Good location, worth a stop, but the Beers are so-so.

I went here with my friend from the Midwest, who was acting like a complete Beyotch for the whole trip, who would not try or do anything new that wasn’t a freaking lit-up chain. Why not just go back to Podunkville and stay there, then, Sweetie? So here I am in on the second floor of a bar on Time’s Square. Drinking & eating, trying to enjoy myself. I’d like to write a review, but I drank a lot to drown out Princess Whine-alotta. So my memories are blurry. In college, she was fun. After college, not so fun. More like bitter & unhappy– weird for a 25 year old! She had just gotten married. :/So sad. This bar… I remember drinking, eating, colored lights, Times Square, a lot of noise… hoping my vacay would get better, maybe? Weirdly, I went to NYC again the next year with my Mom, and it was like being with a giddy teenager. ahHAHAHAHA! She wore me out and wanted to go out every single night, and also see EVERYTHING. That woman is freakin’ fun. Better than Lil’ Miss Princess Sourpuss. Therefor, Times Square Brewery, I think you have a great location, good food, and some friendly tourists there who are eager to have a good time. I know I was ;)

This is NYC and I was a tourist among other tourists. We enjoyed the Pale Ale and the Blonde Beers and had a couple of the non eventful appetizers. We were lucky enough to snag a table on the 2nd floor window overlooking Times Square. I got to sit, people watch, drink beers and eat all at the same time in a climate controlled environment. The servers were clearly not happy about serving tourists. Aren’t you working Times Square? Do any locals really go to Times Square to eat?

I once read a book called«Ghosts of 42nd Street» which talks about the notorious history of Times Square. That was a good book. I think now there should be another book called«Shitholes of 42nd street«and Times Square Brewery should gets its own page.

Limited choice in entrée selection and beer. They have practically no choice for entrees for their dinner or lunch menus. Granted it’s primary a brewery but they are also a restaurant which disappointedly they do not have a blender for mix drinks, thus they do not have a full bar. It’s too much hype since it’s in the heart of Times Square. I’ve been to breweries that have better quality food and the capabilities to make mix drinks and cocktails. I was close to starvation since they don’t have much choice for entrée and was left in a bad taste, as they are unable to conjure a Cosmopolitan drink.

I’ve actually never eaten here, but I have seen their incredibly expensive menu. That is of no surprise since this brewery is literally in the thick of Times Square, which makes it a tourist trap in some sad way. Their beer on the other hand is reasonably priced and their local brews are halfway decent. I recommend coming here during a late week night when all the bars around are closed. Its fun to drink and people watch from this location.

Before you nay-say anything in Times Square, check out the Brewery – 2-for-1 happy hour specials, extensive(and non-pub-fare) menu, friendly bartenders and unmatched people-watching make this a great spot to grab a drink if you’re with out-of-towners find yourself in the area. The beer selection is also amazing(check out the upstairs brewing area) – seasonal brews mixed with their house staples like Pale Ale and Dunkel will keep you drinking for long enough to forget why Times Square is normally tourists-only.
