I’m done with this place. I work up the block and come in here all the time. The only thing good here is the service. Sometimes the food is good and sometimes not.

Always a good chicken parm when we visit NYC. Wish our town had an authentic American Italian place like this!

Food was good. Wine was fine. But dude, major attitude from the hostess and a serious deficiency of service. My friend and I were out having a casual catch-up dinner tonight when we passed by this establishment. It was almost 9 and the place was pretty full. We were like this is cool and walk in, and admire how nicely it’s decorated. Several wait staff and one of two hostesses passes by as we wait by that big ass Christmas tree on a table and nobody acknowledges us. I try to flag someone down and I’m told it’ll be a few minutes before we could be seated. That was fine. Then two more people show up and we all get seated right away. Before we do, since we were first in line, we were asked to pick the table, and I was like, oh no whatever you(the other party) wanted is fine, and the hostess did this thing clasping her hands together and made this bug-eyed pursed-lip thing that didn’t sit right with me. Once we got seated, I kept seeing the table next to us(the two people who came in after us) get attention with little greetings, jokes, and friendly«buon appetito.» Cute right? I wanted some of that cute Italian hospitality at my table. Didn’t happen. I’m also not a biatch. My friend and I looked like Asian students so maybe we seemed like people who didn’t want to be treated special? I don’t know what the fuck was up, but food was not even handled with any gentility, and shoved almost as quickly as possible in front of us and then the waiters would dash off without saying a thing. And again, this didn’t happen at the table next to us. Dishes were announced and slowly placed in front of each person. I’ve been a waiter, so I really appreciate courteous behavior. The crappy service at my table wasn’t warranted and it took away from the festive mood of my meal with my friend. Not returning but maybe they didn’t want to serve my kind in the first place. A sorry experience in NYC.

I wanted to like this old school Classic Italian restaurant but unfortunately, it was a huge disappointment. Our food took over an hour to come out and we asked the waiter no less than 5 times since we had a movie to catch. Each time we were told«two minutes». We had given ourselves an hour and a half to eat but ended up getting the main course just minutes before the movie started. I ordered grilled red snapper and from the first bite, it was a loser. The fished tasted 100% fishy and was overdone and tough. Nothing good to say about this restaurant, the service or the food. STAYAWAY!

Authentic Italian with HUGE portions. Staff is attentive and very friendly. I got the homemade cheese tortellini and it was just like the food I ate in Italy!

Absolutely the best place we’ve eaten at thus far! I had the chicken Parmesan and hubs had lasagna– both were delish! The only thing that would’ve made the meal better would’ve been some olive oil and seasoning for the bread. Great place to people watch too! Haha Seems like a lot of locals dine here. That’s always a good sign.

Very traditional, delicious Italian dining. The meals are excellent, and the hospitality is very old-fashioned and wonderful.

This place is awesome ! I would give it a 10 out of 10. The service is out of this world ! Our waiter was so nice and so was everyone else in the building. It’s a very friendly place. The crowd here was a little old though. Like the elderly. I ordered a garlic pasta dish and it was so good every last bit of it ! The portions are good too. I recommend this place if you want to try out Italian food or around the area! It’s a cute place the décor is old fashioned but in the good way. It has 2 floors but the downstairs is for the bathroom. It’s very cute I don’t know how else to describe the environment. Definitely recommend for families and couples.

So unassuming! I stumbled across this restaurant when walking around the neighborhood. We walked down stairs to a basement like room. We were seated in a nook, which was very quaint and quiet. The service was fine, and the food delicious. I had manicotti and my boyfriend has eggplant parmigiana. Both were great! I would recommend this restaurant for a group or a date. The top floor seemed more bustling than where were seated. I read online that an apéritif and small dessert was served with our check, but we did not receive that. Regardless we loved the entire experience!

We went for a pre-marathon Carbo load and couldn’t have picked a more perfect spot! The portions were large and delicious! If we went again we’d get 2 entrees to share family style instead of each getting our own, we were stuffed!

AMAZING! We had a bottle of fabulous champagne, baked clams as our appetizer, my bf had veal medallions with vegetables, and I had rotini with homemade sauce comprising of tomatoes, onion, fresh basil, and prosciutto. Everything was SO flavorful. They bring you limoncello and Italian cookies after dessert as a courtesy. The atmosphere was classic Italian for the classic Upper East Side clientele. All in all, for where we just purchased an apartment – this will be our go to Italian ristorante :)

We have passed this restaurant a few times — it’s right by Bloomingdales, and it has a cozy allure to it. One day we decided to walk in to give it a try on a whim — we ordered the eggplant Parmesan and the caprese salad to start with. The buffalo mozzarella was very good, but everything else was average. Overall, this restaurant was decent but not overwhelming. There are many other Italian restaurants I prefer in the area.

Always wanted to try this place for years!!! Came in this afternoon, wanted something good. The place looks a little outdated but it seems busy all the time. Order some appetizers to give it a try, staring with the Cipriano salad, Portabello with olive oil and garlic and the Baked Clams, really nothing special. The Portabello was perfectly cooked but bland. The oyster looked poor and they were so insignificant that left me wanting something else. Now coming down to the service, The waiter was attentive, courteous, and he make sure we were care for. Not sure if am coming back is a I will SEE. Lolz. Not my favorite. Sad is so close to my job, would have been there more often for sure.

I enjoyed Isle of Capri. The inside of the restaurant reminds me of a train-car and I liked how quiet and intimate it is inside the restaurant. My boyfriend and I met my boyfriend’s cousin here for dinner on a Monday evening. We had a reservation for 6:30pm, but we probably could have done without. We were seated right away and were asked three different times by three different people if we’d like water before it was actually brought out(we thought it was funny). Everyone in our party ordered a different pasta dish(I ordered Spaghetti) and we seemed to enjoy them since we all pretty much ate all of our food. They did bring out bread before the main course was brought out and the bread was hot and fresh. I also ordered a glass of Merlot, which hit the spot with the pasta dish. I think that the service here was helpful and nice for the most part. Prices were on par with the location — most dishes were about $ 15 – 20 each and wine was about $ 10 a glass. I’d come come here again next time I’m in the city and am craving Italian. Cheers!

The pasta is the star of the show. The classics like lasagna and spaghetti are a definite must. I had food envy all night because a fellow diner ordered the carbonara. It was absolutely scrumptious and I would lick up every bite of her plate if I could. I had ordered the green and white pasta with pancetta and peas. The peas were undercooked and just eh. The pasta and sauce was cooked perfectly. It was homemade pasta and it has that nice bite to it. The portions here are huge. I think family style would be the smarter way to order. The service was friendly but not overbearing. It’s a gem.

I arrived for a party of 2 on time for my reservation and clearly nobody saved a table for us. We requested a window seat and there was not one table available at all. We had our coats checked and stranded awkwardly in the front of the restaurant watching all the other patrons enjoy their meals for about 15 – 20 mins. The older woman, presumed to be the owner, was very helpful and said that they would do the best they could to seat us. There was also a man who said that since I called earlier today that they could not accommodate our request. «People have been waiting weeks for reservations.» He placed the blame on me which just told me that he had a bad temper and no hospitality skills whatsoever. We were seated in the main dining room and greeted with a free round of drinks and an appetizer. The waiter was very helpful and professional. The service and food made up for the slow start. Hopefully next time the service at the beginning of the night is better. The veal I had was incredible and light, the cocktails were solid. The final bill still ended up pretty high despite the free round and appetizer. A little pricy, but the food was great. Overall, I will most likely be back to this place when I’m feeling like having an expensive dinner.

I went to this place after one of my friends told me that they wanted to try it. I am usually not a fan of pasta(yeah… weird I know) but I decided to give it a shot and I was not disappointed. Décor/Atmosphere: This place has red walls and is not so big. However, I like the comforting atmosphere. It makes you feel like you are in a real Italian restaurant. Drinks: We had a few glasses of wine, which I cannot remember which ones they were. They were so good though! Food: The pasta we had was delicious. It tasted really fresh and not like«cheap Italian.» We also had bread in the beginning which was delicious. Who doesn’t love warm baked bread? We also received a complimentary dessert wine and a few pastries, all of which were yummy. I left feeling so full! Service: The service was amazing. Our waiter was friendly and really knowledgeable with the menu. He took us through their wine list and made several recommendations as well as which pasta we should get. I think the service here is probably one of the best I have experienced. Overall: I would definitely recommend this place especially for a date. The environment is very cozy and intimate. I would definitely come back.
