I was looking for a place to meet my friends before dinner. We were a big group of 8 so I made a reservation to be sure to be seated. I wanted something intimate so people can talk to each other without shouting. I think that place was perfect, very cosy and quiet. Wine was good, they have a good listing of international wines. This is a really good place if you want to meet and chill over a nice drink

The Immigrant has to be one of my favorite wine bars in the city. Intimate, classy, not too crowded– it is the perfect place for a date or catching up with a friend. Another plus is there are free olives with check-in on Unilocal! My friend and I stayed there for an hour and a half on the Sunday of a 3 day weekend and felt unrushed. Will definitely be coming back for more!

Nice lil wine bar tucked away. Not too busy, good PPL and good wine. Perfect for a date or just to catch a quick drink

Quiet, almost intimidating bartender. It’s unclear if there are two sides to this bar(beer side and wine side); I asked the bartender and he said no, but my friend said she walked into the beer side. In any case, their happy hour deal is awesome! $ 8 wines from around the world. Dimly lit, this place has a fake fire place lit by a single tealight candle in the back, with some tables for more intimate settings. Not a good place for 4+ people.

My boyfriend and I went here for a quick glass of wine and beer and loved it. We sat on the wine bar side of the place and got a seat in the back. Very cute, dark and intimate. The server was super sweet and friendly. Great prices!

Came recommended so a few of us got together here before heading to dinner nearby. While we each had different wine selections we were all happy with our choices. Snacked on the nuts and meat/cheese platter we ordered. Platter wasn’t large but perfect for the 3 of us. Staff friendly and helpful with wine decisions too!

I love this place. This is my second time here and it’s my favorite wine bar. I enjoy the ambiance and the music. If your around the area-it’s a must see! Also, the assyritko white wine is top notch! Must try!

This is my favorite go-to bar in East Village. The place isn’t big but that’s why I like it. I always sit at the bar so I can chat with the bartenders, all of whom are very friendly, and get my wines on tap immediately. The wine selection is great but I really am a fan of their ambiance — low-key and intimate. I would even go there by myself to just read and enjoy a glass of vino, which I’ve seen people do here.

Went here for drinks with friends and ended up loving this little wine bar. It’s a tiny space, so better for small groups. They have several wines and beers on tap that you can sample before ordering. The riesling they have on tap at the moment(Red Tail Ridge Winery) is absolutely delicious! And only $ 8 for a glass of wine during happy hour, which apparently also takes place on a Sunday since that’s when we went.

I went to The Immigrant last night to celebrate wine week with some ladies and had an awesome time. I’d been worried that the small space would prove too cramped and loud but that wasn’t the case at all. The ambiance was truly calm and romantic and we had no problem getting a little table spot to share. We were all fairly ravenous so on top of the delicious 4 dollar glasses of Sangiovese(I love wine week!) we split several orders of the meat, cheese, and fruit plates. All hit the spot. If you’re looking for Beecher’s– or Murray’s-level cheese plates with complimentary sauces and such, this isn’t the place(though they do serve cheese from Murray’s.) Still, the cheeses were yummy, the bread was warm, and the fruit was fresh. The service was also super kind and speedy. Overall, a new favorite East Village wine bar!

The Immigrant was the perfect choice on a cold, rainy afternoon for a glass of wine at happy hour. At first glance, their special isn’t much to rave about as their glasses of wine are priced at $ 8 and drafts at $ 5. However that applies to every type of beer and wine on the menu(that isn’t bottle-only), so it ends up being an impressive deal. Come between 5 and 6:30p and you’re set! Per the bartender’s recommendation, I had the Vouvray, which was an absolutely delicious choice for white. My boyfriend enjoyed his Pinot noir as well. You cannot go wrong with the wine selection here. Similar to other reviews, the space is smaller, cozy, intimate and dark — perfect for a date or catching up with one or two people. Will be returning soon for another glass!

the vouvray here is so over the top!!! bar tender is really lovely and professional and polite and helpful. I made a reservation for 6 on a sunday night and he checked on us frequently enough but never intruded. he had no problem with the fact that one of us was only drinking water and one person never showed up.

I guess I’m a little #biased when I write this review because this is where #brian and I went on our first date, but nonetheless this is an awesome spot. There’s two bars right next to each other — one is the wine bar and the other is the beer bar. I’ve been to both, and both of them are wonderful date spots. Side note for all you fine gentlemen taking some pretty lady here: make sure you note in advance what side you’re on. #brian forgot to tell me and I wandered around the wrong side for a bit OOPS! Have had great service experiences both times. We befriended the bartender on the beer side and had great recommendations over on the wine side(and hefty pours). The space is dimly lit and has limited seating, but I’ve been able to find a spot both times. Definitely not a wild night out type of place, but perfect for a small group of friends who want to chat about life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness or a fine gentleman trying to woo a ladies heart.

This place was adorable, albeit slightly confusing because there’s two entrances and they are both the same place but it’s like, cut in half? Anyway, service was a little awkward but the cheese plate was ONPOINT and the wine was lovely. Not recommended for large groups, definitely a casual date spot if you want to do something a little classier than a dirty dive bar or a frat night with the murray hill crowd.

Such a cute wine bar! Decided to come here for happy hour drinks & this place did not disappoint. I ordered a glass of their Sauvignon Blanc which was delicious! Perfect for a hot summer day in the city. Not many people were there when we had arrived but it does get busy later in the evening. Service was great! If I lived in the city, this would definitely be my favorite spot to go to for a crisp refreshing glass of white wine

If you can find a spot this is a cozy wine bar/tap room to get your date on. Or bring a friend for conversation. This isn’t a place where there is a bunch of screaming or overly loud music. They want you to chill and enjoy the wine. The exposed brick wall and the bartender with the curiously waxed tips of a old times moustache add to the charm of this little tiny place. He knows what’s up with the wine selection and can guide your choices wisely. The immigrant itself is right next door to its«tap room» which is more focused on beer. They have small plates such as charcuterie to enjoy with your wine. If you need to catch up with someone or if you want a nice date spot(lots of them on the other night I went and I enjoyed my first date with someone here) this is a good choice.
