Fabulous late night dinner here. Grabbed a table near the bar for 4 people, and ate delicious food and drank delicious drinks. Must order: Foie gras pot pie Beef burger Brussels sprouts Good but probably wouldn’t order again: Carrot tartare

Cocktails are really, really good. This is their only saving grace. The hot bourbon cider was delicious. I’d also recommend the cocktail named Start Me Up, which had bourbon, rum, honey, ginger and lemon. Ambiance would be nice if they reduced the number of patrons in there by 50%. Too crowded for my taste on a Friday night, constantly bumped and shoved. No room to stand or enjoy your cocktail. Feeling extremely claustrophobic and my girlfriends and I left after one drink. The«library» portion of the bar and the back bar looked really cute, too bad they were packed too. To get to the library or back bar, follow the narrow hallway on the right and through the velvet curtains. Crowd was a mix of hipster and it girls. Dress is casual. Service was ok, but our waiter brought us the wrong bill. Go during off peak hours if you want to enjoy the place and do not even think about going here on a first date. Go with friends, good friends who don’t mind getting elbowed.

Wow… The nomad bar has some of the best cocktails in the city. And boy does everyone know it — from the people setting their prices($ 17-$ 18 per drink!) to the masses of well dressed New Yorkers who crowd the bar every night. I had the Gentleman’s Exchange, which — if you’re a guy who likes his cocktails with dark spirits, stirred, and liquor-forward — I cannot recommend highly enough. Just be sure to cut yourself off before you walk out with a $$$ tab ;)

Every cocktail I ordered was amazing. Get there early. Table seating only for food but you have to try it anyway. Skip overrated carrot tartare and the chocolate bar. Order the tuna tartare, scallops, Brussel sprouts & Cookies n Cream dessert(4 pieces)!

One of the greatest bars in NYC. Daniel humm brings simplicity to elevated cuisine. The dishes are all classic bar fare however, humm and his team have managed to bring a sense of refinement that is clearly evident in both presentation and taste. The Humm dog is not to me missed and don’t leave without the burger. The drinks don’t play second string here they are just as good as the food, unique twists on classical favorites. An absolute must go!!!

This place has amazing cocktails! I got the«start me up» cocktail and it definitely didn’t disappoint. The bartenders clearly know what they’re doing. Also, I got dinner here and the waiters were very nice and attentive, and the food was just as wonderful as the cocktails were.

The Hair Trigger was delicious! So herbaceous and refreshing. The scallops a la plancha were well composed and and the perfect late night snack. The beekeeper was not my favorite though because the the peaty scotch overpowered the other flavor of the cocktail.

What a beautiful bar with so different areas, including a ‘balcony’ section. The library is quite lovely. The vibe is fairly nice and there’s a restaurant adjoining the bar, so there’s fancy diners around. All in all an upscale sort of crowd. Bathrooms: Really nice.

My friends and I were attending an event at the NoMad Hotel so we popped in for a quick drink, post-dinner pre-show. The place was packed for a Saturday night and there was a line to get in. The hostess very kindly let us in to order our drinks at the bar and bring them up to the event. My first impression upon seeing the bar was«wow.» There’s just something about this place that makes you feel like you’ve stepped into the Great Gatsby era. Everything about it was simply breathtaking — Everyone was well dressed and the décor was sophisticated and classy. They also had a large selection of cocktails and other drinks! Some of us were unsure about what to get so the friendly waitress helped us pick out cocktails depending on what we were in the mood for. We ordered our drinks and explored the rest of the bar. I immediately fell in love with the library area of the bar that looked like a smaller swankier version of the New York Public Library. We were told that this area of the bar was reserved only for guests of the hotel. Lucky them! We left soon after getting our drinks in order to make the event. I really wished we had more time to enjoy the bar! I can’t wait to go back and soak up the atmosphere again, and would undoubtedly recommend this bar to anyone who wants to experience a classic New York cocktail bar.

I love the nomad restaurant so of course I also love the Nomad bar. All the drinks are amazing, and I suggest ordering the bacon truffle hot dog! You won’t regret it

One of the best craft cocktail bars in Manhattan, no contest. While there are a lot of bars out there that are focused on thinking so far outside of the box, The NoMad Bar makes drinks that are classic with subtle twists and nothing but the best ingredients. I had the negroni and it was one of the best that I have ever had, hands down. The bartenders KNOW what they are doing beyond a shadow of a doubt. On the random Tuesday that I was here, it was surprisingly easy to grab a seat for two at the bar. Like many places in Manhattan, two is the magic number for prime seating. The vibes feel quintessential New York. There were moments when I felt like Bruce Wayne/Batman would pop out of nowhere. If there’s a dope Gothman-esque bar vibe, NoMad Bar nails it. It’s a great spot for a date or just to catch up with a friend. It’s not in your face hipster or trendy. It’s classic and that’s what I really appreciate. If you have the time, I highly recommend stopping in for a drink.

Decided to stop in for a drink and some food with friends before the magic show upstairs( )– definitely go!!! They have a very diverse, unique cocktail list. Island time was amazing! During a cold rainy Friday in NYC, the drink and the atmosphere was what I needed! And to top it all off the food was amazing some hits — shrimp & corn toast, the chicken(amazing non greasy fried chicken), the hot dog, the flatbread and the tuna tartar.

The NoMad bar exceeded my expectations. We arrived on a Thursday night and were seated right away for a table for two. The waitress was very helpful and attentive. We had heard the drinks from the bar were amazing so we ordered an Old Fashioned. It was probably one of the best I have ever had. The mixers at NoMad definitely know what they’re doing. For food we ordered the burger(dry aged beef mixed with bone marrow, topped with chedder, red onion and special sauce) so simple yet so amazing! We originally decided to split one, but when I had the first bite it changed my life and my mind lol. Ordered a second one almost immediately. This burger will change your life and it might even make a vegetarian consider eating meat again. Yes, it’s that delicious. I could’ve eaten another one by myself, but we wanted to try more on the menu. The Humm Dog was also great. A creative twist to a regular hot dog. Wrapped in bacon topped with black truffle & celery. Don’t forget the fries! Those do not come with the burger, but as a separate order. Mixed with herb, lemon & pommery mayonnaise. For dessert we ordered the Cookies & Cream. Basically ice cream encrusted with oreo cookies in the shape of an egg. Yowza! After we enjoyed a fantastic dinner we continued to order drinks. More old fashioned’s and one gentleman’s exchange. None of these drinks disappointed. If you’re in NYC and around midtown you must stop in here for dinner and drinks. You will leave very happy with the experience from the ambiance and from the food. I will be returning here each time I visit NYC.

This is a happening spot. The cocktails are crafted well. Love that the bartenders wear suspenders as a part of their uniform. A bit hipster, but nonetheless liked. They played interesting music in the background of this place. I was expecting more jazz, top 40, or independent. Instead they had Lauryn Hill, Jay-Z, Kanye, Eminem, etc. Speakeasy with an edge. Ok!

I don’t really go to fancy bars. I like the divey places with cheap beer and the character that comes from the patrons that have come and gone. I frequent casual places where there’s almost always a tv in all four corners and some kind of graffiti in the bathroom. I like the easy going spots. But you need to shake things up sometimes, pun intended. I went here last night with a friend of mine at her suggestion. The bar I was at inside the very chic boutique hotel was small and tucked inside a cozy nook that fills up pretty quickly. The bar itself is small, maybe a dozen seats lining the bar and two large tables to stand and perch. The background of the bar is subtle lit from behind with dark wood carvings, embroidered upholstery. This is the kind of bar you dress up for drinks. It’s the bar you bring your date. There’s no happy hour. No TVs. No wings. It’s pricey, that’s without a doubt. But this is not your average mid-town bar. A look at the original list of cocktails at $ 16 each has ingredients that I couldn’t tell you what they were if my life depended on it and others are made in house or sourced locally. I almost got a beer, specifically Le Poulet, the collaboration between NoMad and Brooklyn Brewery, but once the bartender started making my friends drink, I knew this was a time for a true cocktail. Here, all the cocktails are crafted and carefully assembled, presented very much the same way an entrée is in a fine dining establishment. Different sizes of ice for different drinks. Different methods of cooling, shaking and using a swizzle stick. It’s not just a cocktail, it’s a performance. Watching the bartender arrange a small bouquet of mint for a julep after rubbing the inside of the cooled metal cup with mint. Bending an orange peel to aromatize the juices and oil and then lighting it with a match. Grabbing bottles of liquor, syrups, bitters. Here, it’s more than a cocktail, and it’s more than a bar.

I had an unpleasant experience here. I stood in a spot by the bar, I was served by a bartender. Then, some time later, another one of your bartenders said to me «hey, how is that drink going? hey, I hate to be that guy, and the servers are being really nice. But you are standing in front of the …» some thing that the servers needed to get to. I have never had a server, in my life, say to me «I hate to be that guy». That’s how I talk to my friends. That’s not how I expect a bartender to talk to me, especially in a classy establishment. This sucks. I arrive at the bar, after having a great meal at the restaurant. I really want to partake in the awesome experience that the bar presents. But it is crowded and full. I start to feel crappy that I can’t happen to have a nice seat in a nice spot at the bar. It makes me feel, in fact, envious of the other customers. But I decide, instead of going home, to take whatever spot is available and order one more drink. A server promptly comes over, hands me a menu, and provides kind attentive service. This is validating, making me feel like«it is ok to stand here». But I do see that servers are milling about near me and I actually end up feeling trapped in this space. Then, some bartender who I don’t know, who didn’t serve me comes by and tells me that I’m basically not welcome, not even in the trapped subpar space that I had to settle for. Well, I don’t have to inconvenience the really nice servers with my business any longer.

The library bar is only open until 4pm for non-guests, so we were politely ushered into the nomad bar further down. It was pretty crowded, seating is limited to booths, but the bar is long and there are high tables for people to crowd around. The cocktails are pricey, but the composition is spot on. Gin is my favorite spirit and I’m a sucker for anything with St-Germain, so the Beekeeper was the obvious choice for me. It didn’t disappoint. Rarely are my drinks ever delivered in a coupe glass, let alone the taller 8oz ones, so I was pretty pleased at first site. The foam at the top from the egg white gives the whole drink a creamy consistency, but remains light because of the floral notes from literally every other ingredient. I definitely want to come in on a slower night or possibly an afternoon to see the library bar. I didn’t get to enjoy my drink as much because it was a little loud, but when you’re located in the middle of Manhattan, you’re connected to a hotel AND you make great drinks, that can’t be helped.

Did you ever want to have cocktails in a Restoration Hardware store with your close girlfriends? If so, The NoMad Bar is THAT place. Literally, when walking around, washing your hands in that amazing marble slab sink, you will feel like you are eating/drinking in a Restoration Hardware store. Much fancier than my normal digs. I had SOOOO much fun with my girlfriends last night and the staff was helpful, playful and quick — the perfect trifecta for a cocktail lounge/bar. If I could rate the amount of fun I had over those 4+ hours of libations, amazing conversations and strengthened bonds, I’d give NoMad 5 stars. But Unilocal is not about that. Unilocal is where I am to provide an objective review of the food/drinks(at least I hope). So, now onto the food and drinks. Unfortunately, they were not that amazing. DRINKS: We ordered and shared the following cocktails: Hotel Nacional Special(bougie rum punch), English Heat, Hot Lips(not hot at all) and a whisky drink w/the word«manly» in the title. I later ordered a Viognier wine, which was not unique. Drinks were not bad but definitely not mixologist, mind shattering amazing like Freeman’s Restaurant in LES or even Dick & Jane’s Speakeasy Bar in Ft. Greene, BK. But it slowly became clear that you go to NoMad for the décor, ambiance… and perhaps for those in the financial/corporate industry, to be seen? Considering that my friends and I are all non-profit scrappy female attorneys of color who live and roam primarily in Brooklyn, it was a welcomed, totally«not our scene» type of night. We had to quickly find a spot for drinks after an annual gala that we attended down the street and NoMad was the Unilocal location of choice. FOOD: We ordered the Tuna Tartare(based on the server recommendation) and the french fries. I tend to be verbose. But on this one, all I can say is BLAH&BORING, … at least we had some snacks to soak up the cocktails. Will I be back? SURE. But not because of the drinks and definitely not because of the food. If I did go back, it would be for nostalgia with the girlfriends I went with last night OR to bring an out of town guest, since the ambiance is sooo NY(Read: Manhattan) sophisticate, cool.

This is the best way to start your trip with a bang. This gave me the impression of NY: people, bartenders, level of noise, ambiance, and pricing(bar wise). As me and my friend arrived in NY for the first time we stopped here around 10 pm to grab a drink. There were lots of people just talking & lounging around. They’re all having a good time laughing and blowing cash lol People are dressed well and are made to impress others here at NoMad. It’s like the movies where bars are shown in NY and that cliché picture of it. The bartenders are straight forward. They know what the hell they’re doing and they can make almost everything blind folded if needed to. I ordered an old fashioned with Bulleit Rye. The drink was fantastic. They use square block cubes for their cocktails which is nice. The way my drink was made was perfect in terms of the amount of each ingredient. Jonathan, the head bartender, did an amazing job talking to my friend and I about NY and drinks. Even though they were slammed, him and his crew took the time to get intimate with their customers on the bar. They are quick and efficient here. My cocktail was priced at $ 18 so this gives off a ball park price for most of their traditional cocktails. It’s expensive but well worth the experience here. This is one of the best cocktail bars out here!

Nomad may have officially won the crown for best cocktails in NYC in my opinion. Whether one agrees or not, it certainly has become my go to bar in Manhattan and overall one of the best in the city. The cocktail resurgence is in full effect and Nomad is one of the places leading the charge. The drinks here are delicious, creative, strong and carefully concocted. Every cocktail tastes like the best drink of your life and will make you want to try every other cocktail on the menu. The«Start Me Up» and the«Hair Trigger» are absolute musts, and are possibly the best cocktails I’ve ever had, period. The food is almost just as good. The fried chicken with chili lime yogurt is delicious and the perfect bar bite to go with these delicious drinks. The chicken was juicy and delicious, though maybe slightly too floury which caused a bit too much excess skin. I also had the flatbread which was very good. The vibe is trendy, upscale and the drinks are fairly expensive. There’s a restaurant section for sit down dinners and a private section for hotel guests. Regardless of where in the venue you are, you’re consumed by the cool vibe the place has going on via the good music and good vibes all around. One thing to note is the bar area gets insanely crowded on Friday evenings. There are only a few tables in the bar area, and they are standing only. So either get there early or be prepared stand in close quarters with everyone else.(Side note, there’s also a bar in the back that some people actually don’t know about. Through the curtains behind the bar) Nomad is hands down one of my favorite bars in NYC and the drinks are the reason why. This place makes it exciting to drink and gives you something to look forward to other than your standard orders. Five stars without question!
