The owner/manager is extremely rude, curt and condescending. In addition, they are overpriced. Loads of better options in the neighborhood. Pass.

Very rude owner/manager, but not waitstaff. Today I ordered tea by the bar, at 11am in a cup of tea to go. I came back 10min later with my client who I was showing the neighborhood. We sit by the bar, even tho there was a lot of empty tables inside. We were asked by older guy, I guess the owner if we staid for lunch. We were not sure, so after few minutes of staying there he warned us that there is 5 $ per person. He walked away rolling his eyes and made comments that we are not welcome there. I really don’t know if food is good or bad. I felt embraced that I couldn’t finish my cup of tea. I used to work imn restaurant business in the past. I would never treat anyone like that. It’s sad and was very unpleasant experience. I would never go there again. I left $ 10 for a stressed waitress for a cup of tea I ordered. I hope she had a better day

i’ve eaten breakfast here often, but my breakfast here is yogurt with fruit and granola — which isn’t bad — it’s quick and easy! i just wish whoever cuts the fruit would cut back the rind a little more on the melons, but otherwise this is what i get all the time :) service is o-k — can be slow when busy.

The best part about Timmy’s is the location — so far north that there’s nothing else around, so there’s always room for you on a Sunday at brunch.(Although you must wait until noon for your mimosa — who gets up before noon anyway?) An excellent place to watch the tennis or the football while you eat brunch. Full bar, great service, and all your basic NY diner favorites(I am crazy for the classic egg and cheese sandwich).

Very rude staff and food isn’t great. It’s not even by the river! Just a sham. Ignore this place and go somewhere else.

I’m really glad I gave Timmy’s another chance after a hiatus due to poor service and failing health inspection. I like this spot because of the outdoor seating on 91st St, very few diners have this feature especially in this nook of the UES. Service is back on course, coffee is yummy and pancakes oh so fluffy. Thank you!

Okay place, but not impressed. Brunch ‘deal’ that can include a Bloody Mary or Mimosa. Was there at 11am Sunday. Told unable to order alcohol befire noon! Whyoffer it for Sunday brunch?! We got juice to substitute. The Eggs Benedict were good; home fries okay, nothing to write home about. I was told the pancakes were dry; only half were eaten. Pleasant atmosphere, nice open door for a great morning breeze. Server adjusted bill because we didn’t get our drinks. :-)

I’ve been to lots of diners and I know to expect no-frills service. Timmy’s raises no-frills to a bad art. With no more than 5 customers present, I asked the hostess if they could turn off the a/c for a few minutes. She said no, then realizing I might want a reason, turned her head to the back where a burly man sat, saying: «Other people will complain.» As we got up to move, our waitress said: «Don’t move, I’ll just just turn it down.» She did so. The hostess wouldn’t meet my eye. We’ve eaten there a few times; we are walk-limited seniors and it’s very close to us. But last night, when the chopped meat special came, it was not the special. «You didn’t say you wanted the special,» said our waitress. And when my friend asked if she could have sweet instead of regular potatoes, the waitress said they only had them as fries. My friend said fine, and the bill came with a charge for the potatoes, though the waitress said nothing about that. If my friend hadn’t asked for the complimentary wine, it never would have come. And Timmy’s is expensive! It’s in a rather posh neighborhood, so I guess they thought it was OK. But they do barely one seating a night, though the brunch does better. It’s a good location and a nice-looking place. With professional wait-staff and a hostess and owner who care, they’d do a booming business, but as is, my friend and i will have to look for some other place.

Mediocre and semi-depressing all around. Clueless, hapless service — it took two tries to get our waitress to have a salad requested to be tossed in the kitchen… tossed in the kitchen. Coffee tastes like Maxwell House — watery yet acrid. Greek salad with chicken arrived with bone-dry grilled poultry, no olives, mostly lettuce, micro-crumbled flavorless feta, hard pita(?) and gloopy brown dressing in little paper cups — and cost $ 16. High prices, pedestrian food, indifferent service, dingy atmosphere… would not go back.

Went there based on a recommendation from our Hotel Front Desk clerk on Mother’s Day — NOWAIT??? Sat at a table outside, and the food was quick to come out, and there were no complaints(even about our semi-unruly son). Wait staff was helpful and attentive. Great morning. Thanks!

The owner/manager is RUDE! RUDE! RUDE! My wife arrived and was seated at a table for 4. When she saw a family of 4 come in, she offered her table as she was waiting just for me. She moved one table over. She ordered a cup of coffee while waiting for me, and asked if she could move 1 more table to sit by the window. The restaurant was not crowed at all. The owner came over and said NO. I then arrived no longer than 10 minutes after my wife. I asked to move tables and the owner told me that we could only sit for 35 minutes to eat and we already used up 20 of those so he wouldn’t move us!!! I told him that I am a business owner, which I really am for over 35 years in NYC, and said the customer is always right when being reasonable. He told me too bad he wouldn’t move us and we only had another 15 minutes to order and eat. I have never had an egg timer put on me at a restaurant in NYC and was not about to. So we walked out telling him, loudly, that we would never be back nor recommend it to anyone else.

So I dont understand these terrible reviews. I really enjoyed my time here. The staff were so nice and the food tasted great. I live close by and have been looking for a nice casual place to grab brunch. It’s great when my parents come to visit. Good food. Clean bathroom. Great view.

The first and last time I’m ordering from this dump!(Pun intended until future notice for those that live in the area know what I mean). These pieces of s***(pun also intended for those that don’t clean up after their dogs in the area) caused me to get the stomach flu! I ordered a grilled chicken wrap and it came with a mixed salad on the side on Monday, February 23rd, 2015. Maybe it was the wrap or maybe it was the salad, but all I know is when I got home from work that evening, my body was not feeling right and I knew something was up. I’ve never ever gotten food poisoning. So I guess I can cross that off my bucket list now . Anyways, my stomach was feeling queasy that night and had trouble sleeping. The following day which was my BIRTHDAY, it was a nightmare heading to the toilet every time. I then knew it had to be from what I ate the day before. It’s been hell this whole week and as I’m currently typing this, I’m still feeling the same as how I did the first day I got it. Before I opened the food, something told me not to eat it, but my hunger was more convincing on not listening to that something. The salad definitely looked like it was throughly washed and cleaned before being served OR/AND whoever prepared my food was such a disgusting tool, that he didn’t wash his hands or wear gloves. I’m curious if there are any more Unilocalers out there that suffered the same kind of hell I went through at this restaurant. This restaurant needs to be dumped in the East River and dumped some more with the new dump site that they’re proposing in the future just across the FDR. I will be contacting the Food Safety and the FDA regarding this matter.

A delightful little eatery in my neighborhood in Yorkville in a spot that is otherwise dominated by residential hi-rises. It has large diner-like menu and a great brunch special on weekends. The service is very good and it is always easy to get a table. Looking forward to more good experiences here.

Service = Average Food = 1 star The food was god awful. I have eaten here 3 times and gotten sick after every single meal(I ordered different things each time). The food quality is disgusting and grossly over priced. My advice: stay clear of Timmy’s and head up to 86th street and york and go to the Mansion Diner where the atmosphere, prices, and food are tremendously better

The only employee in the place(with the exception of the kitchen staff) was very lovely. Our waitress sat guests, took orders, prepared drinks, ran the food, and even bussed tables. She was pretty great! The food wasn’t that good. I had yogurt and granola with fresh fruit. The fresh fruit was melons, canned pineapples, and some strawberries. The granola was a tiny sprinkle over the top. Overall, eh.

One word to describe Timmy’s…HORRIBLE The eggs were bland, pancakes were raw, coffee was at least 2 days old and the owner couldn’t care less! The owner is a grumpy old man who clearly hates the world. When we complained he yelled at us and refused to take the blame. What happened to customer service and the customer is always right? Does he not want more business? I don’t even know how they are still in business, nobody is ever there. Oh and the internet password didn’t work for wifi… Would we come back? only if the place shut down and opened under new management. STAYAWAY

Nice diner type restaurant with ample seating and friendly staff. The hostess on Sunday was very helpful. We had a group of 6 adults and two toddlers and were seated right away! A man who I believe to be the owner came by our table a few times. As it took us a while to get situated, the server asked if we’d like to put in the kids food order first. That was a great suggestion as they were able to get their food quickly so we avoided any potential meltdowns.

I’ve never really been a big fan of the kind of restaurant where the menu has five pages. It usually means that almost nothing is fresh, and they try to cater to the lowest common denominator. I’ve only been for breakfast, but it certainly seemed to follow suit. Yogurt with granola and honey wasn’t particularly good. The yogurt was most likely spooned out of a larger container, the granola was from a box and boring, and it was served with two packets of Kraft honey. All this for eleven dollars. Plus tip. The home fries were pre-cooked and tasted like it. Kind of mushy, bad mouth feel, and sort of crappy overall. At least the copious amounts of ketchup that I had to put on it was fine. I would not go back unless I was extremely hungry and there were no other options.

It was definitely not love here. The hubby ate here a few times for lunch and it was okay. Our breakfast food-wise was fine, the service on the other hand wasn’t so great. The diner was practically empty and it took almost 25 minutes to get 2 omelets. The coffee tasted old and the prices were pretty high — over $ 30 for omelets and coffee. Think I will stick with the Green Diner or even Eli’s.
