Wish I could give this place on my street a better review. The space is tiny — some may remember it as the former Matsu(now down the block in a bigger space). That said, it’s really for picking up some food to go as there isn’t any space for eating in. I went in one evening because it was new to the block and one of the employees flagged me in. They were selling plates of food for cheap-cheap because it was already nighttime. It didn’t look too appetizing but I brought it home for my husband. He ate it(waste not, want not) but it wasn’t very good. Another time I had one of their pastries — trying to support a local family-run business — but it was pretty greasy. Over the time that they’ve been there, they’ve added more and more hand-written signs in window touting their offerings(especially unexpected items such as oatmeal). The scrawlings make the place look cheap and more than a bit desperate… Supposedly they have good Cuban sandwiches but I wouldn’t know about the meaty options like that…
