Went in for an eyebrow threading. My esthetician was polite and did a good job on my eyebrows. Although, I’ve had better jobs done, this place is just fine if you’re in the area and need a quick trim.

I’ve been coming to Thread for over a year to get my eyebrows threaded. The service is extremely quick and professional, the space is spotless, and the price is great given the quality of the work and ambience of the salon.
Tip: Get a loyalty card and get a free eyebrow threading after every 6. Also don’t forget the caramels at the cashier as a nice little treat for yourself at the end!

I’ve been coming here for half a year now and am so happy that I discovered this place. Bindu makes a Brazilian so quick and easy and as painless as can be. Have not yet been disappointed. Make sure to request her when you come here!

Saw bindu for a threading, Brazilian wax and eyelash extension. She was courteous and professional. All services were quick. I’ve been here five times and have never been disappointed.

This is really not the best eyebrow threading job I’ve ever had. My eyebrows are uneven despite attempts to fix it. Save your money and go elsewhere. It looks really nice inside but I came out looking worse than when I went in. :(

Walk-​in, no appointment. Stopped by after work for a quick and relatively painless eyebrow threading for $ 8.

Just left and am loving my eyebrows! First timer, I work a block away and my face resembled that of a bear. so I found this place on Unilocal and headed there right after work. I am definitely going back; Sita did my brows and I was in and out in what felt like two mins. She listened to my request to not make them too thin. Place is clean and professional. I think I found my new threading spot!

I found this place through TimeOut– «The best brow bars in NYC» I called to see if I could make an appointment and they told me for brows they take walk-​Ins which was great. She did a really great job with my eyebrows. She trimmed, threaded, and aloed my eyebrows after. The only knit picky thing that I have is that I’m not sure if she sanitized her hands before threading. They have a $ 5 dollar min for debit cards, I didn’t have cash so she suggested I buy a gift card for my next visit which was great because I didn’t have to use an ATM. They also provide a rewards card and on your 7^th visit you get them done for free. Overall great experience in and out in less than 8 – 10 min

I’ve waited a couple of days before positing this.
Since I’m new to the city, I found this place on Unilocal since it was close to my university and I had time to kill.
I had a good experience overall– I’m not a fan of threading but they do a wonderful job in making sure that it doesn’t hurt.
The face wax was also great. I have extremely sensitive skin and easily break-​out in pimples. Although I did break out, it wasn’t as bad as my previous experiences.

I stopped in on a whim, I’ve needed to get my eyebrows done and this place was open. They didn’t appear to be busy but I guess it doesn’t take that long to get eyebrows done. The place is clean and well maintained, the woman who did my brows (I didn’t get her name, I know bad me) was very nice and quick. She trimmed, threaded and lotion end my brows in about 8mins… I was fully expecting them to look weird, but hey look great. Next time I’ll put up before and afters.
8 $ is what I pay at my favorite Brooklyn spot, so for FiDi this place is totally on point price wise.
I would recommend them with high marks to anyone that asked.

It’s been a while since I’ve been to Thread NYC. After my first and disappointing experience there, I was reluctant to go back. However I decided not to judge the business as a whole so I decided to go back today. I requested Bindu and Arti as Sadia the manager suggested. To make sure one was there, I called ahead of time, spoke to Bindu and told her I was coming. Even after arriving much later than I initially planned cause of work, Bindu was still nice and welcoming. She led me to the waxing room and began her work.
It could be an oxymoron to put pleasant and Brazilian wax in the same sentence but there’s no other way I can describe what happened tonight. I had a very pleasant Brazilian wax! Bindu was funny, sweet and very attentive. She checked in with me frequently about the wax temperature, the pain and if I had any discomfort at all. The temperature of the wax was perfect, the pain was surprisingly minimal and I had no discomfort. I fully expected to be in tears cause it’s been while since I had a wax but I wasn’t. Bindu did a great job and her warm personality was the cherry on top.
I’m already looking forward to my next wax, which I will definitely be getting from Bindu from now on.
I’m so glad I decided to give Thread NYC another chance.

I’ve been going to this salon since moving to FiDi in 2013. I have had nothing but great experiences with Bindu; she shapes my brows better than anyone else there.
The service is very affordable, quick, and their rewards card is a plus.

I came here around 7:40ish
I got my eyebrows done for $ 8, «Site» did my eyebrows for me and they were well done.
Looking forward to coming here again :)
Afterwards, attempting to pay, my card was declined, which was a new one, they reassured me that I can pay the next day, they were so cool with it, which I love, thank you Site for doing my eyebrows and also a big shoutout to the lady who complimented on my eyelashes :)

Update per my previous review:
I hate to say this as I was really happy with the wax on day 1, however by day 2 I was in so much pain! Either the wax was too hot, or my skin is more sensitive than I realized… my skin was swollen for several days and I even experienced some peeling from the burn!
Unfortunately the hair also grew back much faster than normal — after only a week it was very noticeable. I would like to give it another change, but I have a vacation coming up and don’t want to risk it. :(Maybe next time

I’ve given them several chances before I updated this review. My arch is never good from Sita. There really is not much correction once the hair is gone. I won’t be back.

I was starting to regrow my eyebrows out after getting a botched thread job by a place near where I lived. It was only a month in, and my brows looked awkward; I was dying to get them shaped while continuing to grow them out. I worked a few blocks south of Thread, read the reviews here on Unilocal and decided to check them out.
Atmosphere: Very clean and professional.
Service: Very friendly. I told my threader what I needed done (and quite nervously too), and she did a great job shaping my transitioning eyebrows. And it was quick too, threading usually hurts more than waxing for me, but this wasn’t as bad.
Threading is $ 8, waxing is $ 10. I say you would have to go about every other week– depends on how fast your brows grow out. They take cash and cards, so no need to run to the bank to get your brows did. :D

I came here for a Brazilian wax with Bindu based on all the great recommendations that she had. I have been doing waxing for about 17 years and have been through it all… the bad, the good, the awesome and the absolutely worst experience ever. So here is my review — her technique is extremely efficient and she has been doing it for a while. Not painful (comparatively) and she doesn’t drag the process out like some other people. When I say efficient what I mean is how much cleaning with tweezers you have to do afterwards, how much you didn’t get the first time around. Her technique is so efficient that she doesn’t have to go over the same area more than once and takes off a large enough area so that you don’t keep getting hair ripped out over and over and over… Those that know what I am talking about will greatly appreciate this!
She is one of the fastest waxes I’ve had — was in and out in about 20 mins and even had time to tag on an underarm wax. She chats up with you while she’s doing it and its over before you know!
I’ve been going to my previous lady for about 5 years but since switching jobs its not convenient for me to get there– but Thread is and Bindu is my new go to chick!

I don’t even live anywhere close to her. I actually took the train to come here.
Being Asian, I don’t exactly have much body hair you know? I don’t have bushy eyebrows ever. Some places would make my eyebrows overly thin. This place did not. I had Arti do my eyebrows and she did an amazing job. The prices are fantastic too.
Can’t wait to come back.
