Ordered delivery from this place for the first time. It took them over an hour to deliver the food, so we’re not off to a good start. We ordered the Tom Jeud wood sen soup, chicken pad see ew, and the chicken phad pak. The soup was really more like vegetables stuffed into a container with a splash of broth. 0⁄1. The chicken in both dishes was a little too rubbery for my liking. A little too much sauce in both cases. The vegetables were a little undercooked. These«little» things here and there add up to a lot of frustration for two hungry New Yorkers. The delivery guy seemed friendly, hence the 2nd star. Airing our apartment out as we speak. Thank goodness for Chloe’s.

Super duper legit. I love the noodles here. I have this about thirty hundred times a week, this place is like my hobby. I usually order to-go but have also dined in. I’m pretty basic, so I usually just go for Pad Thai. And spring rolls. Pad See Ew also v legit. Yum yum.

Me and my girlfriend dropped in after a long day, started off with the Papaya salad and the Tom Jeud Woon soup. Both were incredibly flavorful and the portions were quite large. She had the Mild Yellow Curry for her meal which was out of this world, and I had the Shrimp Pad Thai which was equally delicious. Service was swift and attentive. 10⁄10 will be coming back.

Lunch special – seriously. DOIT. The amount of food you will get is ridiculous. I ordered a Vegetable Pad Thai lunch special with Tom Yum soup and it came with like salad and another container of clear watery liquid(which I had to give away). I was seriously done after the Pad Thai because the portion of the noodles itself is as if you’ve ordered a regular entrée – all this for under $ 10! I ordered extra tofu in my order and the small pieces of the fried tofu were delicious – they tasted like they came straight from the fryer in the street food markets in Thailand and were still crispy, even after 15 minutes sealed in a container. The Pad Thai was a bit more on the sour side(I’m guessing too much tamarind), but it left me so bloated afterwards. I don’t know if they forgot the peanuts since crushed peanuts are essential in a Pad Thai dish, but that was the only thing that bothered me. I ordered my food on Seamless and also ordered a Ginger Green Tea along with my meal. A few blocks in after picking up my food, I realized they didn’t pack my drink. They refunded me promptly and were professional about it, even when I offered to go back and grab it.

Ehh… ok nothing memorable. The food here is unpredictable. Some items are good and some aren’t. It didn’t feel like authentic Thai food to me, it was lacking flavor. It’s cheap however compared to other thai restaurants in NYC.

I ordered the drunken noodles with chicken($ 11) for takeout. It was a good portion and it was impeccably seasoned and prepared. They made it pretty quickly, too. The only drawback is that they were super scant with the vegetables. But for the price/taste, I’ll still probably be back. Also might be worth noting that it was super quiet(only one table had diners) when I went in to pick up my food, around 7:30 on a Sunday.

My sister and I came here for lunch after spending the entire morning at the Passport Agency around the corner. The lunch special ends at 3:30 and we walked in at 3:15, barely making it on time. Upon entrance we noticed one other patron enjoying his meal and how the restaurant was empty. At one point during our dining experience, the workers were enjoying lunch alongside us. The décor is absolutely beautiful! The dark wood and the quilted art that is adorned throughout the restaurant makes for a good date spot with a significant other or even a first date. As for the food, it was mediocre and have definitely had better. The lunch special consists of spring toll + salad and an entrée for $ 8 bucks. Steal, yes. But you can get said lunch specials at most Thai restaurants. So there is no need to rush over there. Especially based on taste. The spring rolls were good and crispy but tasted of mostly black pepper. The Thai fried rice tasted nothing like Thai fried rice, but tasted like Chinese fried rice. I thought I was in a Chinese restaurant with each bite. The water was brisk. Enjoyed that.

If I didn’t have a Groupon voucher for this place, I wouldn’t have even known about its existence. That’s how forgettable it was, from the store front to the food. But ergo… Our waiter was really something else. He was wearing these huge Buddy Holly(probably nonprescription) glasses and he had this robotic personality going on where you had to gauge his reactions for a few seconds after you said something for it to sink in. It was almost like he was disgusted with your presence. The summer shrimp roll was basically three pieces of shrimp shoved into mounds of lettuce and wrapped. Geez. I thought I was eating a huge salad against my will. And the sauce they provided was just sad. Drunk Man’s Noodle was a disappointment. Insufferably greasy, and I don’t do well with that kind of food. I just ate it all at that point because I was starving and I don’t like to waste food. At least we had prime seating?

Quality NOT consistent! The first time I ate here the drunken noodles were delicious. The right amount of spice and flavor and a good proportion of vegetables, meat and noodles. I went back and ordered the same thing. This time it was flavorless and had more onions and peppers than anything else. So disappointing!

Drunken Noodles with Beef was excellent as an entrée. We weren’t particularly fond of the fried tofu as an appetizer. No flavor whatsoever. Just give it some type of spice. Particularly ginger and sautéed onions would have been good. They did replace it with the calamari, which was pretty good. Nevertheless, I’d go back and certainly recommend this place to people.

A small Thai kitchen bordering the West Village and Greenwich Village, Potjanee isn’t quite sophisticated enough for the West Village yet not quite trendy enough for the Greenwich Village. Succinctly, Potjanee is borderline. The food is unmemorable, tolerable and at best, just another Seamless option. Very affordable lunch specials may be their only strong selling point. $ 7.95 for a lunch entrée with salad/spring roll + soup sounds like a very enticing deal! I ordered the pad see ew at this so called this«Authentic Thai» establishment and was surprised to see that the dish took such an unexpected Western turn! Instead of Chinese broccoli, I got actual broccoli — foresty, green, sister-of-the-cauliflower broccoli. As unsettled as I was, I wasn’t going to demand that they replace my $ 8 meal on the basis of a vegetable misnomer. However, saying that you serve«Authentic Thai» food and then plating a dish of chicken and broccoli is one of the worse«NOT jokes» I’ve ever heard. Honestly, if I wanted chicken and broccoli, I would have just stopped by a Panda Express. The entrée itself, though generously portioned, was meh — a solid 2 out of 5. Both the noodles and the chicken were mildly overcooked — creating a weird unbalance in each bite(soft noodles, tough chicken). The atmosphere is great having casual meal. As I lunched with my friend, many ‘parties-of-one’ came in, ate, paid and left. The restaurant is very low-key and has a certain relaxedness to it. My friend and I sat here for quite a while with no qualms(the place appears to be consistently empty, so go figure!). If nothing else, Potjanee does offer value — but you really do get what you pay for. Next time, if there will be a next time, I will only consider lunch special take-outs.

This place is A W E S O M E. My friend and I live near by and found the groupon online so we decided to give it a try. I was a little worried because it was really empty on a Friday night compared to the other restaurants in the area. But we had the coolest waiter EVER. I fort his name, but I’ll remember his personality when I go back because I’ll be returning. In addition to good customer service, we got the veggie dumplings(which are different from traditional dumplings) and they were good! Worth a try. But the best part was the drunken noodles with chicken. Wish I had some now. I had enough leftover to take home. My food was delicious and the customer service was great. My friend said her dish was good too but I cannot remember what she had. Close to the subway &NYU! Also they deliver. Try this place!!!

Why this place has less then 4 stars just surprises me. While I would recommend lowering the menu items to 2 pages, the flavors were amazing. Pad-Si U is perfectly seasoned the light brown fry with vegetables that are cooked yet crunchy. The drunken noodles– lightly salted and soft in consistency for the more particular palette. Then the Thai Fried rice– eggy and filled with flavor! If you enjoy a little more salt then just add some soy sauce but why ruin the organic flavor. All three dishes we got with vegetarian duck!!! Yes!!! Vegetarian duck!!! Let me tell you that I am visiting my local H– Mart and getting a couple boxes! It was amazing!!! Ok it didn’t really taste like duck, BUT it definitely fooled me to thinking it was some type of meat. Finally, do NOT leave this place without trying the sweet Roti!!! Have yet to go to a thai restaurant that does this. Why? I have no idea. It is literally the most simple delicacy. Roti smothered with condensed milk! Yes… That’s it! But it tastes like a fluffy crêpe– they should add some fresh fruit and call it an Oscar on a plate!!! #Potjanee

Bought a Groupon deal for here, I think it was $ 15 for $ 30. It was worth it! We were able to stretch that and pay a little bit more for two appetizers and two entrees! We also saw the discount for Unilocal, unfortunately you cannot apply both. If you frequent this, I definitely recommend buying the Groupon deal! The atmosphere was quite cozy and the servers were busy but attentive and efficient. I was a quarter down the block before I realized that I can left behind one glove, when I went back to get it, it was on neatly on top of a table that had been cleared and wiped down. Very impressive.

I came here with a friend on a groupon she had purchased. We had spring rolls as a starter and pad thai as entrees. The food was below par. The service was okay and the food came out quickly but the taste wasn’t as great as other thai restaurants. Thankfully, the bill was only $ 6 after the groupon. It’s also impossible to get here. The closest bus or subway station is about 10 blocks away. I won’t be returning.

I found my new favorite Thai restaurant! Came here with a groupon $ 30 worth of food for $ 15. My boyfriend and I ordered summer rolls that came with peanut sauce. It was so good! Something about this sauce made the summer rolls more delicious. I ordered drunken noodles since majority of the reviews here rave about it. Let me tell you, I can see why people cannot stop Unilocaling about the drunken noodles. It was soo good! My boyfriend got sweet and sour chicken which came with rice. That was really good too. We were there on a Wednesday night and it was not crowded at all. Our waiter was attentive and nice. The place was clean. It had a romantic atmosphere to it. Definitely a good place for date night. I am hesitant to give this place a 5. Cause I’m not sure if we were just super hungry which is why we found everything to be delicious, but my bf and I plan to go back soon. Update review to follow.

Decent and inexpensive Americanized Thai restaurant in the West Village. The place does not have any authentic Thai décor, its long and narrow design makes the place conducive and homey. Guests can also help themselves to any table. The waiter is friendly and attentive with genuine Thai hospitality. The Tom Yum and the Tom Kha Gai soup are both very delicious and a great starter for a lovely dinner. The papaya salad with shrimps is simply delectable. Our favorite whole deep fried snapper with spicy chili sauce with thai fried rice on the side never failed to impress us. We always have it with a bottle of Singha beer to wash down the spiciness of the dish. This unpretentious Thai restaurant will always be my favorite in the West Village whenever I crave for a fresh fried snapper and when I am in the mood for a more casual and relaxed Thai dining experience.

The pad see ew is my favorite dish. I love sweet sauces. We also had shrimp rolls which was crispy and perfect. Only gripe is they were extremely oily. The service was just okay. The atmosphere is nice. I loved the Thai coffee It was really sweet and just the way I imagined it to be. I would come back for the coffee since I feel like what we ordered was comparable to other Thai spots I’ve gone to.

This is it! The best place for Thai iced tea! Been here a handful of times, the iced teas and food are very consistent. Small little place that has one of the best curries I’ve had! Guys, wanna give the place a shot? They always offer Groupons so get ‘em while you can. Staff members here are polite, friendly, and attentive. Must have are the drunken noodles w/duck, green curries, and pad see ew! Don’t forget Thai iced tea!

My sister and I came in for an early(ish) dinner at around 5:30 on a Monday. I’m not sure if Potjanee gets busier later on, non Mondays, or if it’s more of a lunch spot — but the place was dead. There was only one other pair of diners there throughout the entire duration of our meal. Here’s what we ordered: 1. Crispy chicken dumplings — these were REALLY good!(thought a bit pricey at 5 tiny pieces for $ 5.95). I’m sure the ground chicken in it was a questionable mix of sorts, but the seasoning they used made it really good — not to mention the chili/duck dipping sauce that it came with complimented it perfectly! 2. Fresh shrimp summer roll — SKIP. The shrimp was microscopic and flavorless; they put WAY too much basil, so that was all I tasted. 3. Pad woon sen — I decided to try something different since all I ever order at Thai restaurants are Pad Thai and Drunken Noodles. I’m all for trying new foods but I wish I had stayed within my comfort zone this time. All of the ‘glass noodles’ were in pieces. The chicken was dry. The flavor was good though, I’ll have to give them that. 4. Pad see ew — can’t go wrong with this! Only thing is —(again), the chicken was a tad dry. I also read in other Unilocal reviews that the beef was dry too so maybe you want to go with the tofu or shrimp when ordering noodle dishes. On my never-ending quest to try different Thai places, doesn’t look like this one will be making a second appearance.
