My husband and I held our Black-Tie Wedding Ceremony and Reception at The Edison Ballroom on November 13, 2015. It exceeded every expectation that we had. The Art Deco space is stunning and was everything we were looking for in a wedding venue. The service was phenomenal. The night of our wedding, we had a designated server to take care of us every step of the way. Even making sure that no one entered the bathroom while my bridesmaids helped me adjust by gown. Our guests said that the service they received was impeccable as well. The food was out of this world. There was quite a long list of food options for the cocktail hour, all were delicious. The sushi station was a big hit! For dinner we chose a basil crusted salmon served with cous-cous and a baked tomato, as well as filet mignon with asparagus and mashed potatoes. Our guests enjoyed both options and raved about them! The silent vegetarian option was also well received by our non-carniverous guests. Their entire bar selection is top shelf! We live in NYC, but stayed at the Hotel Edison next door during the wedding week. We were able to transport our décor items the morning of the wedding, and The Edison Ballroom staff went above and beyond to help us out and make sure that everything was perfect. The lights, the sound, the direction we received during our procession, and the speed at which they could flip the ceremony set up in the ballroom, to a reception in under an hour was nothing short of miraculous. We dealt primarily with Katherine and Bill and both were beyond accomodating and helpful. There were 230 guests in attendance and it was the perfect amount of space for dinner and dancing.

I have to give the Edison Ballroom a major thumbs up ten out of ten for making my children’s B’nai Mitzvah a magical experience, a real dream come true. The Edison Ballroom staff specifically Katherine Brandon and Bill Kaelblein were simply amazing to deal with. The executive Chef Mina Newman brought her A game and was top top top notch. She personalized the menu and made the most delicious food to perfection from start to finish. They all really cared about all the details and executed the evening perfectly. The sound and lights engineer Shawn Brophy was also amazing. It was the most perfect space to hold any event and it has all the bells and whistles included lights, screens, gobos, sound. I wouldn’t change a thing! These people at the Edison Ballroom are really AMAZING to work with and will care about making your event perfect for you. It was like a fairy tale a real dream come true! Thank you to everyone at the Edison who made this night so special!

Our company had our holiday party here this year. We had estimated about 1200 people coming, but this venue is so compartmentalized that you don’t feel it so much. Needless to say I wasn’t too impressed. First off, I saw about 3 hor doeuvre trays with the tiniest appetizers I’ve seen. One lady offered me a mushroom flatbread, which was literally a wheat thin cracker with some mashed mushroom on it. Another offered the Greek salad which was a huge joke: a slide of cucumber with a drop of olive and feta. I almost laughed. Dinner was odd: there was salad, about 4 trays of Mac and cheese, and sliders. Apparently other areas had different food but navigating this place was a nightmare so there was no way I was going to hunt around for another mediocre menu item. The venue itself was hot as heck. With so many people there, all of us were sweating and had our makeup running down our faces. It must have been 80 degrees and what’s worse is the ladies room was even hotter! I went in there for reprieve and left sweater. Easily 90 degrees. I was also disappointed by the condition of the place — old seats that looked dirty and old bathrooms. I’m not sure if this place is rated at the same caliber as Guastavinos where we had our party last year but it shouldn’t be. That being said if it’s a cheaper alternative then that’s fine. Regardless I would shop around if you’re looking to book an event here and make sure there is enough food!

Great venue for black tie or large work related events. I went there for a charity dinner and was underdressed– most people were in evening gowns and formal dresses while I was wearing suit pants. We went straight from work and I wish I had been told that it’d be that formal! There’s a red carpet entrance and you walk up a semi circular stairwell and land straight at the first bar. Nice. Really nice, because I needed a pick me up since even before I left work. The mezzanine level has mirrors on the side throughout the inner seating area. The seats that look over the ballroom/dining area are 2 people seating with comfortable couches. I loved their lighting effects but definitely not made for pictures to be taken by non-pro cams. Food was good– not sure where it was coming from. Service was impeccable. Waiters were all hipsters with swag, all the while staying professionally sleek. The dining area has a middle and back area– could probably seat about 150 people comfortably.

Really nice venue. 2 floors; 3 bars, balcony overlooking the dance floor and an art deco interior. they do a good job cleaning up throughout the night without actually being in your way and there was ever hardly a wait at the bar area. friendly bartenders as well. nice sound system and lighting effects too. evening started with a live band and ended with a clubby atmosphere with DJ and dimmed blue lighting. not sure if food was catered or in-house but the sushi/sashimi station was awesome! fish is fresh and AYCE :) oh, and the best part; DRINKSARESTRONGGGGG

The ballroom is too cool. It made my work gathering special and memorable. The venue has a super stylish and modern feel, incorporated with kind of 1920s décor. It’s in Times Square too, which brings that awesome nyc spirit. The per person costs were reasonable, especially considering how good the food and service was. The food was delicious, everyone I talked to was satisfied! I would highly recommend using the edison ballroom for any kind of event. It is extremely versatile so it could take on various events from corporate to social. No matter what kind of event, it’ll be a great one here!

My experience at the Edison Ballroom was nothing short of fantastic! I attended a work event here last month and had a fabulous time. The vintage ambiance was inviting and the staff was friendly and accommodating. Although I did not personally plan the event, my co-worker said the Edison Ballroom event planning staff was accessible and really well organized. The event went off without a hitch; the food was delicious, the drinks were great and I had a wonderful time! Overall, the event I attended at the Edison Ballroom exceeded my expectations and I highly recommend this space for any event!

Came for a work event and I can’t say enough good things about this place! It’s located in Times Square but it was super easy to find. Inside, the atmosphere uniquely contrasts a modern feel with vintage accents — very classy! I was impressed with the reasonable cost, given the outstanding service and quality of food. Not to mention, the staff were all super friendly and helpful during the planning process. The place can definitely be used for both corporate or social events so I would highly recommend having your next event here!

There are a lot of event spaces in New York and the Edison Ballroom may or may not work for your purposes, but either way there are some things you should know about the space and staff which may help you make a decision about it. The Good: The wait and bar staff are friendly, courteous, prompt and focused on their work. The food is good(especially the deserts). The management team for the EB are helpful and accommodating. The space itself is in good shape and versatile enough be home to all kinds of events(dinners, concerts, awards ceremonies, ball room dancing.) The sound system is well maintained and able to really flood the room with loud, well balanced sound. The Bad: The EB is not ideal for technical shows. The room and tech staff are not prepared to deal with what seem to be simple requests. Example 1 — The staff was unable to figure out how to pipe the DJ music being played in the bar area into the main ballroom so as to deliver a seamless transition for our guests. Example 2 — If you’re using a projector(SDI) in the main room you can’t feed that signal to the plasmas/lcds in the rest of the venue. The Ugly: The technical staff at the EB are more interested in acting like they know everything rather than being helpful about solutions. They are stubborn, territorial and surly which isn’t ideal if you’re working on a tight timeline. That said, they are professionals, albeit not very nice ones, that know the house well.

My law school held our Barrister’s Ball here last weekend. I have only good things to say about this place. It’s a classy place and the dance floor is spacious enough. Importantly, the food is fantastic and the open bar does not leave you disappointed. Bartenders actually know how to make great drinks and I never felt like I had to wait too long for a drink. It’s also located right by Times Square. Great times were had by all.

Was here for an event. I generally avoid coming to the Times Square area but made an exception to come this event. Still dislike the location. The room was setup with a stage upfront and rows of seats, not round tables. I think they could fit 500 people this way. I was sitting all the way back and had no issue seeing the speakers. AV was pretty decent I was able to hear and see all the speakers easily. There are a couple of bars but had to leave right after the formal part of the presentation so didn’t get to experience the bar service. Maybe next time.

Great venue for an event. I attended the WGA East Awards here and was impressed. The facilities are great; I was particularly impressed with the bathrooms which were numerous and I never had to wait in a line… ladies, how often does that happen? The theater is very classy, in kind of a Art Deco styled elegance. The location is also great, very convenient to west-side trains.

Absolutely love this venue! We had a company event here and we’re planning on having more here. The décor is really cool, like 1920s Art Deco. The food was delicious! The staff was very professional. The two security guards at the door became my buddies for the night :) Considering the location and the appearance of the venue, I would have expected per-person costs to be much higher. The event manager is very resopnsive and professional. All-in-all I would highly recommend this venue to anyone!

This is a great place to host or attend an event. The staff is rather lacking(but where in NYC do you find good catering service, really…). The venue is really beautiful and surprisingly spacious for the area. Around 550 can fit comfortably, seated at tables on two levels. The upstairs VIP room is great for artists or event staff to relax, eat in or use as a dressing room. Great place… and extremely well designed and maintained. Just wish they had better staff…

We had one of the best party at this place. Huge space(2 Levels). Décor of the 30’s with gorgeous chandeliers. Service was great ! and of course the bar was also awesome.

Be careful about security there. My camera was stolen and it was done by somebody there. It was an expensive camera with photos from my cousins wedding. The security guards are very deceiving and not trustworthy. Be careful about booking things there

A blast from the past! Straight from the 1920’s era. Perfect for charity events, proms, corporate functions, conventions, or other private or public functions(though not quite a wedding or sweet 16 atmoshpere). Big and open spaces. Two levels. Big stage for a live band or performance. 4 bar areas. Kitchen. Gorgeous chandeliers. Private sectors. VIP lounge area. Accommodating staff.

Last week I had a conference in the Edison Ballroom. Day 1 I show up early — as usual — and had to kill some time next door in the Edison Hotel. Yuck. That place was frightening. Luckily they have a W Hotel next door. 30 minutes later I made it to the Edison Ballroom and luckily it was NOTHING like the hotel — it was new, updated, clean, black, sharp and all kinds of bad ass. What a cool, cool place to have a small conference. Bravo AdWeek for picking the Edison Ballroom.

The Edison Ballroom is a huge space that has a lot of old world flavor! I attended an Internet Week event here and can imagine someone having a conference here or having a wedding reception here as well. With a staircase that takes you to the main level, smaller rooms and then the main area that allows you to look over into the wood floor below, this is an amazing space that’s in the Theater District.
