First of all, I’d like to complement the practitioners at this clinic on their friendliness and their commitment to serving the people in their local community. However, in my case, I had a few issues with their billing practices.
I needed a general physical, lab work, and an EKG, but was uninsured at the time. While searching the internet for clinics accepting uninsured patients, I came across their listing and called for more details. The «don’t quote me on that» price they gave me on the phone was of third of the price they quoted me when I arrived for my appointment. Unfortunately, I had to get the work done in a hurry; so, I paid them without much of an argument.
I was just really thrown back by the disparity between the over-​the-​phone quote and the in-​person quote. For an institution based on taking care of people in physical/​mental distress, I found their business practices misleading and somewhat unethical, especially when compared to larger clinics.
