One of my favorite brunch spots in all of NY. You really cannot beat their avocado toast. I’m personally a fan of their Monterey eggs — so delicious. But really, you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Also, the little shop they have next door is definitely worth a visit. The granola is so good! Overall, butchers daughter is great, I always enjoy coming here for whatever occasion. It’s my go-to place when showing NY-newbies why brunch is such a big deal here. Highly recommend !!

I have passed by this place so many times and when friends say«Do you want to try here?» I always do the same thing… I peek through the glass and always respond«no»…Finally one day I relented and a friend and I finally went in. I should have continued walking… maybe running. I had a quinoa salad with veggies… it was tasteless and mushy… very mushy… I ordered a juice which they appear to be known for… it was warm… like very warm and tasteless. I was expecting a wonderful refreshing juice and I received… hummm-imagine drinking really warm orange juice that has been sitting out on a really hot NYC day… I didn’t finish it nor did I finish the salad… I wasted over 30 dollars where I only ate a quarter of my meal(maybe not even that much)…so needless to stay I was starving later. The staff is what I would call– I don’t care friendly… they know they have to wait on you but could care less that you are there. Almost rude but not there yet. Also the bathroom… is disgusting. like unsanitary. gross. The hype is not worth it… you would be better juicing at home and making a fresher and tastier salad. This place left a horrible taste in my mouth… literally.

I came to the city expecting a fabulous brunch. Maybe I’m not trendy enough for some of these brunch places but the wait was way longer than it needed to be for the quality and food options– definitley for the more healthy people out there. We sat at a communl table and the wait staff was pretty rude and place was super loud. I got a basic eggs and guac on toast and it was very good, but I did not love their potatoes which is a big deal for my breakfast. Probabaly wouldnt try it again but its pretty insta famous so worth a shot

The Butcher’s Daughter is a great vegetarian place if you want something light and fresh. We must have went there at the perfect time because we didn’t have to wait for seats. Our server was very attentive/stylish and our orders came out quickly. Spicy Kale Caesar Salad is served with local kale, avocado, almond parmesan, toasted almonds, crispy shallots &7-grain croutons and I ordered it with a sunny side up egg on top. All the ingredients tasted super fresh, light and tasty yet filling. Smashed Avocado Toast is toasted 7-grain bread, avocado with curry, mustard seeds & lime. Avocado and toast is always a great combo. When brunches are this yummy I could understand why people become vegetarians! This place was seriously delicious yet the food was simple. I will definitely be back to try more of their dishes.

This is a cute brunch place that has an LA vibe, and an NYC wait time. I came several months ago and the food was mediocre so the Monterey Eggs and the other dishes my friends had did not leave an impression on me. I understand that vegetarian and vegan spots are wildly popular among a(LARGE) niche group here, so I was not surprised by the wait but a bit surprised at how many of the juices and teas were already sold out by noon. I have to give props to the staff though, the crowd here tends to skew on the impatient/entitled/hungover/too busy instagramming their food to pay attention to you side, and yet all the servers were very accommodating and worked efficiently. Since I’m not a vegan/vegetarian, I have other options and will not be revisiting The Butcher’s Daughter.

Review is for their take out section only. WE tried their shots and premade juice in a box. Pricey for sure. Nice packaging.

One of my absolute favorite places to eat in Manhattan. Super fresh, creative, tasty and delicious. A true find. Staff is super cute and friendly(this time was Miroslav — best yet!!), décor is PERFECTION and I dream of this place when I’m not here. Avocado toast — inspiring(but the vegan version of the avocado Benedict isn’t worth it). Cold Brew coffee — some of the best I’ve ever had. Get it with the cashew cream. Mmmm. All of the juices I’ve had here are amazing — favorite is the pineapple, jicama, lemon. Perfect. BESTTHING we had was the vegan French toast. Don’t know how they did it but it’s fantastic. I liked it better plain w/o the raspberry butter, but both were great. They even had a plant-based bacon that was pretty interesting in a great way. Loved it all. Come back every single time I’m here. Always.

Not wanting to wait an hour for the egg shop, I walked across the street to come here instead. I was told it would be about a 20 minute wait for a party of 3, but we were seated much quicker because many people leave after they put their names down. We were seated at a communal table, which was a bit odd because I didn’t expect that from an American establishment. The seating was hard to have a conversation with everyone in my party. It was a really cramped space where customers and the waitstaff were constantly hitting my back, which was another drawback. When I got the menu, I finally noticed it was all vegetarian. Not my kind of place, but veggies are good once in awhile. I ordered the smashed avocado toast and while the others got the English breakfast platter. We also order the red juice and the honey bee juice. The juices were $ 9, which is average for a juice shop but that is pretty steep. The entrees were $ 15 each, which is quite expensive considering it was vegetarian and not out of the ordinary. My avocado toast was okay as it was like any average toast. Also along with the home fries, the dish lacked flavor. The English breakfast platter was okay and the vegan bacon and sausage wasn’t great. My favorite part of the meal were the juices. The meal left me full but left much to be desired. I think once at this place is more than enough.

Not wanting to wait an hour for the Egg Shop, we popped in here. We were seated immediately, they have both interior and outdoor seating. Interior seating is bar style, with rotating seats, with bonus hooks attached to the underbelly of the table. It was a bit awkward when we sat down, our server handed us a menu and then quickly took it back saying that it was the wrong one. Note, brunch starts at 10am on the dot. They have a pretty small menu but everything either had avocado, egg or kale in it. While we mulled over our choices, the waiter brought out a glass bottle of water for us — inside the glass bottle was a large sprig of mint. I was super excited for mint water, but when I took a sip it was just bitter not the least bit minty. I went with the Smashed Avocado toast Benedict. I was super disappointed. I am not really one to care about presentation of food, but it looked as if my food was just tossed on the plate. My poached eggs were a bit tough and what bothered me most was the slight sour tinge to it, my guess is that they used a bit too much vinegar in the poaching process. The avocado spread was meh, it was really bland and needed a bit of umph to it. A few dashes of salt and pepper could have easily fixed that, but unfortunately the only condiments thy had available was hot sauce and sugar… Ummm ok. And my final issue with this«toast Benedict» was that my bread wasn’t even toasted… Very deceiving. And why. the bread was cold overall making the entire texture of the dish just off. The Benedicts came with a side of house potatoes, but those too were a mushy and soggy mess. So unfortunate since the restaurant itself was so cute and playing some great 90s Hip Hop.

Ended up here for brunch after discovering that the wait at Jack’s Wife Freda was 1 hour(they’re only a couple blocks from each other). The restaurant was pretty crowded, but we were seated within ten minutes! The service is ridiculously fast – we got our food shortly after ordering(ten minutes)! The juices here are amazing. I tried the honey bee and water flower – both sweet and refreshing! The avocado smashed Benedict was fresh! It was a bit bland though, so I tried to add hot sauce, but the shaker was broken. Overall, it was a delicious meal. But most of the items on the menu can probably be made at home! Also, the atmosphere is cool – super clean and earthy!
