Four girlfriends from four states on an annual retreat, needing a quick bite to eat. We decided to stop for some drinks and small plates. We ordered calamari, two salads, fried pickles. All tasty and made fresh! Loved our server Niamh(pronounced Neeve) with her Irish lilt, efficiency and helpful advice about catching the staten island ferry. Happy hour prices reasonable($ 4 beers, $ 6 wines).

I used to go to the original Triona’s near West Village, but my friend loves the place and convinced us to go to the new 3rd ave location. For one thing, it’s a lot bigger. Yes, it’s on 3rd avenue, but it’s not nearly as douchey as it could be. Still a little douchey(it’s a sports bar after all), but I had a good time. Tons of TVs, great bartenders, good beers.

I love this place. Spacious and amazing happy hour Monday-Friday from 12 – 8(yes, 8 hours)!. And still more deals on the weekends. Staff is friendly and they have many beers on tap.

I love this bar from after work drinks! It’s clean, has plenty of bathrooms, and the truffle fries are amazing. Thought I’ve never had a full meal here, their bar food is great and I love the atmosphere.

Really great service, though it was kind of dead on a Tuesday night, even during NCAA basketball tournament. They had some decent draft specials, so had a good time for not a ton of money. Recommend if just trying to chill with friends.

A sports bar that doesn’t play the sound on any games? You found it here. The NBA all star game was on but they refused to put the sound on because a group said«it clashed with their hockey game.» They don’t even play the hockey game sound, instead choosing to play top 100 pop music at an aggravating level. I’m talking Katy Perry singing in your ear. Food was decent though significantly overpriced. I got the Mac and cheese which was served in a healthy portion. It was okay but the bacon in it was a little undercooked. Service was fine but I’m pretty low maintenance when I’m watching sports. Lots of TVs with easy viewing from anywhere. Spacious and not crowded. The biggest issue we ran into was cashing out. The bartender decided to put everything on one check without asking. Then when we asked to split it, it took 15 minutes for her to refund our cards and rerun them. They finally bring the new checks out and they are flipped. My friend’s tab charged to my card and mine to his. We tell them and they insist it’s correct. Finally they decide to fix it and it takes another 15 minutes. By the time it’s all said and done we are there 40 mins past the time we wanted to cash out. Ridiculous. Would not go here again.

Very good sports bar. Lots of TVs and a good crowd. Have some wings or fries, a beer and watch a game. No fancy food but a good sports bar.

Went here earlier today, walked in not expecting much, walked out impressed. $ 4 beers until 8, Bell’s 2 hearted on tap included, really good food. You can can do much, much worse in the area. Good job, Triona’s!

Good sports bar with a ton of TVs, but unfortunately I botched my order and got two horrible items. 1) My fries were soggy when the waiter brought them over. 2) My Mac and Cheese was soupy(see my picture for proof). Also, I wanted to bang my head against the wall the entire time because of all the embarrassing electro house mashups. You would think we were in Murray Hill or something… Change the tunes ASAP!

I used to meet friends in this area all the time but more towards Union Square. Some of our spots fell off or are no longer around. Can’t beat $ 4 beer of any draft at Happy Hour. Been here maybe 8 times now and very impressed. Food was awesome, staff was friendly and the apparent owner that bought us a few rounds last time had a great sense of humor. Will be headed back very soon.

My friend invited me to watch the end of a hockey game(Chicago vs I don’t know). It was absolutely packed, which wasn’t as fun for us just arriving but I imagine it would’ve been a good time if we had got there in the beginning.

Always good to find a bar that puts out quality bar food. Triona’s is a cool sport bar in the flatiron/Gramercy area. There are lots of tv’s scattered around and plenty of seating for either small groups or just a few people. I thought the waitress(I forget her name) was awesome. She gave strong recommendations for certain dishes pending what we each liked and steered us away from things that she felt wouldn’t satisfy us at that time of day. With that being said, we shared an order of wings and I got an order of fish and chips. The fish and chips were unexpectedly delicious. With the exception of a few places in London, this was definitely up there with some of the best versions of this dish I’ve had. Fish was battered and fried almost perfectly and the fish was juicy and seasoned well. Fries were also better than most bar fries. The wings however, were meh… Not bad, but not too great either. I could have done without them. Those fish and chips though? Excellent. I can definitely see myself coming here and trying a few more things on the menu… Especially when there are major sporting events… This is definitely an ideal place to come enjoy some beers and eat some good bar food.

I’ve been here a few times in the last year, and recently went to the original Triona’s on Sullivan Street. Both locations hit the sweet spot of being clean without being stuffy, homey without being dirty or dive-y, and having sports without being rowdy. The drinks are cheap, the bartenders are cool, and the food is great. It’s quickly becoming an after work hangout spot.

It is what it is, a sports bar, but a great one. I usually hate tv screens in a bar but here they somehow didn’t bother me. Perhaps their placement, perhaps their number… Food was great, drinks solid, service unobtrusive and attentive. Will definitely go back.

Nice local place to watch sports games, gets crowded but not unbearable like some of the other joints. Attentive bartenders. Haven’t tried the food yet.

Quickly becoming one of my go-to bars. I didn’t even know this place existed until I was walking home from the Kips Bay AMC and saw a huge crowd inside, watching hockey. I find myself coming here to watch games more often, simply because the space is huge and there’s always something to do(darts, billiards, etc.) The crowd is a pretty perfect combination of diverse clientele, which melds the frattiness of Murray Hill, with the hipster-ness of East Village/Alphabet City. Pretty much my perfect crowd. The crowd itself also is usually pretty comfortable every time I’ve been here, and you’ll never find yourself aching for space. They have a ton of TV screens and abundant drink specials from day to day. Bartenders are super friendly and are very quick to get you your drink. The food here is your standard bar fare, but definitely executed very well. I definitely recommend the buffalo wings, mozzarella sticks and nachos. Beer selection is pretty diverse, and I’m a fan of the $ 4 Yuenglings. Can’t go wrong with that. Come here to watch games, or for a good happy hour/pregame.

Decided to check this place out despite being proclaimed«Bears Country» and I’m a GIANTS fan but it’s a typical bar, TV, darts, and a very nice Irish lady who took care of the bar. She was friendly and nice to talk to. $ 4. Happy hour beers and went with the wings which were spot on. Good flavor and good sized wings made a great companion with my beer during happy hour. Good enough to make the trip back and I’ll wear my Eli Manning jersey this time…

After a great time at Triona’s in Greenwich about two months ago, we randomly stumbled upon this new location on Third Ave and had a blast here as well! Walking in, you’ll see a few high-top tables up by the front window, and plenty of seating along the bar counter. Colored LED strips illuminate the back bar in a soothing orange, with a light blue glow emanating from beneath the bar counter. The side wall opposite the back bar is plastered with vintage-style wood and tin signs, with two chalkboards detailing the happy hour specials and available beers. Plenty of flatscreen TVs jut out from the ceilings and walls, giving everyone a good view when there’s a game on. There’s some stacked stone on the back wall, with soft directed lighting bringing out its shadows… overall the whole bar looks very cool and polished. After sitting down at the bar, we were greeted by none other than Triona’s brother Michael, who served us a few rounds of $ 4 Shock Tops and $ 5 specialty shots(both of which were discounted on Thursday nights). Michael was great to talk to, striking up conversations with us in-between serving and laughing with the other patrons at the bar. He even let one of our friends back behind the bar to thumb through his Spotify playlist and throw some new songs in the mix! Gut-renovated and open for less than one month, this place doesn’t quite have that«lived in» feel of its Greenwich counterpart, but the solid drink specials/prices, friendly staff, assortment of flatscreens, and rockin’ music playlist make visits to this place worth putting on repeat!
