I had a canopy to a swing whose material was falling apart. Nigel helped me determine how much of each type of fabric to order and did an excellent job; so much so that people don’t know that a substitution had been made. Well, until they see how fresh and clean the new canopy is.

Being a non-​fashionista, I purchase clothes without trying them on… often. Turns out this is a problem. Enter Nigel and Tailors Atelier of NY. After purchasing a new suit, I noticed it was a bit too large in the front, sleeves needed to be shortened, and apparently using your pants as a mop isn’t cool, so the they needed adjustment as well. After a Unilocal search, I (sweatily) popped in to TANY and was greeted by Nigel. He was super nice and very quick in pinning the problem areas so I looked like the stud my Mother always tells me I am. He didn’t push anything and gave me the option of a few different styles, which I appreciated. When walking back to the register, I dropped the bomb on him that I needed it ready by Sunday (it was Thursday) and instead of giving me the dirty look I deserved, he made sure it was ready… on Saturday. Class act. I rocked the suit over the weekend and received nothing but compliments. It fit perfectly. Need a tailor? Head on over to TANY… just be cool and give ‘em some more time than I did.

I took my Marchesa wedding gown which needed to be Completely re-​sized since the dress was 2 sizes too big. I was crying when I first tried it on and Nigel handed me a tissue and said something along the lines of ‘don’t cry dear… Would you still love the dress if it fit you?’ and I said ‘yes’. Nigel said ‘well then we’re going to do just that’. He worked wonders and the dress fits perfectly. No more tears thanks to Nigel and his team. Not to mention how professional he is as well as a gem of a person. His wife is a pleasure. I must say they are also very accommodating. Total experience was wonderful. Wedding is June 4^th so I’ll post photos after! I HIGHLY recommend Nigel and his team. So thankful!!!

Nigel and his wife are an absolute pleasure. I was referred to Nigel by my suit company Beau and have had nothing other than an excellent experience. This is a lovely shop and a wonderful professional tailor who is sensitive to the customer’s needs, does a fantastic job on the garment, is priced reasonably based on the complexity and extent of the work to be done and has the work done when he says it will be done. After having one of my suits ruined by another tailor, I decided to do more research and decided to give this place a try based on all the positive reviews. I’m so glad I did because they truly did an amazing job. Not only were they able take out the pants, but they were able to tailor two old suits to have a more modern and slim fit. The owner greeted me and was very knowledgable with everything he was going to be doing with the suits. The quality is more than outstanding and I will now only be going to this place to get any tailoring done.

Nigel and his team does pretty fantastic work. This was my first time getting my suits tailored and Nigel’s expertise and willingness to walk me through the different recommended alterations was extremely helpful. Definitely recommend checking out his shop!

This is the SPOT. Truly, the SPOT! For starters, the work was PERFECTION. I’m extremely particular, so I really appreciate precision. Which is exactly what Nigel and his team is over there — precise! I had my jeans tapered, they were a bit too wide at the bottom — and my man Nigel found the perfect balance of bringing them in, not too tight, not loosing how the jean falls. The seams, stitches, lines, all of it… exact. Really impressive work. Sounds easy, but I have had many tailors botch these types of jobs up. Needless to say, I’m very pleased! Also, it is worth mentioning how fun it is to go in there, his shop has a great vibe, as does he. East Village needed this place.

This place is a gem. I brought in some blue jeans to be hemmed.
Simple job, $ 20, «ready later today». The results were so good I brought in another pair the next day which were done with the same efficiency and skill. They are polite, professional, and get the job done. Highly recommend if you are like me… between sizes petite and regular so ALL your jeans are an inch too long.

What a great find! Nigel is extremely welcoming and excited about the work he does. Brought in a suit jacket that was a little too boxy on me and we went over the different options for what I was looking for. It felt great to work with someone who was knowledgable without being pushy — I really felt comfortable, which is something I typically can never say coming out of a tailoring experience. The jacket came out looking fantastic, and all for a pretty reasonable price. Fully plan on coming back here for all my tailoring needs in the future.

I have had a few tailor experiences before where I’ve felt rushed and the simplest hem work take weeks. I thought it was a norm until I stepped into Nigel’s company.
I had to have a heavy beaded cocktail dress taken in down the side seams AND adjust straps with only 4 days before a Gatsby themed party, I thought I was completely out of luck. I brought the dress in on Tuesday and Nigel gave me a professional consultation. I then picked up the PERFECT finished dress on Friday.
Nigel and his wonderful team took such great care of this dress, they moved each individual glass and leather bead by hand and then re-​stitched them back so it looks NEW!

Nigel at the Tailor’s atelier has been my go-​to tailor for the last 4 – 5 years and he has altered more than 100 pieces for me including my wedding dress! Every single piece came out exactly the way I pictured! I highly recommend them !

I bought a beautiful bridal gown, and wanted a complete reconstruction of the top. I went to at least a dozen tailors and I was either turned down completely, or told that my vision couldn’t be accomplished. Alas, Nigel came to the rescue. Not only was he the first Tailor to attentively listen to my vision, he was not daunted by the challenge at all.
As he began to pin the dress, I could see my vision coming forth. He was also very mindful of the pattern, and made sure that it was cut to perfection. Nigel has since opened up Tailor’s Atlier and I followed him here, and refuse to see anyone else except him. I have since brought other garments to him, all of which were done superbly.
