Eat from the small plates. Octopus salad is excellent and the Burrata is sublime. Prawns and lentils an odd dish — the same lentils served much better as the base for a fennel rich sausage. Their bread is to die for. Fresh and slightly dark on the outside — creamy and pliable inside. Dipped in a little oil it is incredible. A great late evening meal.

Very reasonably priced. Food is very good. Staff seemed great except the manager or owner(Alex I think) is rude, obnoxious, and insincerely polite. I suggest sitting outside where you don’t have to listen to him yell at the phone or his staff. He is almost enough to make me never go back but again the food is very good for the price and the rest of he staff is very good.

As many have said, the service was often inattentive and applogetic but not sure why exactly. The food was good, but very small portions as you might expect from tapas but… I had a shrimp and artichoke plate… it was just two small shrimp and a few very small slivers(yeah, slivers) of artichoke. Kind of pricey for $ 10 each. I guess I don’t really like small, pricey plates! The bread was good.

I live in the neighborhood and have been to Terra a handful of times. It’s in a perfect location with a come-hither sidewalk café scene in the warmer months. Naturally, it comes to mind as an option when it’s my turn to suggest a meet-up spot for a drink or light bite. They have lovely Italian vino selections by the glass and a big selection of charcuterie, cheeses and other small plates to choose from to snack on. I am disappointed to have to hold such a low opinion of this place because of all the aforementioned reasons. My guess is that the management is bad. The last time I was inside at the bar, the experience was unpleasant due to frenzy of the manager, who was fretting over a stack of paperwork at the hostess stand while barking orders at the wait staff, who fluttered around him all nervously. There is also one server who is particularly salty, who seems to insinuate that you are not ordering enough or you are wasting her time with her snide remarks. I am relieved when any server aside from her comes to take my order. The last experience I had there might be the final if I can maintain my willpower. We had a friend in town this past weekend and were delighted to see several open tables on the sidewalk at around 6 pm, after a busy day walking around town. We stopped by to ask for a table, and the hostess states«the tables are for dining only, will you be dining?» We are annoyed, and answer yes. She then ushers us over to a very small table for two. We tell her we are three(clearly, three of us were standing there) so we need a larger table, pointing to a table with four chairs. She tells us that table is for five people. Clearly, the table has four chairs, and to add a fifth chair, would be blocking the sidewalk. We point out that we would not be able to even fit our dishes on the two-top, as we are three people. Plus adding a chair to this two-top, would also block the sidewalk. She looks nervous and says she has to go inside to check if this is OK. Already feeling very unwelcome for the crime of being an odd number, we left. We walked two blocks down from there to Tiny’s where we enjoyed our summer cocktails and apps, with very friendly service and no unnecessary ‘tude.

Nous y sommes allés pour le lunch, un samedi, tranquille, terrasse accueillante. Service courtois et souriant de notre serveur Angel. Le repas était délicieux, tartare de thon, bruschetta et raviolis de homard.

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of food at this very quaint wine bar. The tapas sized portions were perfect for sharing. We started with the tuna tartar(which was a special) and a very large portion for a $ 10 tapas plate. The beef carpaccio was yummy. We moved on to the eggplant with goat cheese. It was our favorite of the night. We also ordered the grilled shrimp with lentils and polenta. The portions were so generous that we had to take the shrimp to go. A very good value and a pleasant and efficient staff.

A rude server can ruin any dining experience. In this case the waitress was so rude, in fact, that I almost left before we had even ordered. Her refusal to show me the by-the-glass wine list and instead try to cubby hole me into whatever wine she wanted to up sell. I had to request three times to see a wine menu by the glass. Absolutely ridiculous. Now here’s the real kicker, the food was perfect. Eggplant with goat cheese was perfectly balanced and the sardines wrapped pesto was a very creative nibble. We would have stayed to eat more except I could not wait to get out of there.

The octopus crostini was the highlight of the meal but my lobster risotto was a little undercooked and my sisters herbed risotto which came with her lamb was cooked properly but both risottos were heavy handed with the salt. However her lamb shank was tender and flavorful. Excellent service and nice ambience. Great wine list I would come here again for drinks and apps only

No, this is not the writing a bitter angry person. This is simply a telling of what happened and how it made us feel. And no, we are not part of the team that says things like«and then we waited 5 entire minutes for our drinks» or «the portions were so small I could barely believe it» or «the tuna tartare was totally undercooked». We are easy going and if the service is kind and nice and doing their best then we are happy. So we went to Terra last night, waited for a table on the patio because it is a gorgeous patio and it was an amazing night out. We learned quickly that there are lots of rules at Terra — we wanted to have a drink at the bar but were told that was only for eating — that’s cool, totally get it” but can we grab a drink and hang out there while we wait — the answer was no. Ok. So we got our table. The waitress was working her ass off — running around with no support and covering the entire patio. Alex the guy at front did nothing to help her; he spent all his time trying to get any empty table sat as fast as humanely possible. We sat for 15 minutes before being acknowledged — we got water. While we sat we saw a group of 3 be sat at a table. It was a small table and they wanted two pushed together. Alex said«we don’t do that» in a pretty damn harsh unapologetic way and then turned away, that table sat there for another 5 – 10 minutes then got up and left. We heard Alex make fun of them to a table he knew, saying they were mad at him for not giving them a bigger table; he laughed at them. I would say they were mad that he treated them so rudely and would have happily stayed at the small table if he had been kind. So back to us, we waited for 15 minutes for water and then we saw our waitresses running around so hard and we thought we’ll be patient, it is not her fault, she was treating everyone so kindly and working so hard. After 20 more minutes(35 in total) she walks to our table and without even saying hello or sorry for the wait or anything she says«do you know what you want?» we order and she marks on the paper the things we say without saying a word and the entire time she is doing this she is looking around at her other tables, seeming annoyed that we would want to place an order. At this point we had already given this places so many chances that I went and let her know that we were going to leave — she said«ok» and that was it. We headed to Tutto Il Giorno and had the most lovely experience ever. Go there.

Made a reservation several days in advance and learned that our table was outside on a 55 degree night. They never mentioned anything about sitting outside and should have not assumed that people would want to eat outside on a cold night. The were also very rude about getting a table inside.

Bri and I were going on an adventure to get away from all the boys, and more importantly to see T Swift’s apartment. We started walking with the goal of getting a quick bite. Walking by Terra, it made us feel like we were on the streets of Italy. It was in the middle of an intersection, with a great bar overlooking the street. Great for people watching, aka, maybe we could catch a glimpse of T-swift walking by. We got we started with the bread, which was delicious a 4⁄5. We then ordered the Buratta and the Gnocchi. The Buratta was very fresh and creamy, full of flavor. The gnocchi was also fresh, with good texture and lots of flavor. The sauce was homemade, well flavored and unique. Overall, the Italian was«classic», but didn’t have anything extraordinary about our meal. I wouldn’t go out of my way to go here, but if I were to go out by T-Swifts again, I might stop in for a drink or a snack.

Came here for my birthday dinner and was delighted by the quality of ingredients. I got the tagliatelle bolognese & my bf got the lamb shank with risotto & both were great! The food came quickly and the waitress was really nice. I would have given 5 stars if the tables weren’t so cramped together but they were so close that it was uncomfortable. When we were seated, they had to pull the table out which tapped my boyfriend the entire meal. Also, more than once I was knocked by a waiter or another patron & which was really unpleasant. I’ve lived in NYC for 8 years so I’m used to close quarters, but if this place had 5 fewer tables it would be more comfortable.

Casual upscale and a decent deal for TriBeCa! The burrata, an unlisted special for $ 19, was expensive for what it was(for example, go to Supper for the best burrata in the city and pay whatever they ask for it — it flies in from Italy every week and it’s comparable in price). I’m always annoyed by specials because they never give you prices, but I digress. The baked clams were fine, the Mac and cheese was great(hard to do badly), the kale salad was delicious, and the linguini with osso bucco was pretty perfect. The bottle of Montepulciano, one of the cheapest reds on the menu, hit the spot. In fact, I’ve heard a lot of restaurants, hip to the fact that«savvy» people order the 2nd cheapest bottle on the menu, have started pricing their least palatable wines as the 2nd cheapest. You’re better off ordering what you genuinely like, even if it’s the least expensive wine on the menu(it’s actually probably a better bottle than the next one up the rung).

FRAUD, this place tried to rip me off, i had a $ 43 tab and the place ran another $ 40 tip. My CC showed $ 83… To start things off, i ordered 2 old fashion’s and the bartender clearly did not know how to make them. it tasted like sugar water… Then i ordered a glass of montepulciano which was obviously old but at this point i was over it. from 3 lousy drinks for $ 43 and then a fraudulent $ 40 tip. This place should be ashamed. They have been reported to Chase Fraud, and will clearly be hearing from me personally. Update** So I called chase and looked at the pending statement charge which was verified at $ 43, called and spoke to the original bartender. Said they don’t do anything like that. Funny thing was I was the last person who left that night so nobody else could have written it in other than staff. They asked me to come in and bring my receipt to rectify? How? And why would I go out out of my way. Horrible.

We were on the look for a light Sunday meal and Terra Tribeca seemed like a good pick. Casual but still upscale enough for everyone’s taste. The cavernous dimly restaurant as a communal bar seating and table plus a downstairs and outside when the weather is nice. You are greeted immediately by the hostess upon entry. We chose a bar seat facing the large open window looking out into the city. The menu is simple here with small tapas style, salads, pasta and entrée dishes. We choose to go for the small dish route. Our bread and water came quickly after seating. The nice rustic Italian bread with olive oil dipping. Our stoically face waiter greeted gave us the specials, got the drinks and hurriedly off. He came back a few minutes later with wine and just enough time to pick our dishes. The food was very good. Each coming for us about 2 at a time which was nice. Enough to enjoy the bite sized meal and then the next. The lamb chops tender, the crab cakes crispy shell and soft on the inside. The Burrata with prosciutto was milky smooth and the cured salty was perfect with it. Where we sat was perfect for conversation but I imagine it would be a bit louder beyond. It was a nice evening meal. The stoic waiter was attentive but not necessarily amicable. Everything that came out of the kitchen was good. I’ll have to try the pasta dishes the next time we are there.

Terra is a great little wine bar and tapas restaurant in Tribeca. We wandered in after work and sat at the bar. The bartender was very friendly and made a delicious espresso martini. We ordered the burrata, tuna tartare, and a few of the seafood pasta specials. They were all very good. The tuna tartare was especially delicious. The portion sizes were pretty large and perfect for ordering a few and sharing with friends. The only negative I would say is it got very crowded closer to dinner time and pretty loud. I would recommend going for lunch or a happy hour.

Such a rare treat in TriBeCa. Great food at reasonable prices. Do the pasta… any pasta. But if you’re asking, the bolognese and the lobster ravioli are as good as any in the city. True story. Apps are great, especially the burrata and prosciutto(though the heirloom tomatoes are always too cold). Great drinks. Great atmosphere. One reason I didn’t give five… seating arrangements and seating protocol. They have no idea what they’re doing there. But please, don’t let that stop you. It’s worth the visit.

This bright, airy café is perfect for lunch or afternoon drinks & tapas in Tribeca. However, avoid it at all costs for dinner. I’ve been a ‘regular’ here for lunch for several months now, and have never had a negative experience. Every time I have tried to come in for dinner, I’ve been routinely ignored, served cold food, and nearly deafened by the number of screaming parties they try to stuff into this small space. It really is like a different establishment after 7:00 pm, and I absolutely recommend trying the daytime experience here.

Do you HATE a place that doesn’t have great, good, or at least above-competent service? Stop reading now and go somewhere else. Now, for the rest of you — the food at Terra is amazing, and the prices are incredibly reasonable. I went to dinner and we got the mushroom bruschetta, the tagliatelle, and the gnocchi. The mushroom bruschetta was probably a top-5 appetizer I’ve ever eaten in my life. The gnocchi was absolutely delightful, and the tagliatelle was almost as good. I couldn’t recommend the food more. The service, though, leaves a lot to desire. Want some water? TOOBAD! How about your food? Maybe, eventually! A check? Shout louder at the nearest waiter! It’s a bottom 10% service experience, but if you’re not too hungry, just add an extra half hour or so to your wait and it’ll be worth it!
