Came across the food truck walking around and stopped. So glad I tried it was the best falafel and hummus I’ve ever had! Fresh baked bread, green falafel and fresh made hummus — yum!!!

So real talk here… These guys are doing it right. I’ve never had falafel so delicate and light in my life… INMYLIFE. You know when you bite into falafel and its crunchy on the outside and cakey on the inside? Well replace the cakey with pillowy and you have their falafel. I’m pretty sure I blacked out after the first bite but apparently it transported me back to my childhood as a friend told me I muttered«holy crow» after I took the first bite. I had the harissa falafel sandwich with s’rug and I the amount they give you for $ 7 is solid… No complaints at all. This this was overflowing with hummus, Israeli salad, green cabbage, a bunch of falafels. Every bite was perfect and packed full of flavor. They usually have a line but I’ve never had to wait more than 5−10mins(max) as they fly through orders. Anyways, If you see this truck posted up somewhere in NYC jump in line and get a sandwich… Just make sure you message me first so I can head down and get one too.

I’ve had falafels from a few different places including mamouns and sam’s falafel. I came here on a whim from Unilocal and waited on a 10+ people line to try these amazing fried chickpea balls. They did not disappoint. This place has great tasting falafel sandwiches and comes with Israeli salad inside. The included tahini sauce complimented the sandwich very well. This place has a nicely designed cart but the crowd they serve tend to be more foodie types than the regular lunch crowd. If value is your priority, go for sam’s falafel. You get 80−90% of the quality at 60% of this cart’s price. It was great to try once but I hated the slow lines.

their falafels are so delicious. The lines are long sometime but worth the wait.

Had the Falafel Sandwich with everything and a Date-Lime-Banana smoothie, curtesy of my bud Kev’ from work. I was immediately turned a fan. Loved the entire meal. The smoothie was so good, you can actually taste all 3 ingredients. The Banana stood out the most, but you get a hint of lime and dates with each sip. I’d love to try this again soon, wish I can also have this smoothie for breakfast! Kev would agree. Freshly made and ready to go fast. The Falafel Sandwich comes with a delicious tahini sauce and hummus. It also contained sliced boiled eggs, which was a first for me. Never had eggs with a falafel sandwich. I’ll be on the lookout for Tues and Wed when they’re located in the Flat Iron neighborhood. I’ve been to many places where they serve falafel sandwiches, but nothing like this so far — best one I’ve had yet.

So disappointed! The falafel sandwiches here used to be so great, and very similar to West Village location, if not as good. But I got one a couple of weeks ago and it was really bland. Also, I ordered the special of the day which was harissa, and which they charged me for. But I actually received the regular green falafel. Slipping in quality and attention to detail. I hope it was just an off day, and I can write a raving review soon. Better yet, open up a brick and morter in Midtown East, where the lunch options are still lacking and I can sample more effectively.

Walked by this truck and decided to turn back around to try it. I saw the words falafel and hummus and knew I needed some asap. I went around 3ish and there wasn’t a line so service was super quick. I got the falafel sandwich and it even came with a small thing of extra hummus. YESPLEASE! I didn’t eat it right away and couldn’t eat it on the subway ride home. It did smell delicious though and I couldn’t resist eating it while waiting for the bus. The falafel was well made. I was afraid it’ll get soggy but it didn’t. You know you’re eating good falafel when the inside of it is nice and green! They also don’t skimp on the falafel and it was fully packed! The hummus was also very good. The veggies inside weren’t over powering and really complimented everything. This sandwich is definitely really filling and totally worth it for $ 7.

Not bad for a food truck however, I only had the fries and ginger-mint lemonade. The lemonade was a bit too sweet for my taste and I didn’t taste the ginger — so I was disappointed. The fries and aioli was… okay. They were saturated in oil and the sauce was very thick. It was like eating homemade French fries dipped in mayo seasoned with chipotle. I can make that at home… LOL.

On a normal day I would give this place 4 or 5 stars but lately this are not so great. About 2 weeks ago I had a falafel from the truck and it didn’t taste as great as it usually does. Ok, no problem. Things happen. Then a few weeks ago I go to the truck and see there is no line. Then I read the sign that says due to Passover they are not serving pitas! Ok I understand that religious observances are a factor for most people but why assume that everyone who eats at the truck follows the restrictions? My understanding is that a food truck is meant to serve to the customers but what do I know?!? My coworkers and I ended up finding a new food truck that day so I guess not a total loss. I will probably skip this truck and stick to the store when I am craving a falafel since they are too good to pass up(just not during religious observance days).

Just got a Harissa falafel sandwich at the grand army plaza food truck rally. Great deal at $ 8; good thing hubby was there to share because there is no way I would have finished. Nice crunch to the falafel and they were cooked through– nothing worse than raw falafel middles! The sandwich did not fall apart and the tahini had a great flavor. Could have used just a little more veggies. And the ginger/mint lemonade was dynamite. I’ll be looking for this truck again — all the salads sounded great.

Spotting the Taim Mobile truck by my office is really a work week treat. It’s a sleek black vehicle with lime green trim and adorable chickpea designs adorning its exterior, making it one of the prettier, more welcoming food trucks in the city. I know this is very important to a certain breed of individuals more self-respecting than myself, the type that refuse to eat communal food in an office setting or go to restaurants with anything less than an A rating. While I’m no germaphobe myself, I recognize that street meat vehicles can run the gamut from classic steel cart to re-purposed ice cream truck to rapist van, so I see why just the sight of a clean and tidy Taim Mobile truck puts the OCD’ers at ease. For me, all of that is strictly bonus. Given Taim has secured a stronghold in the downtown falafel scene with their brick and mortar stores for some time now, I’m here for the food. And truth be told, it loses none of its quality or flavor by being on some truck. My go-to is still the Harissa(when it’s a special, which is pretty often), which is just a touch smokey and a little spicy. Their falafel is consistently solid and never dried-out, and still almost always a messy endeavor in sandwich form. I wouldn’t go so far as to say its the best I’ve ever had, but its popularity is well-warranted and no doubt a delicious, above-average, special-treat lunch choice. That said, the line can appear discouragingly long, but it moves fairly quickly. Add a Homemade Ginger-Mint Lemonade when you place your(cash only) order at the window, especially come summertime. It’s extremely refreshing without being super sweet, and mild on the mint and ginger front. A few sips and your falafel is bagged and ready before you know it.

I had tried Taim a year or two in the West Village and really enjoyed it but had kind of forgotten about it until I saw their truck around midtown the other day. For $ 6.50 you get a massive falafel sandwich which lots of toppings. I had to push myself to finish it and my roommate left quite a bit of his. This was the only thing I ate the entire day. They give you around 4 balls which are spread out so you generally get a little bit in each bite. The hot sauce was quite hot so beware.

Well-incorporated deliciousness in a pita pocket. If you’ve ever fallen victim to dry balls at the bottom of your pita with nary a drop of tahini in sight, due to the liquid gold being hastily globbed on the top and now residing in your stomach — or worse, squirting out the side of the foil and landing weirdly on the back of your dress(it happens), then Taim is the falafel for you. I don’t know what methods they’re employing in the back of that truck, but each bite of the falafel sandwich contains the perfect amount of all the good heat they’re packing. It truly is bliss. And the huge portion(load it up for no extra charge with Israeli salad, chutney and pickles) can easily turn into lunch for the next day as well. $ 6.50 well spent.

Taim makes the best spiced and tasty falafel in NYC, and no amount of argument or competition can knock them off the top spot. I dare you to try, amateurs. On Thursdays, this blessed food truck makes it to the Flatiron District where I spend an impatient fifteen minutes in line with a hungry stomach and the smell of falafel permeating the air. For $ 10, I get a huge falafel sandwich and their delicious ginger-mint lemonade — if we’re lucky, Taim Mobile have specials which knock the price of platter and drink combos down by dollars. Huzzah!

Only $ 6.50 for the best Falafel sandwich ever?! I’m sold. I’ve seen so many reviews about the falafel from this place and it’s been on my to-try list since forever. I thought it would be hyped up but it really is the best falafel I’ve tried so far. Nice crispy shell, well-seasoned, and vibrant green. Just awesome. Of course I haven’t tried every single falafel there is to offer in the city, so won’t say it’s the best ever. I chose to pay extra for the Harissa Falafel. It didn’t taste any different to a regular falafel so wasted my 50 cents there but still this sandwich is solid and incredibly filling. Even though the sandwich is only $ 7, they don’t skimp out on the filling. I usually get hungry about an hour after I eat, but this kept me full for 6 hours. Must be all that protein. You have a choice between white or whole wheat pita. The sandwich comes with falafel, Israeli salad, green cabbage, hummus, and tahini sauce. You also have a choice to add extra sauces(S’rug and Yemeni) and pickles and peppers for free. The Yemeni sauce has a kick to it. If you don’t like spicy, I’d recommend to leave this sauce off. They usually come down to the WFC on Wednesdays. There’s no line now because of the weather, but I heard they sell out during the summer. Planning to have this at least once a week, so I’ll be sad when that happens.

On a recent afternoon, the Taim Truck was parked just off the food truck paradise that 5th Avenue has become(between Union Square and Flatiron). Although I am often all about the meat, I’ll never say no to Taim’s falafel. And on this gloriously sunny day, I was lucky enough that they were serving their sun-dried tomato and basil special, which I must say I like even better than the regular, always-awesome version. Throw that shit in a whole wheat pita with hummus, tahini, Israeli salad and a bit of cabbage for crunch… a near perfect lunch for only $ 7.

The truck version of the Taim empire. Compared to their brick and mortar versions it seems i’ve had the best versions of their falafels here. Fried to order and fresh compared to the storefront being overwhelmed and quality and consistency not being as good. They are creative as they have various flavored falafel as specials for the day and my favorite is the red pepper. Favorites is the pita bread. Hot, soft, and fresh i can eat a whole plate of pita discs. Sprinkled with some spices on top it works well. Go with the falafel sandwich and option of a hard boiled egg with all the toppings of hummus, cucumbers, and tabouli with the wonderful Pita bread. Also go with the date, lime, banana smoothie. Delicious and refreshing. Go with the truck if it’s in your area.

This truck used to park right by my office and I would pass by it frequently thinking«Israeli food doesn’t exactly scream flavor». However, a colleague of mine raved about the food specifying specifically — this is the only food truck she will ever eat from because they have running water which allows the staff to wash their hands. So I orded the hummus sandwich($ 5.50) to try and then revisited and ordered their falafel sandwich($ 6.50) and visited again to order the hummus sandwich and so on and so forth. I was right — it doesn’t scream flavor but you do get a nice balance of differently flavors and textures that combined together create a delightful marriage that screams«healthy»!

LOVE. LOVE. LOVE. I want to say that this is my favorite falafel place in the city. Two summers ago, the Taim truck used to come to the High Line, just two blocks away from where I work. Baby, what they say is true. I just didn’t know what I had until it was gone. My summer fling with Taim was just too short of a love story. The falafel sandwich is perfectly seasoned and fried, with just the right ratio of falafel to pita to dressings/garnishings. The sandwich is also huge and it would basically put me into a permanent state of food coma for the rest of the afternoon. They also have really delicious drinks. I really liked the ginger mint lemonade I had there. Haven’t had the other drinks but would like to try them someday before I leave the city!

Taim Mobile Truck, just who do you think you are? You met me at a music festival and you gave me the greatest pleasure of my life and then you just leave town? No calls, no flowers, no texts so that I have nothing to remember you by except for this review. This love story began when the Taim Mobile Truck came down from New York City to the Sweet Life Festival in Maryland. Sometime during the«Explosions in the Sky» set, I started craving snack #3(we had already digested a Serious Eats’ muffaletta sandwich, a phở hot dog from Toki, a Momofuku Milk Bar’ compost cookie and beers). The truck had a limited menu available for the festival which included a harissa falafel sandwich;french fries served with homemade saffron aioli and smoothies in three flavors: date-banana-lime with soy milk, strawberry-raspberry-Thai basil, and pear-mint-lemon. So I walked up to the nice tall counter on the big truck(seriously, this window with the counter was a good six feet off the ground), got up on my tippy toes, shouted my name and order and I was rewarded with a harissa falafel sandwich topped with hummus, israeli salad, pickled cabbage, and tahini sauce. They unfortunately had run out of the french fries with saffron aioli, cause I would have been all over that. They offered two sauces to accompany the sandwich. The«Amba» which was a pickled mango-fenugreek chutney, and the«S’rug» a cilantro-garlic-chili hot sauce. I naturally covered the sandwich in both. After that it was love at first bite. Just remember to crush the falafel balls together so it can fit in your mouth(I didn’t make this up, that’s what they kept saying at Amsterdam Felafel Shop in Adams Morgan). The pita bread is oh so very plush and soft, the sauces were delicious, and the falafel was well seasoned(the harissa was cooked into the falafel not offered as a sauce, as you would usually expect), soft and moist. The sandwich itself was pretty big and easily shared between two people. It was better than anything I have had in the DC area. And as quickly as the Taim Mobile Truck came into my life, it left. Now only New Yorkers will have easy access to the best falafel I have ever had, but just in case the Taim Mobile Truck was testing out the DC food truck market and ever wanted to come back to town(for forever and ever), then I’ll welcome it back with open arms. Seriously, call me. XOXO.
