Ainsworth Park is a terrible place … Not just because of most of the people who work there, or the venue itself … But because of the Machivellian creatures who own the business, and of course a few employees who get down on their knees and tow the management line. The Paige Hospitality group has grown, in terms of not only owning the Ainsworth locations, but also places such as Sidebar and Village Pourhouse … And they all reek the same exploitation … Today a woman at the front desk, Carissa, kept hassling us, as we had to walk through the private party to the restroom. And on other occasions, they added to my credit card tab. I’ve decided never to go to any of these places again, and thankfully, NYC has a lot of great locations

Only in New York would this constitute green space. NOT a park by any stretch of the imagination. Burger was fine.

The French fries and shrimp tacos are delish. That along with the grilled jalapeño peppers with lemon and salt are yummy! The reason my score is a three is because the service is poor and inconsistent. I was very disappointed to have to ask repeatedly for silverware and napkins. And you know that thing that waiters do… oh what is it… uhm provide customer service and pay attention to their tables. Yeah, that doesn’t happen much here.

Good to watch a game and hang out with friends. Service is decent. Not a huge fan of the food.

I bought a ticket for the Halloween event this year and they said to have it printed out or on your phone.standard. When I got to the front the girl at the door had a printed out guest list with people’s names on it. My name somehow was not on the list, and even after showing them the email, printed ticket, and the ticket on my phone, I had to step aside and wait to get in. I purchased these tickets 2 weeks before Halloween so there shouldn’t have been an issue. The woman said«there are so many easy way to counterfeit printed tickets». If you’re going to have a bar code on the ticket, then maybe you should scan the tickets rather than having an unofficial printed list to go off of if you’re trying to prevent fake tickets. They also made our group wait outside even though there was no line and it was empty inside. Meanwhile, the open bar was only an hour so they prevented us from getting the full hour. I think they were trying to make it look like there was a line to get in; and since we were a big group we made it look long. Disappointed with this entire experience.

I was pleasantly surprised by the portions, I ordered shrimp tacos(3) seasoned beautifully, the sauce was light and the cole slaw was a delightful surprise

This was one of the worst overall dining experiences I’ve had in New York. To start, we were told there was a 45 minute wait for three, despite a ton of empty tables. It was nice that we got seated only 30 minutes later, but we were told we had to be done in an hour and a half, which was ridiculous because there was a game on and no other restaurant would ever say that. So anyway, they have us sit at this mini bar table — two people next to each other on a couch-thing and then me on an ottoman — apparently real tables and chairs are out of style? We ordered an appetizer and burgers, and it took a while to get any food, and then of course the appetizer and entrees came out at the same time. We were prepared to just make the most of it, but then we realized: we still hadn’t been brought napkins or silverware. It took us more than ten minutes to track down someone who worked there, but it turns out whoever we got couldn’t understand what we were asking for(which I would say is generally a problem if the staff at a restaurant can’t understand that kind of basic request). He just walked away, and I eventually had to get up and track someone down to bring them to us. Once we were finally able to eat the food, the Panko Chicken appetizer was actually pretty good, but the hangar steak burger was gross textured and flavorless, and my friends both said the roast beef sandwich was mediocre at best. All agreed the fries were the best part of the meal. So once we’ve eaten, we again couldn’t track anyone to get our check. After again about ten minutes, we tracked down someone who yet again couldn’t understand what we were asking for. He brought over someone who understood, but told us she couldn’t get our check, and brought us over a third staff. This third waitress brought us a check, but literally asked us «is this your bill?(It was not. It was for $ 600+). So five minutes later we finally get our check and leave — after being harassed for tips by a highly unnecessary bathroom attendant. Bonus Round: We all got food poisoning. Yup.

Awesome burger!!! Mac and cheese burger great too, wouldn’t get it again but worth the initial try! Waitress was nice and the booth table for four near the open windows was great.

Came for a private event and wound up staying for dinner. Space is great and draws a good crowd. Will definitely be going back for after work drinks and keep in mind for private events. Not to be forgotten is the Mac and cheese burger — honestly amazing.

THIS. PLACE. IS. A. JOKE. Went to Ainsworth Park for a friends birthday over the weekend. Safe to say, we all should have spent our money elsewhere. There was a $ 4,000 minimum to be spent so we could have the entire upstairs for my friends birthday. Ok, cool amongst all 40 of us whatever. That’s not what pissed us off. The prices for a platter, and I say platter ever-so-lightly because I could get 100x more food in a value meal at McDonald’s. $ 125 for Mac & Cheese Balls(maybe 24 of them) *delicious* $ 125 for steak skewers(maybe 20 of them) *wouldn’t know they were gone by the time I got up to that point in the line* $ 100 for Mini Grilled Cheeses(maybe 20 of them) *DRY* $ 100 for Spinach & Avocado dip(maybe 5 heaping spoonfuls) *WAY more chips than dip* They say«you get what you pay for» but at this place you get straight up ripped off. My one star will go towards the bartender and the top shelf open bar for 3 hours. The bartender we had was great, fast, and remembered our orders we never had to ask. Also at one point it was so hot up there we had to go downstairs and ask them to lower the temp. Someone did come up shortly after and it cooled off rather quickly. Did we have a good time, yes. Will we be returning, HELLNO!

Had a nice time at this Beads, bash Jewish singles event on Friday night. I had a glass of white wine which was not very good and overpriced but the cucumber spritzer was excellent! Two thumbs up! I’ve never tried the food but heard it’s so so. I give this place 4⁄5 stars because the atmosphere was dirty, not romantic at all and way over crowded.

A nice ambiance. Came here for a networking event. I kind of wonder if there are many hot guys hanging out here since this is a classy looking spot & didn’t strike me as shady or creepy. The staff was friendly & no issues with our event. Also sampled some of the food & it was pretty good. I think I’d come back.

Came here for a spontaneous brunch with friends who live on the east side. There is no better place where east meets west in the city than Union Square. The only place that was available on a 24 hours notice was the Ainsworth park. We sat on the porch and enjoyed the nice weather outside(first sunny and warm day of the 2015!). Our waiter was very nice and attentive however the food was just ok. We ordered the quinoa salad, the caramelized pancakes and the egg whites omelet. The salad was ok very earthy and large portion. Fresh cauliflower Flowers not exactly my cup of tea but if you down to vegan fresh healthy salad than you might like this puppy. The omelet wasn’t good. It wasn’t cooked well and was running this weird egg juice all over the plate. The light of the meal was the pancakes. AMAZING! Any other word would make it sounds less than it was. Overall a nice place for a spontaneous brunch but would prefer to go to another place if we could have

Aww ainsworth you disappoint me yet again!!! I decided to give this place another shot after having a horrible experience in Chelsea. A manager reached out to me which was very appreciative so I thought i should give this spot another chance. However, I am greatly disappointed. Firstly, our server was very nice, but the rest of the staff was rude. Same as the Chelsea location. Rude staff. It’s sad because our serve was happy and attentive yet the staff around seemed completely miserable. My friend who is never bothered even mentioned how rude some people were. We asked for water refill and were completely snubbed. When we asked for the check the girl who brought it to us(not our server) was extremely irritated. Now let’s get to the food. We ordered the quinoa salad and for a whopping 16.00 it was tasteless. Our next order was the egg white omelet. We asked for the spinach and feta to be whipped in to the eggs and all the ingredients came folded inside the omelette. Web as to return it and then when the new plate came out the egg omelet was literally runny on our plate with oil and water. It was disgusting. Worst omelette I have ever seen. We took one bite and stopped. The potatoes was raw and not thoroughly cooked. We ordered the caramelized banana pancakes for the table. Upon our arrival there was one piece of banana on the pancakes and drenched in caramel sauce. nasty! The worst part of all was the coffee that came cold! Our table had to return it.

Simply put, last night was a disaster. The hostesses never took down our reservation and were told we couldn’t get a table. Once I showed my phone’s «Recent Calls»(and one was made to their restaurant hours ago), they realized their mistake and sat us. Quick backstory: My wife and I came here last summer before a concert at Irving Plaza, and really enjoyed the food. Namely– the nachos, wings and truffle French fries. To be fair, the wings and truffle fries were some of the better versions we’d ever had.(No BS!) Because of a great last experience, we’d been talking up Ainsworth to the couple we went to dinner with last night. Guess what? All 3 dishes were discontinued and removed from the menu. The waitress apologized and suggested we should fill out a comment card or leave a review. Apparently, many(many!) people have been asking for the same dishes– and the waitstaff has no explanation for the move. As a result, we made the decision to finish our drinks and have dinner at The Smith(very good, by the way.) Before we left Ainsworth, the girls had already ordered spinach-artichoke dip for a quick snack. I mean how bad can spinach-artichoke dip really be? Freezing cold would be the answer!(And stale chips, but who’s keeping track at this point??). Very clearly it was microwaved and slapped into a cold cast iron skillet for presentation. In summary, I’m not sure why the menu changed– nor how the quality of the food went downhill so fast– but needless to say, I won’t be going back. Save your money and go to McSwiggans, Molly’s or Taproom before a show at Irving!

We went to Ainsworth Park for a basketball watch party — the crew had rented out the upstairs area, and you could reserve tables in advance. I was pleasantly surprised by how efficient the service was and how comfortable the entire experience was. The tables upstairs are kind of «clubby»(mostly couches, not quite the sit-down feel), while downstairs they have more of a restaurant scene. The lighting is dim, and they have TVs on every wall upstairs, so it made for a really fun experience. The bartenders and waitresses were really friendly, and we just ordered a bunch of pitchers. I definitely recommend organizing drink specials for a private party, since we got pitchers for $ 14 and well drinks for $ 8. The only thing is that in the upstairs section they have a super small bathroom that kind of reminded me of one in an airplane… not good for claustrophobia. Overall though I highly recommend the Ainsworth and would definitely go back.

I came here on a recent Saturday night for dinner ONLYBECAUSE a friend who is an extremely picky eater insisted on coming here. She turned down every other suggestion I had for«real food.» I felt the need to review this place when I realized that those who actually agree to eat here and know what good food tastes like really need a warning. Warning: insist on going somewhere else unless you’re simply going for drinks. Don’t ask me why, but I opted for a salad over a burger. I feel like bars typically do burgers well, so I will take responsibility for my poor ordering choice. Anyway, the salad I ordered isn’t on any of their online menus. It appears as though menus on various pages including their own are inconsistent. BUT let me tell you… the salad was AWFUL. It had grilled chicken that tasted like that premade chewy packaged garbage. I ate one piece and that was plenty. The serving size was large, but it was also flavorless. The dressing I believe was a Thai flavored one(perhaps the same as on the kale salad) and it was not up to par. Bottom line is it doesn’t matter what was in that thing, it was barely edible. I’d remember everything it had if it were any good, but it may have been borderline traumatic, especially considering the $ 16 I paid for it. My brain did what it’s supposed to and blocked out the details. AND my friend’s salad wasn’t good either. It was basic and could have been put together by my little cousin. The service was pitiful as well. So why 2 stars instead of 1? I should have ordered traditional bar food! My gut tells me it has to be better than the salads. The atmosphere was nice(if you’re into a Murray Hill type scene.)

The first thing you notice about this place is the amazing ambiance. It’s a sports bar of sorts but mixed in with what I may call a Ron Swanson touch. The décor is very classy and I imagine that the only real drink you could have in style while being here would be a scotch or whiskey. But of course they serve beer and everything else. I came for a Duke basketball watch event(alright, all you haters can stop reading). They had the entire second floor section reserved for us to watch the game against Louisville(which we won, so too bad). It was kind of dark up there so it was hard to read the menus, but I loved the couch lay out. It was a nice atmosphere for a group of friends to hang out, drink, and watch a good game. I ordered the Mac & Cheese Burger because… why the heck would you not order something that combined two American culinary greats? And I was not disappointed. It was probably the best burger that I have eaten to my knowledge(or recollection). The burger was cooked perfectly but more than that was the heavenly concoction of baked cheese and pasta that oozed out like sweet nectar from a ripe fruit. Oh god. I’m salivating again just from thinking about it. The panko crust at the bottom added an interesting crunch that gave the burger a very odd balance. The soft meat and crunch fried bread was an unbelievable harmony. I can’t wait to go back and try it again. We also ordered the nachos, which were delicious but not so much mind-blowing as the hamburger. But that’s okay. I don’t expect them to be godly at everything. Anyway, I have no idea what everyone else is talking about with the bad food and all, but I was completely awed by the food, service, and atmosphere. 5 out of 5 stars from me, and I shall return.

Been here on numerous occasions, fundraiser, happy hours, going away and an event. Always have a good time, they have two bars one in the front as well as one in the back, so you don’t have to wait or walk far to a bar! Nice location and have an upstairs as well, small but nice to have a private event. Great apps especially the wings!
