A sort of luncheonette and hamburger stand on wheels, this truck offers simple inexpensive food, served, in my experience, with a smile. I’ve had a very limited selection of their menu, with no complaints: — An everything bagel, toasted, with cream cheese, tomatoes, and onions — $ 2 — Egg and cheese, lightly salted and peppered, on a roll, and on a croissant — $ 2.50. The kaiser roll was a little dry but I think that’s how these sorts of rolls always are? The croissant maybe wouldn’t pass muster in Paris, but was flaky and buttery. — The chicken cutlet hero sandwich shows the strength and weakness of this truck’s food: the weakness is that this is not exactly a gourmet affair – no whole grains, no avocado, no spinach, no sprouts, no free-running chicken, no nothing. This is simply a generously fried schnitzel on a slightly dry white hero roll with American cheese, a bit of tomato, and a sprinkling of confetti’ed lettuce. The strength is that it’s pretty tasty and only $ 5.50. There’s a surprisingly big menu here for a truck – oven-baked chicken, home fries, beef and turkey burgers, chicken– and egg-salad wraps, chicken over rice, shwarma, eggs, soup, donuts… I haven’t tried all that, but I’m guessing what I did try gives a reasonably accurate impression of the rest. The truck is reliably at the SW corner of 66th and West End.
