The Beauty Loft

I decided to take the risk and try out hair extentions. My hair is on the thinner side and I wanted a fuller look. But I also wanted my hair to look natural. I wanted it all! I decided to try out Beauty loft after doing a quick online search and reading some reviews. I got an informal consultation, and was impressed with their knowledge and honesty of all techniques and what may be best for me. I went for the braidless micorweave, and I cannot be happier. I have gotten so many compliments, most of which are «how did your hair grow so quickly — it looks amazing!», as people honestly thought it was my own hair! They did a great job at strategically placing the extentions and blending the colors to make them look as natural as possible, so that it looks like I was just born with amazing hair. They also did a great job at styling and trimming. They do it all. I also called around and compared prices and they were by far the most affordable. I COMPLETELY recommend them, you will not regret it, and I am SUPER SUPER picky.

Awesome experience! I went here to get a full head of tape extensions and could not be happier with how my hair turned out. After having 2 very poor experiences with tape extensions in the past at a different salon, I was a little hesitant to try again at a new salon, but decided to give The Beauty Loft a try after doing some research and reading the positive reviews. I am so happy I did!
Satia did my extensions and was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. She put me at ease by answering all my questions about the process. I told her I wanted it to look natural– my hair is already quite long but fine, so I wanted to add fullness rather than tons of length. She matched my hair texture and color perfectly. There are several hair textures to choose from– not just one, and the one Satia selected for me was a perfect fit. The end result was exactly what I wanted– thick, full hair that looked completely natural. The hair is also extremely high quality (It’s not just going to look good on the day you walk out of the salon), and they include a wash, custom cut to blend your extensions, and style in the cost of the service, which I felt made it a very good deal. Will definitely be returning :)

I got shellac manicure and I honestly think I could have done a better job myself. The overall ratings for the place are good, but they are mainly for the hair services. Manicure is definitely not their strong side. I got Unilocal voucher so at least I did not have to pay a full price, otherwise it would be only one star.

Rude. Ridiculous. Poor customer service. Not thorough. NOT FANCY; pedicure with No jets, massage, bubbles, frills. Owner, Carlos, was an absolute jerk. Came here on a lifebooker deal, and will never go back. I tried to book an appointment for both a gel mani and a pedi but they said they only had time for a pedicure. When I got there I was running short on time, so I got the pedicure– but as soon as i got there, I asked them when I came in if I could squeeze in the manicure as well. Perhaps they had a cancellation? They said they did not have time so then I asked them: could I just throw on a coat of nail polish so my nails dont look bad for my dinner? I offered that I could even do it if they didn’t have someone available. The woman never gave me an answer, just telling me that she was never asked this before. (You see, I was about to go out to dinner and had no time to go somewhere else). Anyway, needless to say, while the technician was doing my pedicure (which was painful! She cut my cuticles too deep in several places), I told her «I’m just going to throw on a coat ok?» Again didn’t answer. Then the owner, Carlos, came and had the nerve to tell me that he’s been watching me on the video camera and will need to charge me $ 10 for painting my own nails! First, *he was watching me on camera???** As if I was a criminal? Are you serious? He was THERE when I asked the first time– why didn’t he just say that he would charge me? Also, instead of watching me, why didnt he just walk 5 feet over to me like a normal human being & talk? CREEPY!!! Second, $ 10? That’s the price of a full blown manicure that is done professionally (and this place is anything but professional) The nerve! Wow… clearly doesn’t know what he’s doing. Conniving to say the least!

If I could give a 10 star rating I would!!! I came in with bozo orange-​reddish looking hair after a botch dye job and was transformed into a beautiful brunette with amazing extensions! Color, extensions, cut… A+++ worth every penny! These are pros who know how to do hair! These women worked with me and explained everything they were doing! Satia walked me through the different extensions and helped me chose exactly what would work for me and my lifestyle! As an actress I left this salon feeling confident I will look my best on camera!!! LOVE!!! Thank you thank you thank you!!!

I’m so happy I found The Beauty Loft! After frying my hair at a different salon I had to have it cut really short. I tried to live with it, but I couldn’t. I was researching hair extensions when I came across reviews for The Beauty Loft, the service sounded amazing and it really is. I was able to get an appointment the next day! 2 days later I had long hair again! And they even color corrected my hair.
This is my first experience with hair extensions and when I accidentally loosened them too much they fit my into the schedule that day. I was fixed up in a flash!
Sometime you don’t want to tell people when you find such a good place… what if they get too busy??? But I had to share since there is probably someone else out there just like me in need of some hair TLC.

I bought a Groupon to get a mani/​pedi, and I would say that the service was pretty mild. However, last min once I realized that they also provide hair services, I asked if I could get a color touch up and wash and blow dry and they were so nice and worked it in their schedule and the young lady whom did my hair Fresca was amazing she gave great convo and I don’t have a perm but you can’t barely tell, plus they use this mint conditioner specific for extensions (which I have) that totally takes away the itching. I wish I would have just went to get my hair done and went somewhere else for my mani/​pedi but overall it was an awesome experience.
FYI: The manager Rafael is a great guy, I would definitely recommend this place for all your beauty needs! And they have free wifi. Win/​win!

First let me start by saying that Satia is amazing! I was pretty anxious about how the extensions would born in with my hair but she was very knowledgeable and assisted me in selecting what would work best! I love my hair and no one can tell that I have extensions! I also want to add that she squeezed me in for a maintenance appointment on the same day that I called! I love it here and it’s definitely worth the trip from Long Island!

This is the only hair salon I will ever go to again. They are genuine and talented and truly strive to understand their customers desires and needs. All of the staff is extremely profession and over time even start to become closer to friends than anything else. My hair is honestly 1000% healthier and more lovely than it has ever been since I’ve started seeing satia and the incredible team employed at The Beauty Loft

I think I may have hurt my neck from all of the hair-​flipping I’ve been doing since I left The Beauty Loft the other night. I don’t really have the kind of hair that blows sexily in the wind/​exhaust fumes from NYC traffic, and I can’t normally put my fingers through it without snagging a dead end or two. Thanks to the amazing skills of Demetrius and Satia, I left the Loft ready to audition for a Pantene Pro-​V ad (on TV… not radio!).
You know the type of stylists that ensure their clients always look amazing, but they couldn’t care less how their own hair looks? Not the case here! When I came in and caught sight of Demetrius, with his perfect beard and stylish fedora, and Satia, with her gorgeous long hair and immaculate make-​up, I could only have hoped I’d walk out looking half as awesome as they do. Demetrius really went the extra mile to make my hair super soft and silky, while keeping me smiling with tales of his amazing new puppy and his 4-​year-​old rescue cat. Satia jumped in to help wash and style my clip-​in extensions, and I felt like I couldn’t be in better hands. The Beauty Loft is really the first salon that knows exactly how to care for and style human hair extensions. In fact, Demetrius clipped them in so perfectly that I’ve slept with them in comfortably for TWO nights, which I’ve never done in the four years I’ve had them.
The ambiance is chic and trendy, and the hair-​washing sinks are seriously the most comfortable ones ever. (The cause of my current neck strain is definitely from my shameless hair-​flipping and NOT these amazing sinks.) The prices are incredibly reasonable: $ 35 for a blowout (and check out LifeBooker or Unilocal Deals!), whereas DryBar charges almost twice as much because of my clip-​ins. Not to mention, the bevel curl Demetrius gave me is still intact, whereas my hair goes flat in less than an hour when I leave other salons. They also specialize in extensions, and based on how they treated the ones I have, I know they know their stuff!

This place is definitely one of those gems when you find it, you never want to let it go. Really awesome place.
Went in to get a blowout and while I was waiting for my stylist, Satia, I spoke with Rafael, the owner. Super nice guy. Really friendly and open. I liked him immediately. No pretension here.
Satia walked in and she was beautiful. Her make up was so gorgeous I just had so say something about it. Her hair was long and lush so I knew that I was with someone who knew hair.
Went over to the wash station and they have the most decadent chairs I’ve ever had my hair washed in. You actually lay your head down without it bending your neck at all. FABULOUS.
Satia washed my hair and it was a really good wash. She definitely knows what she’s doing and the product she used on my hair (Abba) was so good, it smelled delicious!
After telling her how I wanted my hair I proceeded to read email and text on my phone, barely looking up. When I finally did, with a few minor changes, my hair looked incredible!
I love this salon, I loved the products and the people are top notch. I highly recommend!

I have been getting my hair done by Satia for almost 2 years. She is really the only stylist in NYC that I trust to do my hair (I’ve had some disasters) and I’m so happy that my search for the perfect stylist is over. I love the new location and can’t wait to see Satia next week at my appointment for a much needed tune up!

I’m giving this place 2 stars based on my recent experience there getting hair extensions.
I booked a consultation and they confirmed, then rang a couple hours later asking if I could come in at a different time, I agreed but wasn’t happy as it meant me having to go during work hours.
I had previously had a micro ring weft that I asked them to remove, and they suggested tape extensions so I thought I’d give them a go. $ 355 for one pack of hair at 14″ which we’d agreed upon and I paid the deposit, and $ 150 for all of the service. I asked the lady if it including removal of current hair, blending, cutting etc. and she said yes, that price was everything in.
The day before I had a missed call, but they didn’t try to call back so I thought it must just be a confirmation call and was working so didn’t ring back. I got there on the morning and they told me the shortest they had in my color was 18″ so they had ordered that — I said that’s fine as they could cut it down.
During my appointment, the lady burnt my head with the hairdryer — not happy! She also didn’t cut it down to 14″, it ended up about 16″ which was fine I thought.
At the end of the appointment, I went to go pay the remaining amount after deposit — this is where she told me the removal of my extensions was an additional $ 40 and that, because they had to order 18″ I would be charged an extra $ 50! I wish they’d told me that before I sat down! It was their fault they had to order 18″, I personally don’t think they should tell you the charge AFTER they’ve ordered and you’ve already had them fitted. I would have still had them fitted if I had been told beforehand but I would have been a lot less pissed off.
I came away thinking my hair looked thin (one pack would have been fine for 14″ but 16−18″ definitely needs more) and I felt a little bluergh which I shouldn’t have done after spending over $ 600.
Final rant — there’s a lot of whispering goes on in the salon which I’m not a fan of.

I have been coming here for 2 years now and they are amazing! Satia is the best in the business at what she does!!! I will never go anywhere else for hair extensions. I started with the micro link than switched to the fusion method and I just love everything about Satia and the Beauty Loft! It’s a brand new location and so swanky! Tell all your friends about this place!

There is a difference between needing hair extensions and just wanting hair extensions. In my case the situation was need — and the professionalism and expertise of Satia and the staff at The Beauty Loft was the most amazing discovery of the year! With the ability to evaluate individual needs and recommend the type of process that is best — and then have a distributor close by to get the product and then color the hair if necessary, all while you wait — equals a result that deserves 5 stars. OK it’s a 4^th floor walk up – this is NYC, and by not sitting in a fancy storefront you get privacy and the overhead savings means fair pricing. When care and quality are your primary concern, visit The Beauty Loft.

What is with all these 1-​star reviews? All of my visits to the Beauty Loft have been grade-​A quality. All of the hair stylists have been so sweet and friendly and try to accommodate me to the best of their abilities. They’re also extremely knowledgable in their fields, so I know I can trust them and their opinions. I’ve been getting my extensions done here since July and I can’t believe I haven’t been here before. It’s nice to know that I’m not only getting quality extensions, but I’m getting quality service.

Lousy Hair Salon. Horrible Location, overpriced, service is questionable and poorly organized, hair stylists lack professional integrity.

Well, I really wanted to try this place because of a couple of good reviews. Unfortunately, I had a bad experience.
I purchased an Amazon Local voucher for $ 100 worth of hair color, full highlights, cut and style. However, I only got half of it.
When I arrived, a nice gentleman performed a consultation. We discussed the type of highlights I wanted. I asked about the base or color, he said I didn’t need it, even though the lower part of my hair was dark and the upper had a light color. He also said the highlights would cover the darker parts, also that would take care of that next time I was there.
He did the highlights without color/​base. I trusted him because he seemed knowledgeable. He washed my hair and then styled it. He didn’t cut it and I was a little surprised but didn’t say anything — BIG MISTAKE — again, he’s the stylist and I thought he already knew the purpose my visit. Or that he would cut the ends at the end of the styling.
After he set it, I noticed the lower part of the hair was DARK BROWN. I asked why and his response was that that was the original color? Why didn’t he listened to me in the first place?
I was fuming. When I went to give him the voucher, he said, oh you’re also having a cut? When I called, I was very specific, asked questions and told them the purpose of my appointment. He was surprised and said that they didn’t have me for a cut and that he didn’t have time to cut my hair because he already had someone else waiting for him
I went home and took a look at my hair, it has four different shades! FOUR!!! The lower part is dark brown and the upper has highlights, and two other shades My hair looks so HORRIBLE.
Please think twice before going to this place.

I really wanted to like this place even though its a 4^th floor walk up. Minus 1 star. As soon as I walked in a hair dresser that was blowing someone hair stopped and came up to me and said the nail tech was still occupied and offered me a glass of wine. 4 stars! 20 min later someone else, I think she may have taken my appointment bc she has a very sweet voice and demeanor, well she came up to me and offered me a second glass of wine bc the nail tech was still busy. Sweet but minus 1 star. After waiting a total of 40 min, I was escorted to the nail section and I was talking to the nail tech and found out she was a single mom, I really wanted to like her! She was super sweet, but from where I was looking I could already tell that my toes look like I had applied polish myself. minus another star. My hands did not look any better and the next day one of my nails was chipped and on one of my toes. Minus another star!
I’m just going to stick to my asian ladies at Broadway Nails, there I’m in and out no fuss not muss and its the same Lifebooker or Groupon special of $ 17. Sorry Beauty Loft, I’m sure the hair is a different experience bc the women walking out had a bounce in their step. And they did look good! The nail experience left little to be desired.

Found a deal for a mani-​pedi here on Lifebooker for $ 17 and had to try it out. This place is a HIDDEN GEM. Don’t be fooled by the lack of signage and 4 floor walk up. The inside of this boutique is gorgeous with fancy furniture and friendly staff. Above all, my desperately needed mani-​pedi came out great and I’ll definitely be back.
