Great place to bring large groups for dinner. The food is always delicious and the service is great! I have been coming here for years and I love it! Remember to wear loose clothes, because the portions are huge! Lol! Enjoy!

Compare with their time square one, their place is quiet. However, food here tastes not as good as that one. So only 4 star.

This location is so much cooler than crowded Midtown. The food is awesome & staff so friendly & accommodating. Can’t say enough about what a great lunch we had after a stressful morning. Would absolutely recommend & the portions(even ½ portions) are filling & satisfying. Love this place, could you tell? Lol. ;)

We had our rehearsal dinner at the 3rd ave and 64th street location and everything was SUPER delicious, as per usual. The staff was very attentive and accommodating. The food was delicious. The semi private space in the back was lovely. The food was delicious. The price per person was actually one of the cheapest ones we could find in the area, so that was perfect.

I’m split about this location. On one hand, I’ve gotten delivery from here and been very pleased with the quality of the food. On the other hand, I went to the location in person twice and was disappointed in both the service and the food. We got seated in a weird corner of the restaurant close to the bar, and were largely neglected by the waiter. We had to flag him down for just about everything. He only got our order partially correct, but we ate the food anyway thinking sending back the food would take even longer and we were hungry. It took a long time to get our check and get our credit card back. Based on that experience, I’m not sure I’m going to be visiting the restaurant in person again any time soon, but I’ll still probably get delivery as the food is good when they get the order correct!

I had my doubts when my aunt suggested my mom and I meet her at this old school Italian place close to her office for lunch. It seemed like it’d be a heavy meat and potatoes type of place. Looks can be deceiving as the menu was vast and the sauces super flavorful! We started with stuffed mushrooms and shrimp appetizers. The stuffed mushrooms were warm and comforting on a cold, rainy day. They had a delicious broth poured over them, and were filled to the brim with stuffing and topped with cheese. My aunt and mom really enjoyed their shrimp as well. The appetizers themselves were quite large, so for the mains, my aunt got an arugula salad with grilled chicken added, I got two orders of half portions of vegetable sides — escarole & beans and peppers & zucchini and my mom got a side order of broccoli rabe. Salad: My aunt’s salad literally ended up being a bed of arugula with blandish-looking chicken on top. There’s an arugula salad on the menu, which is what my aunt thought she’d ordered(and had had there before), but the waiter kept coming over to ask questions before her salad was brought out(questions like, «You just wanted arugula with chicken, right?»). While his questions seemed a bit funky, we didn’t think anything of it until the salad was brought out looking bland! He was very nice about it and kept asking what she thought it was missing. She didn’t remember what exactly was in the salad last time she had it, but he brought out a tomato dressing from their other salad to try to help. While it still didn’t seem quite right to her, he definitely tried to fix it! Escarole & beans: Delicious. I thought the escarole would be a boring part of the side, but the sauce over the beans & escarole made it a warm and rich dish without being heavy. The half portion was larger than almost any other side I’ve ever seen and certainly a whole plateful. Peppers & zucchini: Sautéed perfectly and a nice rainbow color of peppers included. The zucchini was thinly sliced, which I tend to prefer. Broccoli rabe: Tenderly cooked and well-spiced. Overall, we left surprisingly stuffed. Service was pretty quick and it wasn’t too packed on a random, rainy Friday afternoon.

I have to give Tony another star. We have been ordering from them regularly over the past few years and they are consistently good. Some of our favorites are: — Rigatoni with eggplant and fresh mozzarella — delicious with a yummy sweet sauce — Hot Antipasto — delicious with eggplant rollatini, baked claims, shrimp and stuffed mushrooms — terrific! — Chicken Parmesan — delicious — Caesar Salad — very good The cold antipasto and veal parmesan is also very good. Delivery is very fast and the food comes hot. Definitely one of our favorite places to order in from!

We attended a family event here on Saturday for lunch. It was great that we were able to get our own small room for privacy. We started off with fresh bread and toasted seasoned bread. Next, fried zucchini chips were served. They were good, but I found them slightly heavy from being fried. The stuffed mushrooms were vegetarian, and still very good. Next came out our family styled entrees. The chicken piccata and eggplant parmesan were excellent. Great flavors and sauces. For pastas, we had penne with red sauce and mozzarella on top, as well as a gluten-free spaghetti with vodka sauce. Ya gotta get the vodka sauce… couldn’t even tell that the pasta was gluten free! !! Our least favorite was the mushroom ravioli, which was topped with amazing sliced mushrooms. For some reason, it just wasn’t as flavorful as the other dishes. We indulged in birthday cake brought from a bakery, as well as their pastry plate. The dessert plate was centered with a huge piece of tiramisu, surrounded by cannolis and a lemon flavored cheesecake. All was great. Service was very good. I’d highly recommend this place for a private party. We had a great time and an awesome meal.

The service, the location, the food, the wine, everything is perfect. You can tell that these waiters know exactly how be personable, professional, funny, and enthusiastic. They make you feel like you can take your time but also are quick with food. The family style of this restaurant is what makes it great and different. My party of 9 ordered 4 appetizers, 5 entrees, and a dessert platter and damn did we under estimate the portions. We are an ambitious bunch, but still had loads o left overs. The specials are always great and fresh and there is a large wine selection. Definitely coming back here soon!

Most times, I order my food from this restaurant to be delivered to my home. I love the food. It’s amazingly delicious. However, I went to eat an early dinner there, and the service was horrendous. In fact, it was so bad, I got up and left without eating anything. First, the hostess was very brisk and abrupt. I asked to be seated in a particular seat. The hostess said, «No, that seat is reserved» and didn’t bother to offer me alternative seating close by. Second, the waitress was extremely slow in coming to my table. There were only a few people in the restaurant at that time, so I don’t know why she was dragging her feet. In the meantime, the porter brought warm bread and very cold butter to my table. I was waiting for my drink because I wanted to eat the bread and drink my drink while I waited for my dish. The bread got cold, so I asked the porter to bring me more warm bread. He said no he couldn’t. He then said he’d have to ask the waitress first. In the end, he refused to bring me the warm bread. When my dish came, it was the wrong dish! I got up and said I was leaving because I wasn’t happy with the service. The waitress cheerily yelled, «Okay. Thank you. Take care!» Ditz!

Typical Italian family style restaurant. The food was standard and uninspiring. This is what we got for 4 ppl(2 couples) Apps: mozzarella sticks– good but not warm enough Caesar salad large– good. We were able to get anchovies on the side and didn’t get charged extra Main dishes: Fish special which was a Bronzino– amazing! Large portion and cooked perfectly! Baked ziti with bolognese– half portion– there was zero meat in the bolognese, very disappointing Tortellini with Alfredo– half portion– very boring and standard, would not recommend

To be honest, not sure what all the fuss is about. To be clear, the service was excellent all around, from the maitre d’ to the waiter and cleaning staff. I ordered the tortellini tricolori Alfredo, a dish I’d had in the 43rd Street location a few years ago, and was sorely disappointed; the dish was very salty and not very good. Calamari appetizer was average as I felt some pieces tasted overcooked/old but on the bright side, it wasn’t overly breaded. One positive, food-wise, was the sangria as everyone at the table agreed that it was excellent. I do not think it was bad food by any means but certainly not good enough to warrant the price. Service was excellent and should be commended.

Went here last Sunday, January 31st after seeing Chicago with my family. Be sure to make reservations online otherwise you will never get a seat. Resturant is family style so if this is not your thing then don’t go. We ordered Calamari Fritti which was wonderful some of the best I have ever had very tender. Additionally, we ordered the Roquefort salad which was abundant but ordinary. when I go back I’ll sample a different salad selection. For an entrée we ordered Veal Marsala which was excellent some of the best spinach I have ever tasted. For dessert we ordered and split a tartuffo which was great as well.

After much hooplah, I was finally able to give Tony’s Di Napoli a shot. I must say I was a bit underwhelmed. The UES location is quite large and as a large party, we were seated in the large banquet room with a handful of other large parties. After being informed it was«family style,» we chose 1 dish per 2 people(the menu suggests 1 dish per 2 – 3 people). Definitely not enough food. I don’t know what kind of birds the menu is catering to, but I would say you need 2 dishes per 3 people. Overall, the food was good but not anything to write home about. In summary, great spot for a large group. Large groups can branch off into smaller groups and order to share amongst themselves(as we did, and which I recommend for a large party), order one entrée per person(a bit more expensive than family style prices), or order many dishes for the whole table to share(might be difficult with large party). Food is not mind-blowing but will make for a pleasant dinner! Also, the«after dinner mints» by the door on your way out are not mint– they’re cinnamon.

It’s a family style italian eatery… I think that says it all. But as far as establishments of this sort go I think this is one of the better ones. We’ve gone there with co workers for dinner, a single portion was big enough to feed 2 or 3 or 4 depending on what you ordered. The service is excellent and ability to order half portions helps to keep your girlish figure(not that I care or have one). Overall I think it’s reasonably priced well cooked and a nice place to get a meal with family, friends or coworkers.

I am addicted to the Vodka sauce and mushroom!!! I never liked pasta. I am also not a fan of Italian food. But the food at Tony’s just blew my mind! We five people shared spaghetti with vodka sauce and mushroom, seafood squid ink pasta, shrimp and artichoke, house salad and tiramisu. I totally fell in love with the pink sauce! Creamy but not too much like alfredo sauce. It was salty and has a touch of sweet. Adding mushroom in it was just brilliant! Squid ink pasta was also great. They were generous with seafood: clams, mussels, salmon and shrimp. I did not find the pasta tasted any different from the common type though. I heard it was supposed to be better :/ House salad was mediocre so try to avoid it. Also the bread was plain. I prefer the pizza bread at Carmine’s. Shrimp and artichoke was okay. I loved the jumbo shrimp but not the artichoke and capers in it. Tiramisu was super moist and fluffy. It can be shared by five. Again, I love the vodka sauce! 5 stars for it!

We had a large party of 13 on a Sunday Night with reservations for 730. The overall service was rushed and not attentive. The food tasted very bland nothing special. We ordered Penne Alla Volka, Linguine with Calms, Chicken Parm, Porkchops and Shrimp Scampy. The only note worthy dish is the Penne Alla Volka. The Linguine pasta tasted like box pasta with seafood water. For a group with big appetites, dishes serves 2 people. The desserts were average we had the chocolate cake and strawberry shortcake. We also had the Sangria, that was probably the highlight along with the Penne Alla Volka.

Tony’s is absolutely fantastic as long as you stick to the things they are best at, including possibly my favorite chicken parm of all time. I would say the meats in general(chicken, veal, meatballs, etc) are all great, as are the salads and desserts. The pastas are fine, but not great. And yes, it is a fairly touristy place(although less at this location than the one in Times Square, obviously), and I wouldn’t by any means call it «authentic» Italian, but that doesn’t make it any less great at the things they do well. Can’t say this enough — the chicken parm is absolutely outstanding. As a side note, this location is also a great place for big parties — the price is right(relative to other NYC options) and the food is perfect for those types of events, since it’s all family style.

Absolutely 5 stars! It’s a family style restaurant just like Carmine’s and the dishes are for share. The portions are very good and the full size portion feeds 4 people. We got rigatoni with eggplant and mozarella and a chicken dosh amd both were great! For dessert I recommend their huge Sundae to share. It was to die for. The ambiance is family friendly. We arrived at 8pm and the place was still packed when we left after 9pm. The waiters are very friendly and the service was great. Definitely coming back!

We were in town on vacation between Christmas and New Years, and knew nothing of the area aside from what we could find on Google or Unilocal,so Tony’s turned out to be a very pleasant surprise! While waiting 3 hours for a table at Serendipity 3(had to try the frrrozen hot chocolate!) we had to find somewhere for dinner. Even though it was bustling and seemed crowded, we were seated in 15 minutes, and well-attended to. The individual portions are easily large enough to feed two hungry people, not to mention the huge bread basket — I wager the family portions could feed quite a few. Both our orders were delicious, but beware that some things must be ordered a la carte. For example, chicken parmesan doesn’t come together, it must be pieced together from two separate menu items.

I have been to Tony’s Di Napoli twice and have had very good experiences both time. I have tried the fried calamari, chicken parm, linguine w. clams *white*, penne vodka and stuffed mushrooms. The ambiance at the UES location(downstairs) cozy and warm. The servers put candles on the tables around 5PM and dim the lights which is nice. The food has always been fresh, prompt and yummy! I find their marinara sauce to be a bit sweet, but nothing that took away from the overall deliciousness of the meal. Because portions are so big, a «half» portion is definitely enough for two people and also helps keep the bill down. I can’t speak for the Times Sq. location, but I will definitely be back to the UES!

I have come here many times and it has yet to disappoint. The portions are large the crowd is good(it’s a busy restaurant and yes at times loud but what can you do people want good food) and the drinks are delicious. The last time I visited Tonys I had the seafood combination with the Maine lobster, shrimp, clams, and mussels. Oh, and there was some calamari in there too. This is one of my favorite places to visit when I’m in New York because I know that I will always eat well and I know that the service will always be great. I know some people may disagree but in my opinion it is a great family style restaurant with hefty portions and again a wonderful ambience. I always leave very happy at the end of my meal.

I was here recently for my cousin’s birthday. I thought the atmosphere was a bit chaotic even by Manhattan standards. It is really loud inside and jam packed. The sangria was good in an agreeable for the table kind of way — not too sweet, not too weak or strong. The mussels appetizer was good but not great — fresh tasting and good sauce though the mussels were small and shriveled. Sirloin steak for two was $ 62 and the portion size was not bad. It was cooked well — medium rare =medium rare. The taste was a bit lacking though in my opinion. I prefer a bit more seasoning I guess. The pasta dishes we had included rigatoni with eggplant and a seafood linguini. The eggplant dish was delicious while the seafood one was good but a bit lacking in flavor. Portion size is supposedly family style though I felt they were smaller than I am used to at other family style Italian restaurants. Carmines in the theatre district may be full of tourists but as a native NYer I still think it is one of the best Italian restaurants in all of the 5 boros. I haven’t been there in awhile but my memory is that it had tastier food as well as bigger portions than Tony’s di Napoli. I was torn between giving Tony’s 3 and 4 stars so I rounded up. 3.5 is about right.

I stopped in here with a friend for lunch on Saturday after the wait at Serendipity 3 was over two hours(surprise surprise). We were seated right away, but then promptly forgotten about for about 20 – 30 minutes. We had to flag down two different waiters to ask for water. When we were finally attended to, our waiter pressed us to order more — an appetizer, a bottle of wine(even though we both were pretty adamant that we only wanted a glass each). With the 30 minutes they had been ignoring us, we were both pretty sure of what we wanted. Food is good. Portions are big. Service leaves something to be desired.

Fun for large groups as they have the space and serve family style. Our server was excellent, friendly(forgot his name, young man with an accent). Food was great. Highlights: — broccoli rabe, cooked perfectly — salmon, also prepared perfectly — penne vodka — stuffed mushrooms — eggplant parm — fried zucchini(was just ok to me, but the rest of the party raved about it) We had a few other dishes, but the above listed stood out. Would’ve loved to try more items, but our company was footing the bill and being a bit stingy. I would come again for a party.

Wasn’t as great as the theater district or original Tony dinapolis on the upper east side. I came here for Valentines day with my boyfriend and I felt as if everything was very staged. They had an accordion player walking around playing Italian love songs and people passing out flowers. Also, there were a lot of families there… with children… on Valentine’s day. Where was the babysitter? Food was good. I think the vibe is what makes me give it a low rating.

Had a nice meal at this classic Italian eatery. We ate in upper room, which was nice and bright, and outside seating was also available. For the most part, everything here was to be expected when you think of a family style Italian joint; waiters in white button downs, simple menu and large portions at a respectable price point. Our order of a roquefort salad, rigatoni with broccoli in garlic and olive oil and chicken piccatta was delicious. A simple order made very well. We left full and with leftovers with the bill around $ 55. For the quality and service, that’s a steal. Will be back!

I must say, Tony di Napolis blew me away. It all started with an early morning group text to my friends. Haven’t seen them in in awhile and wanted to get together and have some nice cuisine. This place was chosen due to the recommendation of fellow Elite Unilocaler, Michael K. He had been here before and raved about. Located mere minutes off the bridge, the restaurant from the outside looks like a small, family place. But as you enter, you see a much larger and long restaurant with 2 floors and a lot of space for dining. Checked our coats and were seated within 10mins. It was just 5 of us, but we ordered a lot of food, now that I think about it. Our waiter, Frank, was a cool guy and chilled out. Explained the specials, in detail, and gave us his honest opinions about our selections. The appetizers were as follows : mussels with marinara sauce and garlic Zucchini fritti Shrimp cocktail Baked Clams Caesar Salad Now, keep in mind, 3 out of 5 these portions were full, family style portions. Check out the pics. The food came out quickly, and we somersaulted, because that’s hungry we were. The entrees: Veal pram Chicken piccata Linguine w broccoli n oil Penne ala vodka w mushrooms More shrimp Prior to even ordering the entrees, my stubborn friends, Michael and«Sezhuan Leo» was there, so you know they were arguing over which pasta dish to order, lol. Made for good entertainment. Food was great and we even topped it off with a chocolate Decadence dessert, or how I called it «the destroyer» In the words of Leo, the whole meal was literally«CARBHEAVEN». Totally worth it but NEXTDAY: cardio all day!!!
