Tasti D Lite

By far the worst customer service I have ever received. The server misheard me, started pouring a cup, didn’t hear me over the noise of the machine when I tried to correct him, then told me it was too late and demanded I pay for the flavor I didn’t order. I apologised and insisted I have what I had asked for; he then started yelling, accusing me of lying, and I walked out empty-​handed.

I’ve been a Tasti D Lite fan since I went to NYU 10 years ago and that small cup for ~$ 3 as an afternoon treat (in between a full day of class and work) would hit the sweet spot without bloating the belly.
Did you know it was invented by a NY woman and the first store opened nearly 30 years ago (1987)? I hope they stick around!
Tasti D Lite is NOT frozen yogurt, it is in fact a low calorie/​fat free ice cream. It does not have the creamy texture but to me, still very satisfying and I thoroughly enjoy it.
I agree service at this particular location is not the best and seems to be empty most of the times but I’m a loyal customer as a nearby resident.
I love the 3 pints for $ 10 option which is a better deal than any supermarket in NYC. Salted caramel and peanut butter are among my top favorites. At only 400−500kcal a pint, it’s certainly a more guilt-​free dessert to keep in your freezer.
They’re pretty consistent with giving you stamps but do note that EACH location has their own stamp card so collect accordingly (get 10 stamps, get a medium free)

Do you like the taste of CHEMICALS? How about the taste of SHAME? Mix those together and you’ve got Tasti D Lite. My favorite CHEMICAL-​TASTING SHAME SNACK is rice pudding ice cream with chocolate chips. It feels so good as the soapy, processed filth travels down my gullet, and begins to create an inevitable unsettling feeling in the pit of my stomach, sort of like I’m being frozen from the inside out by tiny workmen nanobots who hate me to my very core.
Do you have a desire to be cheated out of your money? Then BOY IS THIS THE SHOP FOR YOU! The dude at the register rung me up and an amount came up on the display. He pressed a button to clear the display almost immediately (fortunately I have the superpower to read three numbers and a period in under half a second) and demanded more money than was on the cash display. I gave him a 5, and he would not give me change. He waved me out of the shop and started talking to the next customer before I could protest further. It was about 50 cents so I didn’t fight it.
CRIMINAL ACTIVITY? Perhaps! DRUG/​MAFIA FRONT? Maybe! GOOD OL’ EXTORTION? Actually I’m gonna go with this one

Brand new renovated! Clean, yummy, very friendly girl working. I asked if they had a particular flavor in their freezer so she checked for me for 5mins pulling out containers and rearranging and found exactly what I wanted. :)

Low value for the price with poor customer service
Do you remember when Tasti D-​lite was in the back of bulk candy shops? You got two swirls of ice-​cream around the cone then a long single tall strand of ice cream on top to make it look like you got more than you really did. So, I never got my taste d-​lite from those guys and, thankfully, in the name of fresh gummy bears, they have mostly closed.
Well– those meager portions have found there way into this shop. Plus, you have to deal with one guy (see reviews below) who missed courtesy training. The guy who seems to «get it» has to sit there smiling, watching this other guy behave poorly.
Do yourself a favor– find another location who remembers what Tasti D-​lite is all about– ample sized cones (that you pay a premium for) of quality soft serve.

This Tasti is a good Tasti. I’ve only seen two different guys working here — one being pleasant and patient, the other being, well, a dick almost all the time. But I don’t really care, honestly, because I come to Tasti for frozen dessert.
And let me tell you, it’s not frozen yogurt. It’s not ice cream either. People really need to give Tasti D a break. I worked at a Tasti once and it’s not rocket science. If you must know, it’s a combination of skim milk and water. Secret’s out.
This particular location has four flavors (two changing, and two consistent chocolate and vanilla), all of which vary slightly in caloric content and ingredients (i.e. peanut butter, fruit flavors, etc.) but are all equally refreshing and great with any of their toppings (ranging from nuts to sprinkles to chocolate and beyond).
There are all of two seats, I think, in there, but it’s more of a to-​go Tasti anyway, you know?

I like this Tasti D. It’s really small, but I always take my order to go. It’s always very clean, and the guys who I’ve seen working here are very pleasant. Their freezer is always packed with a variety of pints and their version of the flying saucer. I like the flavors they choose here. A few weeks ago they had a Red Velvet flavor and a Peach flavor which were great, and last week I had their Tres Leches flavor. Tres Leches at Tasti D is much better for me than Tres Leches at Doughnut Plant (or real Tres Leches cake), I wish they’d offer it more often. All the nutritional info is on their website and it’s a lot better for me than Haagen Daas. They offer a frequent customer card too and I’m hoping to get a free cup by the end of the summer. They have deals Monday-​Wednesday, I believe on Mondays you get $ 1 off a pint.
