. I wish they’d put more meat in it so they don’t get 5 stars bc of that, but otherwise, this is pretty good especially when you’re drunk.

This review is for delivery and it was my first experience. I have not been there in person, but I was noooot feeling it. I got the Mozzarella cheese cachapa and the taqueyoyos. It was oily, messy and doused in crema. Not very cheesy either. I ended up eating the cheese and throwing most of the rest away. I might try to go in person and give it another try!

Seemingly always open! A small place, but the staff are friendly and you’ll have something to watch on the TV. The kitchen keeps a good hustle, and the food is The Best Drunk Cheap Meal in Washington Heights. Don’t hesitate to ask extra sauce!

This place has amazing food. It’s open 24 hours a day and the people on the phone are great and bilingual! You can also order the food online and everything tastes freshly made. If you are looking for something quick to fill you up then this is perfect. Their delivery time is great as well. Highly recommend!

I ordered from this place a few times because it’s close to work. Tried their pernil cachapa, and it came really fast-so I’m happy with their delivery service. The pernil was a little cold, and the cachapa itself was missing flavor. I ordered a Tamarindo drink and it tasted like it was outdated. I have made tamarindo, and it should not taste rancid. I was disappointed in having paid $ 2 for a drink and then had to throw it out. I have had better in other places. Overall it’s decent for $ 8.00 but I would not order their fresh waters again.

This is my first taste of Venezuelan food, and it’s absolutely delicious! I recommend the«tacucho«with«carne mechada«!! It’s a wrap with beef. It includes lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, and a special sauce. For only 8 $ I was delighted.

Order food online, and they have the nerve to call 10 minutes after the estimated time of food arrival to ask if i want them to send the food!(keep in mind the charge was already done) i dont know if they thought i was going to say, o its fine, keep the food and my money too!

Apas is a horrible disease and all of the employees here have it. Be careful if you come to this location, because it’s very likely that you might«Catch Apas.» It can affect more than one people, which is why it’s not uncommon — if you bring a friend — for«Tu» to «Cachapas» here. What to get: YoYo plantains by themselves with nothing on them. What else: YoYos with stuff on them. Ham and cheese is a bit better than beef/chicken. The service here ranges from nice, to some of the worst I’ve ever experienced. Let’s start with the good. (1) Their Cachapas are delicious, especially when you get them on the sweet plantains, which makes them«Yoyos». Order a Yoyo and see what you think. Yum. A little messy and a little over the top and sickly for some people though. (2) The plantain bread for the Yoyo by itself is heavenly, I recommend getting an order of it with absolutely nothing on it — heated up of course — to see how good it is. The sweet one, not the savoury plantains. (3) They’re open 24 hours, pretty much, with the odd closing in the middle of the night for cleaning. That is awesome and seals the 5 star rating. The bad stuff? Well they’re so mean sometimes. The girl that told me they were closed for cleaning pretty much yelled at me. Then the next time I came in, a different girl was really nice, and sold me the Yoyo sweet plantains with nothing on them for just a few dollars. So far, so good. Then the next time I came in, they charged me almost twice as much for the Yoyo plantains by themselves, saying I had to «buy the sandwich even if I didn’t want anything but the bread.» I was really annoyed by this. But it got worse. The final time I came in — and I drove quite far out of my way for this — they said«sorry, we can’t sell the Yoyo bread without putting stuff on it.» I was like… what are you talking about. Just give me a sandwich with nothing on it, then. I’ll pay full price. I just want the bread. Nope. They wouldn’t do it. Why not? «Because we want to save the bread for people that are buying the sandwiches.» What are you talking about? Give me a sandwich, and just put everything on the side then. «No, we don’t serve it like that. If you want a YoYo, it has to have stuff on it.» I couldn’t believe this mindless, nonsensical position. It was like the Theater Of The Absurd. It was an affront to common sense. And yet, because the damn YoYos are so delicious(if a little sickly, and a little over the top), I’m still giving them 5 stars. Oh and we’re gonna walk ahead, to get some Venezuelan food. You can«Cachaptous.»

I’ve tried their pollo cachapas with the queso frito or mozzarella(recommend the queso frito) and it’s a decent size and tasty for 8 $ or so. They are usually great with delivery but lately their delivery is on the struggle bus and the staff over the phone is not helpful and has an attitude. Until they get this together I can’t order from here.

Buy a yoyo. Eat it up. Every day you’ll have good luck. Ok, I don’t know about good luck but you’ll definitely have a happy stomach. Two sweet plantain patties surrounding meat, cheese, lettuce, and tomato: What’s not to love? The pernil tacucho(roast pork burrito) is also one of my favorites. I must admit that their quality and customer service(for delivery orders) is inconsistent. Some nights you’ll get a tasty meal in a timely manner, and other nights you’ll wait two hours for a slapdash pile of nonsense. It’s a bit of a crapshoot but most of the time it’s good.

If you’ve never had a capacha and are in the area, go here! Formerly the location of Cachapas y Mas(which I went to about year ago). This place still has tasty sandwiches, though a bit greasier. It’s still a hole in the wall, but the décor is newer and cleaner than the former location. There are two side by side TVs on the wall(«seems redundant» my friend quipped). I got a yoyo which is a sandwich held together by two patties made of sweet plantains. I got the beef in it, which was shredded and delicious. Super tasty(because how could plantains and beef not be??) but not the absolute best yoyo I’ve ever had.

Came here a couple of times to grab a quick meal. Atmosphere: Small, slightly dumpy. More of a pickup than eat in joint. Food: Meh. First time, I ordered the cheese cachapa and tres leches cake. It was already sweet due to the corn, but add ketchup and mayo, and it’s basically a savory dessert. It seemed pointless to have the cake afterwards, but I did anyway. It wasn’t bad. Second time, I had the pernil patacon, and flan for dessert. The pernil was really dry and flavorless, and it was difficult getting it down without drinking something. I wasn’t impressed at all. However, the sandwich was filling, so I didn’t go to bed hungry. The flan was more cheeselike than custard in texture, and the bottom was burnt. I ended up trashing much of it. Upside is that they do have online ordering, so you can pick up your food without waiting around in the restaurant for it. From other reviews, I gather that Tu Cachapa is new… so I’ll try them again to see if the quality of the food improves.

I just ordered delivery from here for the first time and it was awful. Ham and cheese cachapa — ruined by ketchup, mayo, lettuce, tomatoes. Pernil patacone — tasted like tuna salad with bland plantain(a little salt would be nice guys). And of course the tres leches was spilled in the bag but at least that was good. Pineapple juice was good too but it could very well have been pineapple kool-aid(which I have no issue with). Soooo, all in all I’ll never order from here again. We just threw out most of the food. Such a shame.

The pernil patacon is pretty damn delicious. It’s very large and filling with minimum damage to your wallet. Load that puppy up with extra white sauce! Please note: this isn’t a place that you would sit down… more of a place that you would pick up from. It probably gets quite a bit of drunkards late at night…

I love this place for delivery orders! Delicious food and very friendly service on the phone! You have to try the Reina Pepiada Arepa with everything and the Beef Cachapa. The empanadas are great as well. Keep it up guys!

I guess this is the former site of Cachapas Y Mas… although the banner still says go to the Cachapas Y Mas website as of August 6th. The food is still amazing though. We got the beef patacones(plaintain sandwich), two empanandas(beef/chicken) and the wonderfully sweet corncake shredded pork cachapas. The food was really excellent and the sauces that come with(a mayo-y white sauce and medium spicy red sauce) are both great to put on. The ambience is ok. This place is open late, so a great spot to get something to go.

Arepas are probably the most famous dish from Venezuelan cuisine. I don’t know why, cause cachapas are so much better! This is one of my favorite restaurants in the neighborhood. I recommend the pernil cachapa and the pineapple juice. The hamburger is also delicious, although it’s a bit salty. I’ve only ever gotten delivery, so I can’t comment on the ambiance.
