I could see this being an okay option if this is the type of place(VERY after work Wall Street) that would work best for your party, and you reserve the back area with the leather plush seating. Service ranges from fine to friendly. Very nice décor, though extremely cramped in all areas other than the one listed above(meaning everyone in our party, even the most stick thin, couldn’t walk between our table and the next without literally rubbing up against multiple people). Music was quite loud. Not so loud that conversation with people right next to you was impossible. But loud enough that, after only 45 minutes, I left with ringing ears. And you had to yell from your gut to get the attention of someone at the other end of the table. The pour on the Long Island is child’s play, which makes me think the other drinks have to be equally weak(if you don’t get a customer toasty with a drink that mixes five different types of hootch? You ain’t trying to get customer’s toasty). I have never been given this drink in such a dainty cup; no volume worth speaking of for this sticker price. For $ 14, even in this area, I’ve always received more, along with a nice little buzz. Nada here. So stick to beer. The food looked fine. No one complained, though no one raved. On the plus side — and with props — they were fine letting everyone in a large party pay individually. If you like this kind of Brooks Brothers crowd, give it a whirl. Otherwise, no go. This is about as far from an Irish Pub as I’ve yet to experience.

Very average food and really good/friendly service. What drew me to this place is the interesting menu. I was disappointed as the flavors were extremely average. Ordered the tater tots with cheese and bbq shaved pork, brisket and wild mushroom empanadas and chicken tandoori skewers. The pork was not that tasty at all and the empanadas were bland as well which didn’t make sense given the ingredients. The skewers were good. I would come back for the service, drinks, location and ambiance but probably not for food.

When I first walked in I got the«middle-aged» bar feel. Probably because there was only middle-aged people around me. I immediately got a seat with my friend and the waitress service was right there to help us out! About a half an hour into our dinner a lot more people showed up of various ages. Thus, it can be confirmed that this is not just a bar for middle-aged people as I perceived initially. The food is SOGOOD! My friend and I decided to make The Long Room a standard meeting place for our dinner/drinks! The bartender even walks around asking about people’s drinks– which I thought was really thoughtful and it made the whole experience very pleasant and it was nice to put a face to a usually invisible person! I’m definitely coming here again and so should you.

Was better than I expected. Went b/o cold weather and ptoximity to our hotel. Menue rather extensive for pub food. Extensive beer selection. Was relatively quiet this Sunday evening compared to my one previous visit a couple of years ago. Able to hold a coversation w/o yelling back and forth. I had the baby back ribs that were quite good and meaty and very tender. Wife had the ciabatta which she said was good. Guests liked their various burgers. Mouse and cheese cake for desert were also good. Reasonable prices considering the location just off Times Square. Serviuce fair.

Great place in Times Square area to grab a drink and catch a game. They have a really long bar, which I assume has something to do with the name. The place definitely has a pub feel. Even has a wall of «many leather bound books.» Lots of beers and a full bar. Even carried a Louisiana(local for me) Abita Mint Julip beer. While we were there an very very inebriated man came in and the Irish(?) bartender refused him service but offered him food so he is owed many kudos and respect for doing that and then keeping his calm through it all.

Time Squares shit show can wear thin on any good New Yorkers soul unless of course you’re a tourist gawking and taking pics with one of the 650 spidermen or the painted naked ladies which happen to my personal favorite. Next time escape for a quick bite and a brew at the Long Room. $ 1 anytime oysters just off the craziness of time square, yep bring it on. Yes, $ 1 oysters, baby. All the time, hell that’s reason alone for me to pop on in. Well there isn’t a variety. Typically long islands finest fresh with plenty of cocktail with horseradish and crackers. I’ve been known to destroy a few dozen or so per sitting. A massive variety of craft beer selections and I mean massive. They’re always quick to offer up samples which makes the decision a bit easier on the gullet because I despise beer crimes. Always cold and goes down oh so well while accompanying those briney slimy crustaceans. A gastropub that hits the spot every time. The rest of the menu is of your typical pub grub, affordable and comforting. Me, I come for the oysters and multiple brewbakers. Quick and attentive friendly service in a clean establishment even during crowded after work happy hours. I nice place to meet up with coworkers or friends while avoiding the tourist stampede to the chain type places just a block away. So the next time you find yourself feeling a bit claustrophobic from Time Square congestion, head for a quickie at the Long Room.

It’s a LONGROOM… at least in the front. Then it opens up in the back to some booths and a few long tables. Note on reservations: ONLYBEFORE7! NORESERVATIONSTAKENAFTERTHAT! On a weeknight, you’ll probably be okay. The beer selection was nice. Two pages of tap beers including the great OMMEGANGVOS! We only ate appetizers, but I can tell you that the tuna… seared on the outside and nearly raw inside, with an orgasm-inducing mushroom sauce… is worth a star by itself. The buffalo wings and calamari were okay, but not spectacular. Our waitress was friendly but left early(around Midnight). We were on our own after that. Not a big deal, but it would’ve been nice if there were a night shift. –Drink Club NYC is a roving group of NYC a different bar every week

Stopped by for an early dinner before an event. Nothing fancy, just a burger and a draft beer. One of the better burgers which I have had in a while. Comes with good fries. Basic burger was inexpensive at $ 12.95 with extras an addition $ 1.00 or $ 2.00. So a bacon cheeseburger came to $ 15.95, A Smithwicks — 12 ounce pour — was $ 7.50. I forgot to count the taps but might be twelve. I recall two versions of Sam Adams, Stella, Brooklyn Lager, Guinness, Harp, Smithwicks but that is not a complete list. Bartenders were friendly, efficient. A few smaller flat screen tvs. Not a sports bar. Worth a try. I will go back.

Solid place with good staff who are attentive. Food is good — I would recommend the artichoke dip, the tuna, and the charcuterie plate which is surprisingly classy! It’s a busy place in Midtown for those coming after work, but they treat you well if you’re able to find a place to perch.

Nothin like a good gastropub to hit the spot. Stopped in this place for a beer while we were in the area and decided to dive into the menu after having a drink(you know how that goes). P. S. They have an excellent and diverse beer selection. Ambiance — Typical irish gastropub décor but very modern and upscale. Looks like it gets taken care of very well. Service — We ate at the bar and the bartender was very nice and helpful. Informative and able to help the many questions we had on the menu. Food — Everything crusted Ahi Tuna to start. So good! Shitakke mushrooms with the freshness of the tuna was dynamite. Also went with the«Short Rib Empanadas». Great crust and very generous amount of filling of short rib. Light dips in the porcini sour cream? Heaven. Will be back to explore more of the menu as its moderately priced for the area and a great deal!

Good late-night place to go to get some late night food. Atmospheres what you’d expect for a typical pub. Pricing was very reasonable for beers and alcohol. Had the delirium tremens Belgian beer which they charged $ 11 and also a couple Johnny Walker Black labels which were $ 10.50 quite reasonable considering it’s New York City and it was A Friday night. For food we had the short rib empanadas which were fairly decent for late-night barfood. Also had the chicken schnitzel sandwich which was just basically chicken tenders between a piece of bread it was tasty food, and reasonable to two pair along with the beers we. were drinking. Lastly had the apple pie which was also again average but not bad for late night meal. Service was good the waiter that we had replaced our original server who decided to leave he was very attentive to our needs. I did complain on my original beer order since the beer came with almost half a glass head. After my complaint the second beer came much better poured. The explanation I received was that since it’s an expensive beer they don’t fill up the glass to a regular poor level which was kind of lame. If you’re going to sell a beer and make it smaller poar then at least you should note that in the menu somewhere. All in all if I was in the theater district and wanted a place to grab something late night this would be one of the places I would consider. I would consider this place to be above average nothing spectacular but a solid place to go to late night.

We came in for a few drinks with a friend that works on Broadway. My review is based on an extended stay at the bar and a few pints of Guinness. As my friends know, a proper pour of Guinness is crucial to its enjoyment and they do it right here at The Long Room. A cool spot located hesitantly close to Times Square was surprisingly not too touristy or crowded. The atmosphere is dark and upscale with nooks and crannies throughout the bar that are inviting you to stay a while. Prices were reasonable and this bar showed me that you CAN find a spot worth your money around the square. Thanks!

In the hustle of the theater district you can become overwhelmed with the rush of chain restaurants and the madness of the crowd… But right on 44th street — across from the Belasco theater I found this quaint little Irish gastropub. I was in the mood for a burger, but was quickly drawn to the turkey burger — and was not disappointed in my selection. The flavorful hand formed patty rested on slices of crisp green apple — and was smothered in melted Brie. The real star however was the amazing fig jam — so many layers of flavors no other condiments were even considered! It came with a mound of house cut fries — and the most exceptional service. I am here on a Monday afternoon — so foot traffic is light. But the people around me are locals and repeat customers and that says a lot about this spot. I know before or after a show the wait will be longer, but this is food worth waiting for.

Came in this past weekend with a large group of friends. At first from the reviews and ambiance of the place, we had high hopes. But shortly after we were assigned a waitress and it came to the food and drinks we were extremely let down. Service — I think we saw our waitress voluntarily come over once, maybe twice. Every other time we had to flag her down(if we could find her). It got to the point where we felt since we were such a large group, she was guaranteed a good tip, so slacked on giving us good service, or any kind of service for that matter. Food The food was horrible. I ordered a chicken burger, and it tasted like a chicken sausage on a soggy bun. Two friends ordered shepards pie which should have been called mashed potato pie with two to three pieces of vegetables thrown in it. The fries and calamari were wayy salty too. The food tasted like it was pre-packaged and frozen, then re-heated and served to customers. The only nice thing about this place was the décor and bar area. Other than that, I don’ have much good things to say. We certainly won’t be back.

What can I say? The only restaurant on New Year’s Eve that was by far the most welcoming, humbling, sophisticated, and elegant bar /pub /restaurant /hangout place in Downtown Manhattan has to offer! Hostess had a constant and genuine smile the whole entire night! Bartender was one of the friendliest and most accommodating individual a visitor could ever need! Food was absolutely delicious, although bit pricey but c’mon, it’s New York on New Year’s Eve LOL! Totally worth it! Gave my word and told the hostess that I’d rate them on Unilocal, well here it is, if I could rate this establishment a ten star, I would! Sincerely, Jimmy

This is an okay place to grab a drink in midtown. It’s got more of an «after work» vibe than a «tourist» vibe. The place looks great. I sat in the back to have dinner and I loved the couches, the fireplace and all the little nooks and crannies. Service was fine. No problems with it but nothing exceptional. For the beers, they have two pages of draft beers, which seems like a lot. But if you drink a lot of beer, you won’t see anything that you can’t get at the majority of bars on 9th Avenue. And just curious, why do they list«Bud Light» under the«International» beers? Food was okay. Tasted like something you might get at a stadium rather than a gastropub. The mac n cheese bites were huge. Usually things called«bites» are small enough to pop in your mouth. These giants mounds might be considered a bite if you’re Carly Simon or Mick Jagger, but for those of us with average-sized pie holes, you’ll need a fork and a knife. My buddy’s pork chop reuben was tiny. I’ve seen bigger reuben sandwiches at Denny’s. That said, it was ok. My buffalo flatbread pizza was ok, but let me tell you, a flat bread usually has a thin crust. Seriously, the crust on mine was about as thick as a Pizza Hut individual pan pizza. It was incredibly filling and I couldn’t finish it. The buffalo chicken was tasty but not too spicy. Overall, food was okay but again, nothing outstanding. You probably won’t be disappointed if you go here. As for me, I’d probably go to BXL over this place because the food is better and they have a few more interesting beers.

We dined here after attending a performance of Hedwig and the Angry Inch at the nearby(literally across the street!) Belasco Theatre. SETTING: Lounge area in the front with seating at the bar, as well as tables in the rear of the restaurant. FOOD /DRINK: My friend and I both decided to start with a Guinness each; cheers to NYC! We shared the buffalo chicken wings appetizer, while I chose the pork chop reuben and he decided on the fish and chips. The buffalo wings was a decent portion; no complaints about the appetizer at all. We both thought our food was delicious and probably would’ve eaten every bite if we weren’t stuffed. SERVICE: Very good. Our server was very polite and patient. We took some time to decide on drinks, and he was more than willing to explain about the various beers on their menu. He checked on us periodically throughout our meal. TALK: We had a wonderful conversation with a fellow diner who also was the show that evening(she was sitting at the next table). As it turns out, the friend who was supposed to accompany her to the show cancelled, and so she decided to sell the ticket back to the theatre. Ironically, the man who bought the ticket was also vacationing from Hawaii. Talk about a small world indeed. BOTTOMLINE: Good food. Decent service.
