A downright serene place to be in the East Village on a Friday night. That doesn’t mean it was Burp Castle level of quiet, but it’s what I would expect in a civilized place on a Friday. The staff were super nice and accommodating, if busy. I felt immediately at home. The beer list is nice, but for New York, it’s a little tame. They lean towards mainstream Belgian beers and just one or two interesting numbers(a Dogfish Head collabo that the bartender oddly panned as «maybe you shouldn’t get it, it tastes like Bud». Angeline P. got it, and it was definitely a little better than that.) Either way, this isn’t a beer head’s place, it’s just OK in that department. It however is a purpose driven place to hang out, have a round, and catch up with some friends. Beers run about $ 8 and wines about $ 10. It’s an average and respectable price for the neighborhood but not awesome. That makes it a 3 but with the above average design and mood and overall calm compared to the adjacent Village Pourhouse type places in the area, I’d bump it to a 4. Will be back when it suits the occasion.

I can say with 100% confidence that this place has the WORSTSERVICEINALLOFNYC. To the gentleman with the manbun behind the counter(and I have nothing against man buns): it wouldn’t hurt to check to see how your guests are doing even once, if they want a refill, or even briefly introduce the menu when the bar is not busy at all. He was so disrespectful from the moment we walked in, and he continued to sigh and roll his eyes as we ordered our drinks. I’m not expecting my bartenders to always be in the best mood possible and be ‘chipper,’ but at least engage me a little bit, and do your most basic responsibilities as a bartender. Thank you for a bloody awful experience. I had to think twice about even leaving you a tip.

Love this place! Great, warm, relaxing neighborhood joint with a tasteful selection of dank beers and wines. Not pretentious at all and the bartenders and very pleasant to talk to.

Great selection of taps & super friendly staff & people sitting at the bar. Watched a Mondy night football game while on holiday in NYC& felt totally welcomed by the regulars. Great pub!

Tight, cozy, lot’s of wood and a smiling bartender with a killer handlebar mustache. Oh yeah, and an amazing tap list at very reasonable prices.

Not a big place, but several times I’ve been wondering around the EV wondering where to grab a quick drink. The immigrant tap room has come up a couple times and both times the little sitting area in the window was available. They have a number of solid beers on tap, plus wine(which I also believe comes in via tap). Prices are what you would expect — $ 7 – 8 for a beer. Everyone is also friendly and quick with service.

Really enjoyed this place. My friend and I came here after walking around for a place to go after a show and it totally took us by surprise. The atmosphere is totally laid back and chill. While there was only one bartender manning the bar and the tables, he was really great and attentive. Had no problem suggesting different beers if they ran out of the one you wanted and was fast to get you another round if needed. Not an excessively long list of beer, but definitely varied enough for everyone’s tastes. It was great for a catchup session with my friend and we will definitely be back.

Good beer selection. I like this most because it is small, cozy, and quiet. You can actually have a conversation here and hear what the people you are with are saying. By reading other reviews, it seems like there are meats/cheeses/olives available? I totally would’ve purchased a tray if I had known. No menu with food seems to be around, just beer.

Do yourself a favor when in the area. Stop in and have a seat, say hi to everybody and just enjoy the camaraderie. A great little spot with a crew of locals who make all feel welcome. Beer selection is among the best, not the MOST, but the best around.

A friend and I stumbled into this handsome bar to have a few drinks before a performance at the nearby Public Theater. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming and the wine list is impressive. Prices are definitely below the neighborhood average and especially surprising given the quality of the wine they pour. Looking forward to making it back sometime soon.

Wonderful bar! A little off the beaten path and a great date spot. Delicious beers and tasty meat and cheese plate!

I’ve been here three times to meet for a first date. It’s a popular first date spot. There is a super creepy bartender with a mustache who always hits on me while I wait. The last time, once my date arrived, I asked that we go somewhere else because it was so bad. It’s also super tacky – the décor is menus and coasters colored over with bad artwork – it’s like a kid’s art project gone wrong. There are better beer bars in the neighborhood and I would not recommend this bar.

I looooove this place! I honestly think it’s my favorite bar in all of New York. It’s that awesome. Super great décor — cozy and cool. They have Harpoon Cider, which suits me well and a huge selction besides that. Just a great selection overall to suit anyone. I love an extensive beer list. It lets you try something new each time. Service is super friendly and pretty fast. Overall, highly recommended. I’ll be back again very soon!

Drinks: They have a pretty extensive list of beers and descriptions, but I decided to go for the cider, which is $ 6. Wonderfully delicious. There is a beer with a hint of apricots($ 7) that I would like to try next time! Their beers are all about $ 6 – 7. Atmosphere: You can sit at the bar or in the back, where there are individual tables. Each table has a lit candle, so it makes for a cute romantic setting. ;) It was ¾ full when I went on Thursday around 9. Good noise level — not too loud, but not too quiet. Service: Good service. They came to take our order(didn’t have to go to the bar to place it yay) and brought us the check after. If you check in, they give you free olives. Too bad I don’t like olives though! Overall great experience and cozy place.

Definitely my favorite bar in the city! The noise level for the conversations in the bar reflect well on the people who frequent The Immigrant. You have this nice low timbre buzz — no obnoxiously loud bankers or hyper extroverts! The décor is also incredible and woodsy. They have soft old school music playing. And the barman has a phenomenal mustache. We got the Dogfish Head Peche and the Harpoon Cider, along with the Unilocal offer for free olives! The Dogfish was incredibly fruity and aromatic. The cider was savory and on the heavy-side, rather than the light soda tasting ciders you get usually. Both were amazing! The menu has a short list of wine and beer available. I like how they curate to give you fewer choices, and based on our experience, I’m sure each of those choices is delicious. The pour was also incredible with the perfect 15−20% head. Overall, great bar with great beers on tap and a great barman. Highly recommend!

Great Drinks + Great People = A Great Bar Experience! This bar had an awesome selection of beers. I loved that they were all unique and none were like anything else you could find at your average bar. To top it off, this place was full of locals(that’s always a great sign that you’re in the right place). I would definitely go back!

Given how popular The Immigrant is, they expanded to a craft beer bar right next door. They also have about 5 or 6 wines in the Tap Room, so you can still get your wine fix if you wanted. I had a really good beer — I forget what it is called, but I knew it was good from the description — it talked about having brown sugar and spicy flavors, I believe. I recall it being an amalgamation of all the good things of different liquors: the warmth of bourbon, the spice of wine, and the palate-cleansing mouthfeel of beer. Get that beer!
