Tomomi Tanaka

I started seeing Tomomi a few years ago when I lived in NY. I couldn’t even bend over my sciatica was so bad, the pain was excruciating. I had seen chiropractors, massage therapists, taken way too much can ibuprofen… After 3 sessions with Tomomi my pain was completely gone. Like seriously, I woke up one day and I could actually tie my shoes without wanting to cry… It had been 3 months and I was 25 at the time. I’m a hairdresser, I work on cement floors and my shoes aren’t always so «practical».
Not only is she just a very sweet person, but I was convinced I was going to hurt forever. She never promised a miracle, she said it would take a few sessions and she was right. She also helped me with many anxiety, stress, stomach issues.

Oh Tomomi you are a godsend. I initially started seeing her this summer when my migraines started kicking up and nothing else was working not even the meds my doc prescribed me. And I really appreciate that she from my first session has always made acupuncture comfortable and approachable making sure to explain every step and why she does everything and what it is meant to do. And it works well it is part of why I keep going even though my meds have kicked in. And I always find every session to be totally tailored to me and totally completely relaxing (have even fallen asleep a few times oops hehhe).
But what sets Tomomi apart beyond her knowledge is her compassion for her clients. It makes my day that I get emails and texts from her checking on me if she has not heard from me to see how I am doing. The fact that she goes out of her way to do this when she clearly has other people to attend to makes her so special to me and I am so glad I found her.

I have to write about a recent experience. I’ve been seeing Tomomi since I moved to NY a year ago. She is my go-​to health practitioner. I can report that my health in the last year has been consistently great.
I recently went to her with neck and shoulder pain – typical computer over use. I’ve had chronic dull pain for over a month. Chiropractic has been helping a little, but hadn’t alleviated the pain entirely. Tomomi put a few needles in and had me stretch. The pain was gone! 3 days later, I’m still pain free. I have some new issues that I’ve noticed because the pain isn’t there anymore. I’m sure she’ll help me with these too.
She’s is the best doctor I’ve ever had.

Tomomi is absolutely amazing, she is the first person who I have seen for acupuncture, and she has taken the time to make me comfortable with the whole process of energy flow. She is an intellect who is more than willing to educate you on the process that she is performing, letting you know why and how, but still keeping it simple while helping you relax.
I feel much more alive and energetic since starting to see her for acupuncture sessions, as well as having discovered a few things I didn’t realize about myself in the process. If you’re looking for an acupuncturist, I highly recommend Tomomi.

Tomomi is AMAZING! I have had acupuncture before but not like this… she combined acupuncture, acupressure, cupping, mo xi. she is very knowledgeable, knows Japanese, Chinese, and Korean acupuncture. This allows her to customize the acupuncture to fit your needs. My boyfriend and I already scheduled our next appointments. I am so happy to have found her. She is a pleasure and very reasonable!
