This is the worst steak restaurant that I have ever been to. I sat at the bar for lunch and ordered a petite filet medium. I got a rare piece of meat. The server did not check on me once, and I had to wait for water for 18 minutes after I asked for it twice.

First, the service is kind of rude. The waiters, yes, I mean waiters, don’t check with u from time to time unless u raise ur hands and let them notice u. Not to mention they tried to GRABTHECHECKEVENTHOUGHWEWERESTILLSITTINGATTHETABLECHATTINGANDHASN’T SIGNEDYET!!! Second, there is no info about the size of each steak, the waiter said each steak on menu is for one person which all turned out to be huge sizes! The steak it’s at least 36−40oz alone. There is no need to order two sides at all we don’t understand why the waiters don’t allow such thing as share. We have no choice but wasting food. Not to mention the steak turned cold quickly and the taste changed dramatically tasteless, which discourage further consuming even though we are full. The steak really don’t worth the price except they are huge. It’s been quite a while since I had such unpleasant experience. The restaurant is surrounded by glass facades, be prepared with noise and echoes if you prefer quite place to dine.

Came here when I was in New York for the weekend. It wasn’t too busy for a Friday night. It’s pricy but worth it– my boyfriend’s steak was unbelievable and cooked perfectly, so was my dish. The only complaint I have was the service, which was okay but a little lacking for how much we ended up paying. Overall good experience.

You are smacked in the face with an amazing steakhouse smell as soon as you walk in. I died and went to heaven. We all enjoyed our meals and our steaks came out perfectly. Our service was not bad at all so don’t get me wrong there, but for the price you are paying to eat I did expect a more upbeat vibe, with recommendations and assistance as we looked at a wine list. We were left to simply do our thing. Came and took our order and that was about it. Beautiful establishment and great food!

Went in with a European business partner to sample some of allegedly NY’s finest steaks. And what you hear, is true: their steaks are among the best I’ve ever had. Prime beef, seared at extremely hot temperatures are the simple, but perfect recipe for success. German potatoes and asparagus go well with the main event. Service was speedy, knowledgeable, always there but never over-bearing. If I have one gripe, then it is the spongy bread served up-front. If that was replaced by a freshly-baked baguette, it would sweeten the deal.

I made my reservations months ago, considering the fact that not too many quality restaurants open on Christmas day, and the few that do would all be super booked if i were to wait til last minute. My best friend and i were going to go see a late showtime for the new Star Wars movie. So we decided to dine here before going to the theater. We arrived 20 minutes early, checked in our jackets, waited about 2 minutes, and were seated right away. I have to say the place was impressive. The décor wasnt anything out of this world, but the fact that it had high ceilings, and 3 of the 4 walls were made out of glass, really made the place stand out. Everyone was very well dressed and looking elegant; i felt underdressed in my sweater and jeans. The tables were nicely organized, not too small, and they had plenty of space in between one another. Unfortunately the complimentary bread wasnt so good. It had bits of onions all over it, which i despise. To start off, as usual, we skipped the appetizers and went straight for the entrees. My friend ordered a Rib Eye Steak with Mashed Potatoes. According to him, the steak was great, even though some of it was a little too charred. He said his potatoes werent bad, but they lacked the excessive amount of butter we’re accustomed to enjoying. As usual, i ordered a Porterhouse for 2 with a side of German Potatoes. My steak was phenominal; not too charred, nice and tender, barely any fat, and neither enormous nor tiny. Both cuts on the steak were great. Unfortunately, i wasnt feeling too good so i couldnt finish it. The potatoes were something different for me; very delicious. They were kind of like home fries, but with onions only, no peppers. They came in a well portion on a decent sized plate. I couldnt finish them either. For dessert, my friend simply had 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream; not much to talk about there. I, on the other hand, ordered the Hot Fudge Sundae. It was pretty good and enormous. A huge cup of vanilla ice cream with caramel syrup inside, chocalate syrup and whipped cream on top, with walnuts sprinkled all over it. That i definately had to finish; i was even hoping a second one magicly appeared. Overall, the place was elegant, Danny the waitor did his job, and everything was delicious. It didnt bother me at all to leave an extra tip for christmas. Even though i dont remember seeing any wine, im sure they have an enormous selection of bottles to choose from. The noise level is pretty low and the lighting is dim, making it ideal gor a date. Im definately looking forward to returning, or at least visiting one of the other locations.

We came here for lunch on a Thursday. The dining room was classy and service was good. We ordered — rib eye steak: it came with creamed spinach and smash potato. I ordered it medium rare and the steak was grilled to perfection with crust. — Chilean sea bass: my dining companion ordered this and it felt like it’s been frozen. It tasted fishy and bland. There wasn’t any of the typical fatty fish taste from Chilean sea bass.

Always wanted to find a good steakhouse. We were suppose to go to dinner at a nearby Korean BBQ but unfortunately, we don’t like to make reservations so we went there the place was packed and the hostess told us we had to wait an hour for a Table so we walked out. Hey it’s Time Square and there a hundreds of restaurants around so we past by Wolfgang and my friend wanted steak and we walked in. The place seems very dead not many tables. So we got seated immediately, so far so good. We sat and waited for a good few minutes before we even got a look at the menu and the waiter came and asked if we wanted anything to drink. That was quite long before he came to our table. And when he asked if we wanted any wine when we declined we seemed not very welcomed. I’ve been to their other locations and the service was quite welcoming. Unfortunately this one felt short. We ordered the porterhouse, which it did melt in our mouths. It was quite good. Overall it was nothing special or memorable for me. Though love their steaks. Food wise I would give it a 5 star but had to deduct 2 stars for service.

For a premier branded steakhouse operating in one of the most competitive market for restaurants, this Wolfgang location needs some extra curriculum help… and need it fast. Situated in the armpit of tourist district, most of the true New Yorkers would rather go else where than to venture there. However, their Porterhouse and Ribeyes are very good and well aged. But that’s where the virtues of my review stops. My biggest complaint is the service: at nearly $ 200/per person the waitstaff didn’t bring their«A» game. There are only three establishments in NY where you can dish out attitude and get away with it: — Soup Nazi(if he’s still around) — Deli Counter of Katz Deli — Peter Lugers Brooklyn Location I can’t stand attitudes when my glass has been sitting empty for a while, I’m out of sparkling water and I asked for them to bring me another. I also can’t stand completely idiotic process: dropped plates, crashes, broken glasses occurring 10 feet from us. It was utterly amateur hour. Please be pleasant it doesn’t cost the restaurant a penny. If this was my establishment, heads will roll. I have been to their Beverly Hills location which was excellent and this location is an embarrassment. Oh if the management is reading this, you may want to fix that piece of wood plank sticking up in the middle of the floor in front of the bar… it is a trip hazard and we live in a litigious society.

FOO!(That’s Russian for: yuck!) I don’t know if it’s just this location but I went to Wolfgang’s for dinner and was far from impressed. It’s loud and crowded. Service was lacking: waiter didn’t introduce himself, didn’t explain anything, and was barely around. The caesar salad was overloaded with salt and cheese(and this coming from a salt and cheese lover). The filet mignon was just ok. The peppercorn sauce it came with was just awful. As for sides: the«steamed» asparagus was huge stalks of asparagus thrown on a plate, the home fries were overdone and tasted like arsenic, the mashed potatoes were UNDERdone, and I didn’t even dare touch the creamed spinach. Even the crème brûlée was off. And, obviously, this place is not cheap. Pass.

IFYOU’REHUNGRYFOR A FABULOUSSTEAK… DONOTGOHERE! Horrible experience on my birthday! –overpriced sides; $ 12 for mash potatoes that served basically one person — $ 53 steak was overdone; told waiter twice and he didn’t offer to give me a new one; he said that is what I ordered — felt bullied by the waiter; he wasn’t pleasant at all — steaks were tough — $ 350 for four meals ordered: two steaks were tough, one right, and the salmon was decent. This California girl very unhappy!

Ordered bacon and porterhouse medium rare Bacon is good but disappointed in porterhouse we did not even finish it it was rare and it is NOTAGED it seems like it was just came from the slaughterhouse given the moisture of the meat. The real steak taste not there just the saltiness of the salt. Far far different from the original Wolfgang place from Park avenue. The place is by the way packed so it’s so noisy, won’t come back for 2nd time but will come back to Park avenue perhaps a.

Boring place. Mediocre food. The service was rushed, they wanted us to eat in 5 minutes. It was late, and post theater. What you want after a 3 hour Broadway play is to relax and chill out having a late night dinner with wine. Wolfgang’s doesn’t care about that, they just want to charge you 200 dollars for a uninspired steak and dry shrimps. They sell just the name rather than having appetizing food.

Entertained clients here during a recent business trip to NYC. It was the first time I had been to this restaurant and I was very impressed. The service was just right. Attentive but not too pushy. The wine was delicious — had a few bottled of a Malbec which went down very well! The food was equally great. The bacon chops and crab cakes were great starters. I had the rib eye for my main and it was lovely — however be warned… the steaks are massive(and this comes from a man who loves big steaks!). All in all, definitely one of the steak restaurants to try if you are ever in Manhattan.

Just like the majority of the reviews about this place, my experience here was also nothing short of mediocre. Don’t get me wrong, the food itself was great, but the horrible service wasn’t something that one would experience at a «fancy» restaurant. Or any restaurant for that matter. I settled for the New York Strip Sirloin done medium rare. My waiter even placed the pieces of steak on my plate without me asking. He even drizzled sauce on top for me. But when my friend wanted to place a last minute order, our waiter quickly slammed the spoons down and sighed in disbelief. I believe his name was Bob. I understand that my friend was indecisive and ordered at 11:30 when closing time was 12 midnight, but customer’s priorities should always be paramount and I felt like the waiters didn’t express that today. Not to mention he dropped a glass Coke bottle on my foot while serving our table and he didn’t even have the audacity to issue an apology. Other than the unsatisfactory service, the food was flavorful and delicious. We ordered the lobster bisque soup, crab cakes, steak fries and bacon. All the dishes received good feedback. My only complaint about the food was that the bread that was served was cold, stale and hard. Would I be returning? Sure. But maybe to a different venue. I was originally going to go to the Park Avenue location but they close at 11.

We booked the early dinner around 17:30, there were not many customers yet so we were immediately seated. Our server was not friendly, no frills. In fact he was very blunt. But he did his job well. He refilled our water frequently and took our order, not kept us waiting much long. We orders as follows: 3 of sizzling Canadian bacon 1 Caesar salad Porter house for two: medium rare 1 steak fries Sizzling bacon was perfect appetizer. It’s thick and juicy, flavorful. Since we didn’t have time for lunch on this day, my son was starved so he even ate most of my bacon. Caesar salad was decent and big enough. And for Porterhouse… beyond description. It’s tender, juicy, melt in my mouth… I can say that it’s the best porterhouse ever I’ve tried in NY. Only complaint was, though we asked it medium rare it came to be almost medium well. Still was good, though. I liked it with a simple way: salt and pepper.

Isn’t it unfortunate that across the 4 Wolfgang locations in NY, there isn’t a consistent experience for the diner? I made a reservation for four last evening for dinner at 630PM. I called ahead to confirm that the reservation was confirmed and they received my note regarding a birthday celebration as the occasion for why we were visiting. The birthday girl was visiting NYC for the first time and we wanted to make her birthday special while she was in town. The restaurant did nothing to elevate the experience for this important occasion. I do not expect waiters to sing or even free dessert, but just a simple acknowledgement and birthday wish from our server would have made the birthday girl feel special. Aside from that disappointing experience in serviceability, the food is good but dining at a restaurant like Wolfgangs, I expect quality in both service and food.

If you don’t want to read my long review: The food is great, the service is the FREAKING worst. I came here with my girlfriend and her best friend with her boyfriend and were expecting a nice dinner. I mean, it is a $$$ place owned by the famous Wolfgang. Before we started eating, my gf warned all of us that the place had very rude service. I didn’t believe her, but I should have. The host and the hostesses were very kind, however. We couldn’t find our reservation because it was under a different name, but they found it for us and had us seated right away. That’s when things got worse. I don’t know if it was because we were Asians or if it was because we were all in our early/mid twenties, but the waiters kept refusing eye contact and only treating the pre-dominantly white customers next to us. Sure, that sounds racist and maybe it wasn’t really a factor, but I couldn’t help feeling that way the entire meal. And a restaurant should never make its customers feel that way. Even after it took us forever flagging down a waiter, he was so blatantly bored and wanted to get away as he took our orders. He was lifeless. We might as well have been talking to a mannequin. When the waiters came back to give us our plates, he literally tossed them in front of us. For a «fancy» restaurant, this was just preposterous. Oh, and he proceeded to spill water and not apologize while filling up our glasses. I mean, what the heck! The food was the only saving grace. The meat came out sizzling on a plate and melted in your mouth. Eat it quickly or else it gets a bit tough(and it tastes much better on the rare side). The creamed spinach was excellent, but I can’t say the same about their potatoes. They were just kind of bland. I would have been much happier with their mashed. The waiters who scooped the food onto our plates were extremely rushed and hurried. If you don’t want to serve us our food, that’s fine, just drop it off and leave. I can serve myself, thank you very much. Again, at the end of our meal, it took forever to get the check. I have given over 150 reviews on Unilocal and only 10 of those are below a 3 star rating. This place had such horrendous service and left such a bad taste in my mouth that I have to give it a low rating. I just don’t understand at all how the service in such a nice, delicious restaurant could be so abysmal. I am never coming back here unless they make some serious changes in how they treat their customers.

Great steakhouse in midtown Manhattan! I’ve been to the famous Peter Lugers, Capital Grille, and Smith & Wollemskys and Wolfgang definitely gets the rank of top steakhouse. The midtown location is a bit touristy, but service was great. Made a reservation on open table and were seated right away. Ordered the following: Mozzarella and tomato salad– I’ve had better Crap cake app– Best I’ve had! Porterhouse steak for two– better than Peter Lugers in my opinion. I loved this spot. I asked for some real done pieces and be waiter and chef happily made some. Sometimes they give you the stink eye if you ask for well done at a steak house, but no issues here. Happy stomach, well worth the money, and overall great experience! Thanks boyfriend for a great time!
