Came to the Hill on a Monday night to watch the nba finals game. The positives: –welcoming and professional staff; res was made over phone and confirmed via text –good waitress service –lots of specials. On mon, $ 4 bud light drafts, $ 5 shocktop drafts, 2 for 1 apps(you can mix n match) –lots of TVs so no bad seat for viewing –they played game sound –clean and upscale space –you get 5percent off total bill with a Unilocal checkin The negative: –food was not good at all. Edible but average at best and this is considering the value as it was 2 for 1 pricing –the chicken tacos were the best of the bunch. Basic but decent –the loaded nachos stuck to the plate from overheating and overload of cheese. They were rock hard as well –the chicken fingers were small. And burnt –the pizza cone looked good but only thing that was positive about it was the garlic knots it came with Good space for game watching esp considering all the specials. However I’d skip the food here and just stick to the drinks.

I’ve walked past The Hill dozens of times over the years, but I went inside for the first time on a Wednesday night with reservations for 5 to watch the NBA Finals. Compared to some of the other bars/nightlife immediately surrounding it(or how I imagine they are), The Hill is a nicely decorated and relatively mature looking establishment, and I really appreciated that as we got settled in at our table. It was never crowded — no one standing in between the tables or bar area — but all the seats inside were filled throughout the night. In other words, it was an ideal environment for us. Wednesday specials are happy hour all night($ 4 – 5 draft beers, $ 6 well drinks, etc.) and 2-for-1 appetizers, so naturally we abused the deals. Food-wise, we ended up getting 2 pizzas, 2 orders of wings, an order of tacos, and chips + guac(plus our own birthday cake at the end). Aside from the mehness of the guac, we were all impressed with the quality of the food. The honey sriracha wings were especially a favorite amongst us — I definitely recommend if you’re looking for actually spicy wings. Drinks were exactly what you expect for all-night HH, but hey, if you get enough it doesn’t really matter how good they are. Service was for the most part solid; there were a couple instances in which we couldn’t find our waitress for the life of us but otherwise we were satisfied. The game was terrible, but at least we had great views of a ton of screens playing it as well as local baseball games. It wasn’t silent at The Hill, but we never had to yell at each other across the table or strain to hear the audio coming from the game. Based on that night, I’d totally come back to watch sports in a not-dive/sports bar environment. Overall, our party really had nothing to complain about here. I’m not sure I’d order their food on non-deal nights, but it’s really nice to know there’s a lowkey, respectable place in Kips Bay to catch up with friends or watch a game!

I came in Friday night and had a great time. I came in again Saturday as I had a good time and wanted to replicate. Not only was the bouncer rude to me and the 4 other girlfriends of mine, but after a few drinks he proceeded to «shoo» me out towards an elder gentleman. As if I was a prostitute! I hadn’t realized The Hill was the type of establishment to host this type of «activity». Disgusting. Don’t come here. EVER. Attend one of the 100 other bars within the neighborhood.

We came late afternoon on Sunday, a glorious spring day, conducive to dining al fresco. With tables outside their door on Third Avenue, The Hill fit the bill. Good for people-watching, we drank beer(there was a Sunday special), wine and excellent bloody Mary’s. Having indulged in a late brunch — dim sum in Chinatown — we weren’t particularly hungry. The four of us shared an order of beef tacos(good!) and loaded nachos with chicken(also good). Our server was pleasant, prices were commensurate with the area, and all in all, a pleasant place to pass an hour or two.

Typical loud, Murray Hill sport bar/restaurant with an average crowd attracted to cheap drink specials. Menu is varied but food is bland. Has a small outdoor space which is pleasant in good weather. Worst thing is staff — manager and barstaff do not make you feel welcome but rather they are doing you a favor by speaking to you or taking an order. Pass.

Went here for the Syracuse Virginia game. LOVED the interior of the bar. Our waitress was so nice and gave us a table even though the place was packed and reserved for a while. We ordered a few beer tubes and apps and got them right away. Waitress was always asking how we were doing, vibes in there are great, and the game was awesome [cuse won :) ], so the bar was going crazy. Definitely a really fun time and can’t wait to go when it gets warmer and the doors can be open!

I came here on Monday night for happy hour. There’s nothing special about this midtown sports bar, so I’ll keep this short and sweet with a list of take-away points. 1) Food+drink specials every night of the week, some more appealing than others. On Mondays, there are 2-for-1 appetizers(you get charged for the more expensive one), $ 4 Bud Lights, $ 5 Shock Tops, $ 6 well drinks/Cosmos/apple martinis/watermelon martinis. 2) Despite what their website reads, they do not offer ½ priced wines on Mondays; it’s been moved to Tuesdays. They will not honor this special even though it’s advertised as such. 3) It’s pretty dead on Mondays with one bartender and one runner working the whole floor. 4) Décor is modern and sleek. Great for a date or just catching up with friends.

I dined at The Hill on Valentine’s Day and took my boo out for a Boozy Brunch! It’s a Sports Bar/Lounge(TVs just about everywhere) but it had a Western feel to it based on the décor. It was really busy that day but we were seated quickly and ended up doing the $ 35 Bottomless Brunch — you get a choice of an entrée(additional sides cost extra obviously) and a choice of your beverage screwdriver, mimosa, blood mary, or draft beer I believe — unlimited for 2 hours. We had the mimosas… our waitress was nice and attentive especially when it came to the refills… and the food wasn’t too bad… my husband had their popular breakfast pizza(eggs, bacon, home fries, and cheese) — which tasted soooo good(I was jelly)… and I stuck to the basics and eggs and home fries(meh, it wasn’t nasty but I won’t lie I picked a boring meal I could’ve made at home, smdh)… My next visit I will definitely do better also they have great Happy Hour Specials during the week; and the wings I saw pass my table looked good enough to drool over so I’ll be expanding my selections. The music was a mix and wasn’t too overbearing especially since it was a sports bar. We were on the main floor so I didn’t get the see the second level but overall we had a great time just drinking and talking… It’s easy to lose track of time there — well until they give you the bill!

good food, somewhat dysfunctional service… granted we had a group of 16, but we waited an extremely long time for our food, at one point the waitress telling us some of it was done but since 8 or 9 burgers were ordered it was taking longer… seriously?

I ordered via GubHub delivery food. I ordered a Hill Burguer(their signature dish, apparently) The burguer came in an awful plate, with very small amount of fries and overall the food came colder than my ex’s heart. I do not recommend ordering delivery food from here. I’ll post a picture of what was advertised vs what was delivered.

Well, today was a weird day. Went for a brunch with a party of ten. For $ 35, you get an entrée and bottomless beverages for two hours. It was a great deal and service was prompt. During our brunch though, my friends chair broke underneath her into a pieces. She went down on the ground at the speed of lightening– the entire bar turned and stared, a huge unwanted moment of spotlight. We’re all average sized humans, so it was definitely odd and not fun. My friend is kind and laughed it off, but was obviously upset. The manager brought us a round of shots and apologized, but didn’t seem to genuinely care. He’s good looking, so maybe his ego got the best of him(ha!). He wasn’t nice and seemed to think he was above everyone. I was very put off. He seemed to think the incident was all my friends fault and that the restaurant was not responsible(even though my friend commented that the chair was wiggly when we sat down). His lack of compassion was unnerving. The brunch was good, the bottomless drinks were good. A weird incident made the day turn sour– could have been handled much better.

I lived right across the street and this used to be a frequent spot. Now there’s shitty service, long waits, hostesses that don’t have any idea how to gauge time, and the food is sub par. «20 minute wait» does not equal 60 minutes. And then a six top sits open for the entire time we’ve been waiting. I understand you don’t usually sit a group of two at a table for 6, but when it has been an hour wait, there are no reservations for the 6 top, and no apologies from the hostess, a tiny bit of customer service could have been shown.

Standard sports bar in Murray Hill. Watch out for Tennessee fans, as this is deemed a «Tennessee» bar, whatever that means. The crowd is slightly older for Murray Hill(later 20s –30s), they serve typical drinks, and get crowded around 10 – 11. Lots of TVs/places to stand, but little to no interior flare… its very bland.

After having a great experience at the Hill I decided to stop here last night with some friends and I was thoroughly disappointed. We ordered pitchers of beer which came out warm and flat. I also ordered nachos which took a good 30 minutes to come out which must’ve been because they forgot them in the oven because they came out burnt to a crisp. They were literally the worst nachos I’ve ever had and I can’t believe they cost me $ 15! Sorry, guys, but I won’t be coming back here anytime soon…

When I first moved to New York, I bought a Groupon for The Hill almost immediately. The Groupon was $ 29 for two; each person got an entrée and four — yes, FOUR — drinks per person. That sounds like an excessive amount of drinks, I thought. I think I like this city, I also thought. Somehow, some way, I let that Groupon expire in September 2013. Fast forward to this weekend, when my boyfriend and I wanted to go to brunch somewhere local but didn’t have anywhere in mind. We decided to go and at least use our $ 29 toward the final purchase. I did have a small hope that they would just let us use the full Groupon value, but no dice. As we were no longer bound by the technical stipulations of the Groupon, the bf decided to go for the entrée + unlimited drinks(mimosa, bellini or Bloody Mary) for up to 2 hours deal listed on the menu, since it seemed like a good value(it was $ 30, so it seemed very similar to the Groupon deal but with unlimited drinks instead of 4). He ordered the breakfast burrito and ended up getting 4 Bloody Marys. I got the Breakfast Pizza(potatoes, scrambled eggs, bacon, cheddar jack cheese), which was labeled«Best Seller» and some coffee drink with whipped cream called the Nutty something or other. The drinks were pretty good. The Bloody Marys had a nice amount of spiciness and came with some fixins like celery and olives. My coffee drink was tasty, but for $ 12, it went down a little too quickly. As for the food: The breakfast pizza was MASSIVE, but that’s really the best I can say about it. It was very bland, and needed hot sauce just to make it palatable. Even then, it still wasn’t good. For a purported best seller, this was a disappointing item. And I didn’t even try the burrito. The bf said it was pretty blah, too. As we were enjoying the drinks and lamenting the food, we looked around and noticed that at 34 and 28, we were definitely the oldest people in the entire room. Everyone else looked 25 or under and everyone either had the bottomless brunch deal or a tower of beer. This is a place that no one comes to for the food, and you shouldn’t either. Come here to day drink. And I just might do so in the future. Then again, I might look for a place that serves cheap unlimited mimosas AND decent food. Because, at the end of the day, you still have to eat something to soak up all of that alcohol. 2 stars for the food, 4 stars for the drink specials, and 1 star for making me feel like a grandma, but I won’t factor that last part in to the final rating.

I can’t hate much on The Hill. Yeah, the two dudebros next to me at the bar wouldn’t stop talking about working out, but it became entertaining after awhile. While it was hard to get the bartender’s attention to order my food because her back was to us while in conversation with a server, as the night went on she was attentive and friendly. They serve a quality burger & fries. With the extended happy hour special the night was downright cheap. I’d come back in a heartbeat.

The Hill in Murray Hill is a decent place to watch Sunday football games & chill with friends over drinks(mostly beer) and greasy(REALLYGREASY) bar food. I came here with a large group that reserved tables on the upstair seating area. There are probably about 10 TVs on the wall for you to enjoy the football games. We ordered pitcher of beer and some appetizers. I tried the Shrimp Basket, Grilled Chicken Strips, Hill Sampler(chicken wings, chicken fingers, mozzarella sticks), and Sweet Potato Wedges. The Shrimp Basket included 18 blackened shrimp served with cocktail sauce. Overall it was a bit too oily for me and the seasoning was kind of strong. The grilled chicken strips were really dry and overcooked. The Hill Sampler was basically a heart attack on a plate with chicken wings, chicken fingers, and mozzarella sticks. The fried stuff tasted exactly like something that had been in the freezer a moment before it was placed in a fryer… I really liked the Sweet Potato Wedges, which had sprinkles of parm cheese and truffle oil. The first order of the wedges were delicious, but the second order was literally DRIPPING in oil… so greasy! I would recommend skipping the food unless you don’t mind having your arteries clogged.
