East meets West at Sao. It’s a store with wonderfully tailored clothes that are affordable and very stylish. They are bold, clean, and sharply cut. My girlfriend tried on two outfits and nearly bought both because there isn’t anything like it in the Philly area.
The sales staff were very friendly, helpful, and honest. The only issue that we had was the fit of some items varied even though the sizes were the same. That’s pretty important for a clothing store. Regardless, the clothes are well made with natural materials and definitely worth it.
This might be a b-​day present/​shopping splurge day for my gal, but it’s not surprising as to why– quality clothes at affordable prices with style and flair. Olé.

This is an amazing place. Yes, it looks elegant and boutiquey and you might think it’s going to only have super elegant things – which it does, of course – but it also has amazingly beautiful, affordable everyday wear. I’ve gotten some of my favorite shirts there – machine washable, stretchy, looks great under suits, and has that designer flair.
And yes, I’ve broken down and gotten one of the embroidered silk jackets. Given the beauty of the fabric, the workmanship and style, again, they’re very affordable. And considering I am still wearing it and getting compliments 3 years later, it’s well worth the investment! It works with everything and delivers both comfort and that look of casual elegance I like to have. While Yeats may have declared that «we must labor to be beautiful» we don’t need to look it.
Check out Sao – the store is filled not only with beautiful things, but things that make you look and feel beautiful!
